Coltraz - I really like your house.

And this is my made house, didn't turn out really as I wanted but I can't say that I don't like it. :

The landscaping in this house has become* a total nightmare. Any suggestions?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/Viki/Sims/snapshot_15698dfd_156ab638.jpg
(I know the pictures aren't very attractive, but I wanted them to be descriptive.)

I want to put a fence around the whole lot so they have privacy, but none seems to match the theme of the house. I kinda like the tall hedges, but triming them takes too much time and I can't find plastic ones.

I'm tired of the house, but dammit, I want to complete the job!

*(is this correct "it has become a nightmare"? The quality of my english is going downhill lately...)

PlasticBarbie[/url] Cute house!
[b]Coltraz Is that the house on the 1x1 lot? Looks good.
Kroot I like the tire hanging from the tree.
Nissun Never seen a house like that before, it looks good and unique. Maybe a hedge fence surrounded by steel fencing would work a bit. BTW Windkeeper has plastic shrubbery at the Booty/TSR, or there's Jeffistan for no care plants.

Thanks Bab & All!
No, this is a different house. The 1x1 lot house is not very unremarkable on the outside, so I didn't bother posting it.
I absolutely LOVE your new house. If it shows up on your site I'll totally download it. It looks very real. I love the drainage pipes/gutters, and the white fence at the end of the driveway. Very pretty.

all day long ive been building houses to use all my nice new shiney things, to build a modern colorfull party house...so id get to building..and once id get the shell done and start furnashing...i noticed the layout is more suited for a whole white/cream/brown luxery home and not a red/yellow/green party home..so i built a new house..and i did this...6 times...
so finaly...i sat ansd thought real hard..and realized that a true modern colorfull party house..is one i used to build all the time!
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/fergiefan12/snapshot_00000029_d56c6064.jpg

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/fergiefan12/snapshot_00000029_556c60f3.jpg
and i wonderd why those latnern lights dont have strings to hold them to the ceiling..and now i see that they arnt meant for the ceiling...there meant for that tree! (but you can use them however lmao)
(and also...yes..there is no bedroom...and i didnt realize this untill i took those pics...but by that time i was sick of the game so lol)

Night Racer, I usually forget to put bathrooms, but bedrooms? xD The house looks good, though.
Coltraz, that looks goo too. Building in such small lots is hard but usually the result is worth the effort. I may start working on them again. Decorating big houses is killing me.

Well. I've been working again in the landscaping of that house. I had to get rid of the sci-fi pond full of colourful plants, though, but it was too caotic to unify it with the other parts of the lot.

Two descriptive aerial shots:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/Viki/Sims/snapshot_15698dfd_156c35f8.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/Viki/Sims/snapshot_15698dfd_956c35ef.jpg

Removing the pond allowed me to fix the fencing problem. Puting walls was something I did usually in my sims 1 minimalist houses, and it works fine here with those black windows. Not closed, not open. They can walk around the garden in their underwear without beign seen by their neighbors xD

About the round roofs... The thing is, I've never used that roofing in my game before. I used it here to make a small spot with those organic forms, like some sort of alien thing to the house, maybe reminiscent of the owner's ancient alien culture.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/Viki/Sims/snapshot_15698dfd_356c35d6.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/Viki/Sims/snapshot_15698dfd_d56c3527.jpg

The retro-futuristic feeling outside isn't like what I wanted to achieve, I wanted to create a more googie house. But I quite like how it is now. At least it's playable.

Try just looking in your Storytelling folder. Go to EA Games, The Sims2, Storytelling.

For some reason if I'm taking pics of houses or unoccupied rooms, the photos get saved there instead of one of the neighborhood folders.

Well, today I started a new neighbourhood, a set of utopic islands. The main idea is to build many flat-roof white modern houses.

Here is the first one. Yeah, I made a dirt neighbourhood. I kinda regret it, but I've decided to try and make it look good. I just wanted something different.

Well, today I started a new neighbourhood, a set of utopic islands. The main idea is to build many flat-roof white modern houses.

Here is the first one. Yeah, I made a dirt neighbourhood. I kinda regret it, but I've decided to try and make it look good. I just wanted something different.

I really like the look of the buildings in your new 'hood. Having the dirt terrain seems apropriate to me, ever seen a new development going up?! You can always use the terraintype cheat to change it later when you are done/when it starts to blther you too much ;) .

And, so I don't double-post:

CiaoAlora - I recognise that house! And I should. I've just spent the last two hours trying to make it 'sim-worthy'.... Grrr.... I couldn't ever do it the justice you have, though. I bow to you superior taste. Looks amazing!

This is my poor Hamish's house. I'm micro-managinging him in the extreme to see if I can fit most of the good AND the bad into his little life span. Although it's hard to tell, this is a gradual makeover of the condo-type house to the left of the Calientes in Pleasantview. I really enjoy slowly growing and changing houses over time.

Hello everyone! I've been out of here for a long time, so it's great to see you guys again :}
Houses and landscaping pics are in ver.4 allready - that's cool. Great pics as allways... And yes, i have some new stuff to show off.
Last week i had some free time (i meen real one, huh) and decided to recreate a house from great anime "My neighbour Totoro". I've find some pics of it over the net, and.. in the end.. after searching and downloading a bunch of CC an creating my own recolors, floors and walls.. i have this:

http://i33.tinypic.com/24w62dc.jpg

http://i37.tinypic.com/2nl63o7.jpg

http://i33.tinypic.com/qouahj.jpg

So, hope you guys like it. I can't say that i'm satisfied at 100% with this result (there is a lot of issues that i don't like)... So that's why i will continue working on it (current version is 3, huh)... Looks like i need to understand how to create custom 3d models.. or meshes.. I wish i could create fully detailed roof for this house.. oh well :)

I went through this whole thread last night, I saw some amazing houses! All you guys are sooo creative

I'll show a picture of my legacy house, partly because it's one of the only well built houses in my game that I haven't uploaded. Usually I'm lazy with my Sims and either download a playable house from MTS2 or make a really crappy one quickly and move them in.

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb104/NeoEpisteme/snapshot_30bf445d_d39e68ac-1.jpg

There's not really any CC on it since I don't want it to lag, just a custom door and walls that I painted. And this was taken in winter so the gardens don't look immaculate, but meh ;)

Oh, guys.. thanks!
Concerning this house.. If you didn't saw "My neighbour Totoro" anime, go to http://hyuma.splinder.com/post/9441472 to see some pics of the real house, what i was trying to recreate.. huh
and yes.. these pics was enhanced in photoshop.. i've resized, colour corrected and sharpen these pics :) Now i want to realize the way i can create my own roof.. i meen as a custom object.. to make this house even better :)
About uploading well, i'm not sure about this, cause there is alot of dependecies, i used very many custom content.. not sure that some one will download it.. only if i could include all this stuff.. woah.. :)

To Shrewsbury333: Oh, thanks! These roofs i've made by myself. And the walls too. I think about sharing this house, so right now i need to replace all the CC content with my own to make it included in the upload, so.. it's also needs some more improvements, so i hope i will able to share it soon :)

To Brilliantcat: Oh, thank you. Whell there is nothing special. Pics look greater than you create a 800x600 picture out of.. 1600x1200 for example :) I also add some blur effects on some areas and add sharping to make pics looks more detailed. Also i add a bit more contrast and colour balance (i add more blue to the shadows, and yellow to the highlights) so... that's all i guess :)

If you use the move_objects on cheat, it's possible to put floortiles outside the normal lot. Then you can cover the sidewalk and even the road itself with other tiles. ;)
There are other cheats that allows this too.

Shrewsbury333 - I'm in complete awe of your patience and attention to detail. You've really created a whole world in that lot - and it looks like you've mostly stuck in in-game content. Congratulations. I't amazing.

chowgilly: I really like the clean, entertainment-style feel of those houses. Looks like you have a very 'social' neighbourhood.

el flel: Clever you! There's such a sweet, community atmosphere to the street you've made.

I recently made a small movie theatre. I know nothing of art deco, but I wanted a 'Grim Fandango' look about it. And while I'm quite pleased with the exterior, the interior is giving me a major headache. But it's a start...

Sorry for not being on for some time. Busted my leg and was bed-ridden for almost 2 months :/
Famous in particular for its massive dome, it is considered the epitome of Byzantine architecture. It was the largest cathedral in the world for nearly a thousand years, until the completion of the Medieval Seville Cathedral in 1520.
Because of it mass, there is very little grass for your sims to play on. I know the lot is small for this building--I found that out when I was 3/4 done. But I was so close to finish I figured I could make it fit; and I did--barely.
This former mosque has enough space for a family of six. But the third floor is unfinished and so you can have eight, or download a patch that allows more than the default maximum amount of sims you can have on one lot. (You'll have to locate it yourself, I have never needed this patch so I don't know where it is.)
This price of this structure is rather steep at over 147,000. But those Sims with money on their mind will love it :)

My husband felt creative and made this Piggy house in his game. He enjoys doing the out of the ordinary when it comes to building. I thought I'd share the cuteness with all of you. The entire interior is pink and the ears are the pink lip couches. The sim living in the home is Ima Hogge. Its a interesting theme. :) Too bad you can't get pet pigs or pig decorations or it would really be polished off.

I redid Brandi Broke's house a bit. After I took the picture I did a little more landscaping, though. (And I removed that arm chair off the sidewalk. hehe)

An_na... nice shot. It's been a year at least since I got my new computer
with shiny graphics, and I still get a thrill every time I see that sun that I
didn't know existed before.

This is an old house of mine with a bit of a beachy makeover.

An_na cute garden. I always seem to lock my Sims' plants away behind airlocks and such.
Daisie That house is cute, looks like it would be an awesome vacation home.
cmserene That first house is cool, the roofline reminds me of a Huf Haus.
