I have been working on giving my poor overlooked elder sims more nice wearable clothes, normally I stick to everyday kind of thins, but my sister asked me of I could please make a wedding dress of the old ladies... so I gave it a try.. I think it turned out pretty good.

Thanks Annique! Well, having a sinus infection does have some benefits...like I'm able to sit and do some work. I was bored last night and the river of mucus running through my body only allowed me to sit, so I hand-drew this eye texture with my new tablet. I think it looks nice, I wouldn't use it personally, however I think some people might!

PLEASE tell me if/how to improve them. I will be adding a better texture to the Grace Kelly dress tomorrow. And I'm going to make a Rita Hayworth dress soon, to go with the set.

Katie, I think they look like a good start. I think the dresses need more shadowing, and definitely a different texture. They seem too matte to me.

I'm crap with shadowing, I will have to try but it might make them look worse.

Another thing you could do is using a soft brush on your eraser tool and modify a bit the alpha channel. I mean, in the last pic, you can clearly see the too-sharp edge of the black area. Try to control a bit better the transition from black texture to naked skin! For shadowing, if you are using Photoshop, press O on your keyboard and Capital+O several times. You will access to 3 tools: one for working on shadows, one for lights and one for saturation. Those are the secrets of shadowing ;)

Katie, there are some great tutorials (http://modthesims2.com/forumdisplay.php?f=249) over at MTS that deal with shadowing and the such for bodyshop skinning. They also translate really well over into PSP.

Well I love love love HP's swishy skirt mesh with boots and I really wanted some more patterned options for it and these are what I came up with. All I really did was take some wallpaper patterns and stick em on the skirt. I did slightly tweak the color of the boots but the shadowing texture on the skirt is from HP.

Probably not going to be uploaded because I don't think they're good enough but I just wanted to show off my first patterned recolor!

The only thing that I'd really suggest is that for darker colors, make the main color a bit lighter and add shadows and highlights to give it more depth. I mentioned the possibility of that happening in the Data upload. I would have remake her in BS, but it wouldn't be too hard to do. SimPE hasn't worked for me since BV was installed....and usually I can get it to work regardless of which expansion pack I have installed!
