AUDRINA - Epilogue [6/10]

Hey everyone! Here's the intro to my first real sim story. I hope you like it!

It was a Friday night. Audrina and her best friend, Gina were extremely excited about the event that was to take place that following night. It was thier first high school party of the year and everyone who was somebody was going to be there. Her parents were attending her father's boss' business party and would be gone all weekend. "I can't believe that my parents are actually letting me have the house all to myself," whispered Audrina to Gina. "I know, me too. Usually your dad is so strict! This is going to be the best party ever!" exclaimed Gina at a low whisper so that Audrina's parents couldn't hear.

"Alright, Audrina, now listen. I don't want any funny stuff tonight, you got it? No parties, no drinking, no smoking, and no leaving the house!" warned her father.
"Yes, daddy. I know. And thank you for letting Gina spend the night," said Audrina with her child-like smile she always gave her father, which had always softened his heart.
"Yes well, I figured you needed some help babysitting the twin terrors," he giggled, referring to Audrina's little twin brothers when he pointed upstairs.

Audrina hugged her parents goodbye and followed them outside. Her and Gina watched anxiously from the front porch as her parents got into the car and drove off. Audrina glanced over at Gina and smiled. Gina returned it just the same and they headed back inside.

Saturday night came around and the party was turning out pretty well. Audrina was dancing crazily with her friends when she noticed a certain someone wasn't here yet. Where is he? she thought to herself.

She couldn't help to get upset at the fact that her boyfriend didn't show. This was the third time he stood her up for something. Audrina decided to call Jake to see what his deal was, but just as she approached the phone, she noticed a cop car across the street. They're probably there for the house across the street, she thought, but when the police officer got out of the car, she knew she was in trouble. Damn, it's Greg! "Everyone stop! Turn the music off now!" she yelled to her guests.

"Alright! That's it! Party's over! Everyone, it's past your curfew so go home!" announced the officer when he was let in. Audrina stayed hidden behind the wall. She didn't know why. He knew that she lived here. "Where's Audrina? Audrey, I need to speak to you!" he called. Audrina reluctantly stepped out from her hiding place.

"I'm sorry, Greg. I know I'm not suppose to have a party while my parents are gone. You're not going to tell my parents, are you?" she asked.
Greg couldn't help but to stare sorrowfully at Audrina. "Audrey, could you step outside with me? There's something I have to tell you."

Greg led Audrey outside onto the porch after all her guests had left. "Audrey, something terrible has happened," said Greg.
"What do you mean? What happened?" asked Audrina, confused as to why he wasn't yelling at her for having the party.
Greg paused for a moment, then said, "Your mother was involved in a car accident last night. She was on her way to the party that they were attending. She lost complete control of her car and crashed into a telephone pole," he explained. "The impact of the crash killed her instantly."

Audrina could feel her heart beating rapidly while her knees shook uncontrollably. "No! N-no, it's n-not true!" she stuttered. "It can't be! She's not!" Greg could only give his apologies. He was still in shock himself. He had known her family ever since they first moved to Springfield when Audrina was just three-years-old. "My dad! Is he--?" she started to ask, but stopped when Greg shrugged.
"I don't know," he said.
"You don't know? What do you mean you don't know? They left together! They were going together!" yelled Audrina, now more confused than ever.
"There was no trace of him ever being in the car."

Audrina headed upstairs in a daze, ignoring the loud music that was still filling the air. As soon as she approached her brothers' room she soon realized that she would have to be the one to tell them that their mom was dead.

When she opened the door, she found herself in a darkened bedroom with two adorable, sleeping identical twins. She hadn't had the heart to waken them so she decided she would tell them first thing in the morning.

Audrina walked aimlessly into her bedroom and closed the door. She went over to her dressing area to change her clothes, but when she turned around towards her mirror, she suddenly saw her mother in herself. Her father always told her that she was the spitting image of her, but she never thought it was true until now. She had her eyes, her lips, and facial bone structure. "If only I had her beautiful blonde hair," she said out loud. Then without warning, she began to cry. She cried so hard that she cried herself to sleep that night.

The weekend was finally over and it was time for school. Audrina gave the boys the choice of whether they wanted to go or not. "I don't wanna go," cried Dean.
"I don't either," said Justin.
"Well we're not going to school today anyway. A nice lady is coming to take us to another home, remember?" Audrina asked, trying to comfort them. The boys nodded sadly. Greg had called Social Services the day after Audrina's mother died. He hated to had done that but Audrina was only sixteen and wasn't capable of living alone. "Come on. I'll make you guys some breakfast."
"Can we have pancakes?" asked Justin.
"I don't know how to make pancakes. How about cereal instead?" Audrina asked, trying to make cereal sound a lot better than pancakes.
"Mommy knew how to make pancakes real good," said Dean through sniffles. Audrina sighed. "Ok, I'll figure it out." She led the boys into the kitchen and she began to prepare breakfast. Before she was able to get the first batch into the skillet, the doorbell rang.

"Hi, Gina," said Audrina when she opened the door.
"Hey. Are you ok?" she asked. Audrina shrugged. "Well, I can't stay long. School, you know."
"I'll walk with you for a bit," said Audrina as she stepped outside. They walked down the street a bit and stopped at the end of her driveway. They stood in silence for a moment, uncertain of what to say to each other. Gina felt horrible. For once in her life, she didn't have any encouraging words for her best friend. What could she say? She never had anybody close to her die before.

"The social worker is coming today," said Audrina. She then reached into her left side pocket and pulled out a silver key. "Do me a favor. While we're gone, could you make sure nobody takes anything? You know, the important stuff?"
Gina took the key from Audrina's hand and nodded. "Well, I should probably go now before I'm late for class. I'll see ya?" asked Gina, even though she knew she probably won't see her best friend for a very long time.
"Yeah," said Audrina. They hugged each other tightly as if they were saving each other from drowning in a raging ocean.

Audrina watched as Gina faded into the distance. She was going to miss her best friend and knew she would never find another like her. Audrina was about to go back inside the house when she saw a lady pull up in her driveway in a light blue van. She's really early, she thought to herself.

The woman introduced herself as Ms. Mumford. She explained that she would be taking Audrina and her brothers into juvenile custody until a relative picks them up. "What other relatives do we have?" asked Dean. Audrina and Justin shrugged their shoulders. After the boys were dressed and everyone was packed it was time to go. They reluctantly followed Ms. Mumford to the van.

Audrina couldn't bring herself to taking one last look of her house when they pulled out of the driveway. It was weird how in just one weekend everything was takened away from them. They were now homeless, friendless, and parentless. All they had were each other and the little clothing they were allowed to bring with them.

Audrina hoped that she would come back and live in this house again some day. Some day when she's married and has children of her own. Some day when she has a career and becomes a well-known, high-society socialite like how her mother use to be. Use to be.

Nobody ever came and got Audrina or Justin and Dean after spending two days in juvenile custody. The news of the boys having to be transferred to an orphanage made Audrina hysterical. “No! You can’t take them! I promised them I’d never leave them! Nooo!” She cried and punched at anybody who came her way. Unfortunately her physical outburst had cost Audrina to spend the next four years of her life in a group home. That is until someone took her in.

Group home? The horrifying thought gave her chills. She had heard about those places but never thought in a million years that she would have to spend her teenage years in one. She remained in a state of shock as she was driven to Arbor Dale Group Home for Girls. She could feel her eyes getting warm but fought back the tears. She didn’t want to appear like a crybaby otherwise that would have been her nickname for the next four years. Crybaby.

Audrina was introduced to the head mistress, Ms. Rogers. She seemed nice, but there was still something mysterious about her. Audrina intensely studied the place as Ms. Rogers rambled on and on about the history of the home while leading her to her bedroom. The walls were ghostly white and the floors were made of ancient wood floor panels. Every step Audrina took, the floors creaked. So much for trying to escape, she thought as she noticed the only entrance and exit.

“Here we are,” said Ms. Rogers in a sing-song tone as they approached one of the many dark wooden doors. “Now, before I show you your room, I want to explain the rules to you. The rooms are freshly painted so there are to be no posters or anything on the walls. Bedtime is at 9pm and phone calls are between the hours of 1pm and 5pm. Now since you’re new you are not to use the phone for the first week. You have to earn that privilege.”
Audrina’s jaw dropped all the way to the floor. “What!? I can’t use the phone for a week? That hardly seems fair!” she exclaimed.
“Keep it up and it’ll be much longer. Also there are no visitors allowed. Although on the weekends there are trips that we take to parks, stores, etc.” Audrina sighed heavily. “Look, I know you’re going through a very hard time right now. But try to make the best of this situation, ok?”
No! It’s not ok! It sucks! she thought angrily to herself.

Ms. Rogers then opened the door to her new bedroom. “Go ahead,” she said, nodding towards the open door. Audrina slowly walked in. The room was so immaculate but it seemed so bare. Stripped of creativity and life. The walls were so white, Audrina felt as if she was trapped in a blank canvas, waiting for a painter to splash some color anywhere.

“I’ll leave you alone now. Dinner’s at six,” said Ms. Rogers and stepped out of the room. Audrina was finally alone to gather her thoughts. She couldn’t believe she had to be there; especially without her brothers. What must they think of me? She asked herself. They must hate me. She began to cry again.

“You know, it’s really not that bad,” said a voice behind her. She looked back to see a girl around her age standing at the door. “You’re new here, aren’t you?” she asked.
“Audrina. Audrina Syler. Who are you?”
“Amanda. No last name. Hey what do you know! Both of our names begin with an A!” she exclaimed happily. Audrina didn’t understand what was so intriguing about that.

Audrina studied the girl from head to toe from her black, scuffed Converse shoes to her black make-up to her jet black, frizzy hair. She was different. Really different. Different from her friends back at home.

“I’m your roommate. That’s my bed over there,” she said, pointing to the bed on the right. “I know this room isn’t much to look at. Hell, this whole place isn’t much to look at. Where are you from?” she asked.
“Springfield, Illinois. You?”
“I don’t know,” she thought. “Everywhere, I guess.” Amanda giggled at the sight of Audrina’s confusion. “I’ve been an orphan all my life.” Audrina nodded.

“You hungry? Dinner’s almost ready,” said Amanda as she opened the door.
“Uh yeah. I’ll uh…I’ll be down in a minute,” Audrina replied.
“Cool. I’ll save ya a seat,” she said and headed out the door. Audrina found herself staring off into space. Audrina let out a long sigh as she looked around the empty room. She was at least glad to know that she had a nice roommate. Weird, but nice. Please Dad. Please be ok so you can come and get me and the boys.

I've been in many different homes, but never a group one. (No, I'm not an orphan. But I've been from my parents house to my uncle's house to my grandmom's apartment and... etc. lol)

Audrina sat on the cold wooden floor beside her bed as she wrote vigorously into her diary. Now that it had been a year into her sentencing, she still was finding it incredibly hard to adapt. She often thought about how life would be if her mother hadn't died and if her father hadn't mysteriously disappeared. Her parents would probably be on some "business trip" in the Bahamas or Tahiti right now, Justin and Dean would have been starting the third grade, and her and Gina would've been in math class right about now, making fun of the math teacher as what they usually did. Audrina felt a tear slowly skate its way down her cheek as she thought of her brothers. She always had a soft spot for them. Even when they were really annoying.

And my father...what happened to him? Where is he? she thought. She often hoped that he would still come for her some day. She knew he wasn't dead. He was out there. Somewhere.

One good thing did come out of being in this place. Her and her roommate Amanda had grown to become really good friends. Best friends even. All those days and nights of being trapped in their dungeon made them realize that they weren't so different from each other after all.

It wasn't until one night when they were talking that Amanda had finally opened up to her and told her about her past. Audrina was shocked when she admitted of not being an orphan all her life. "Then you were living with your parents before you came here?" asked Audrina.
Amanda shook her head. "I was with my grandma, but then she died and I was left alone. One of our neighbors had called social services once they realized that I had been living in her house all by myself."
"What happened to your parents?" Audrina hated being so nosy but she wanted to try to help her friend as much as possible.
"My mom died when giving birth to me. I stayed with my dad til the age of ten. Living with him was the hardest thing I ever had to do. He would get so mad at every little thing. He hit me a lot, you know? He drank a lot, too. A lot."

Audrina and Amanda sat in silence. Audrina didn't know what to say. Now she knew how Gina felt that day when they were takened to juvenile custody. She had no idea that Amanda had been hurting so much. That explains a lot, thought Audrina. "I'm so sorry," was all she managed to say.
Amanda smiled. "Come on. We finally got our tv privileges now let's go use them!" she exclaimed as she got up from the floor. Audrina agreed and followed her friend downstairs into the rec room.

Chapter 3 ~ A Bump in the Night

Audrina woke up one night with another one of her nightmares. She had been having the same dream over and over again ever since the first night she came to the group home. She sat up in bed, rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, and let out a heavy sigh. She looked around the room, even though there wasn't much to look at, but the sleeping figure in the bed across the room. She wondered how her friend could sleep so peacefully every night in this hell hole.

"Great. Now I have to pee," she said annoyingly to herself. She got out of bed and tip-toed her way down the hall and over to the bathrooms, but when she approached the swinging door, all she could hear were groans and the sound of somone kicking.

She attempted to open the door to see what was going on, but before she had the chance, the door flung wide open and a girl ran out, almost knocking Audrina over. "Wait! Are you ok?" she called out to the girl, but the girl ran to the staircase to go downstairs instead of taking the elevator.

Just as she stepped inside the restroom, she saw a girl lying rock-still on the ground. She recognized the girl immediately. The girl's name was Michelle. She was fairly new there and couldn't keep a friend to save her life on account of her optomistic personality, which made the girls there very annoyed.

Audrina ran over to Michelle and said her name, but she didn't answer. She had bruises all over her face and her forehead was bleeding uncontrollably. "Michelle?" she shook the limp body again. Still no answer.

Audrina could feel her heart beating a mile a minute. What do I do? What do I do? she thought. She then realized what she had to do. It was the only thing to do. She couldn't leave her here, pretending that she didn't know anything about this. Audrina jumped up from the cold tile, ran out of the restroom and down the long, dark hall, screaming, "Help! Somebody help! Please!"

Audrina was called to the office that next morning. She sat in the waiting area as Ms. Mumford spoke with the girl Audrina saw running out of the restroom that night. She sat there in sorrow. She felt bad that she wasn’t there to defend Michelle. She didn’t know her that well, but knew she was a very sweet person. She promised herself she would make an effort to get to know her better when she gets back from the hospital.

The girl came out of Ms. Mumford’s office and went into the library. She didn’t even look at me. How can somebody be so cruel? I bet she feels no remorse at all. She thought.

Ms. Mumford came out of her office and called Audrina inside. Ms. Mumford sat at her desk and stared inexplicably at her. “Audrina, do you know why you’re here?” she asked.

“No.”

“Well, let me tell you then. I just spoke with Trina, and she told me that she saw you physically fighting with Michelle last night. She ran to my bedroom last night and was extremely upset at what she had seen. Now you explain yourself, Ms. Syler!”

“What?! But I didn’t…I didn’t do anything! It was her! I saw her beat that girl up! As soon as she saw me she ran out of the restroom!” Audrina exclaimed, more upset than ever.

Ms. Mumford scowled. “Really, Audrina! You expect me to believe you? Does that explain why her blood was on your hands?”

“It must’ve gotten on me from when I touched her,” she thought out loud. “I swear, Ms. Mumford. I didn’t do anything!”

“Audrina, I can’t have this sort of behavior happen again! I have made arrangements for you to be transferred to another home. I’m afraid you are no longer welcome at Arbor Dale Group Home. Follow me,” she said, sternly and walked out of the office.

Audrina followed her into the front area. Ms. Mumford turned abruptly towards her and said, “Wait here while I call for a taxi. Someone will be down in a minute with your things all packed.”

"Wait, is Michelle ok?"
"No. She's in a coma," said Ms. Mumford in disgust. She then spun on her heels and walked back into her office.

In a coma?! Audrina sat tautly in the chair. She looked over at the main entrance then quickly scanned around the room. The room was empty. She thought of escaping, except that the very thought made her extremely nervous. But I have to! She thought. I’m not going to another group home. The thought of her attending elsewhere made her blood boil. Her skin felt hot and her face turned red. Next thing she knew she was dashing rapidly out the door.

This is a very good story so far! I love Audrey's expressions, they're so realistic. I can only find one problem, or rather, the same problem twice. In chapter 1, part 2, and in ch. 2, you switch from third person to first person...it's a small thing but I am obsessive about that type of thing. But other than that, it's fantastic, and I can't wait for the next bit!

Chapter 4 ~ Hero

It was a long, dismal day that made Ethan just want to go home and crawl into bed. The outcome of the day left him unemployed and penniless. The familiar questions of how he was going to pay his bills once again came to mind as he turned the corner of 42nd street.

As he approached a stop sign, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He turned to his right and noticed someone lying in a dark alley. Normally he wouldn't have given it anymore thought due to the alley being a popular place for the homeless guys to sleep, but this time what Ethan saw wasn't just any other homeless guy. It was a young girl.

Ethan slowly pulled over and put his emergency blinkers on as he got out of his truck and tip-toed his way to the girl. Not knowing if the girl was dead or not, he knelt down in front of her to see if she was moving. He let out a strong sigh when he noticed the rising and falling of her chest inhaling and exhaling with air.

"What should I do?" he asked himself as he contemplated on his next move. He hurriedly looked around the alley, which was filled with old bags, empty aluminum cans, two dumpsters down the way, trash was scattered everywhere as if a twister had just rushed through here, and of course there were a couple of homeless guys across the way.

Without hesitating, he carefully scooped the girl in his arms without waking her and carried her to his truck. He didn't know if she was under age or not so he didn't want to take her to the police and if he took her to the emergency room, they would be there all night long. There didn't seem to be anything physically wrong with her, but then again, how could he tell?

There was only one logical thing to do and Ethan prayed to God that that was the right decision to make.

Blinded by the bright sunlight, Audrina slowly pried her eyes open to the bare, grungy walls that stood all around her. She quickly rose from the raggedy blue, striped couch and looked around what seemed to be a living room.

Scared and confused, Audrina ran to the front door, but before she could even open the door she heard a man’s voice behind her. “Hey. Where you goin’?” he asked.

She spun around and stood in a fighting stance. “Who are you and why am I here?” she asked, which sounded more like a demand.

“I saw you sleepin’ in the alley last night. I didn’t know if you were ok so I brought you here.”

“Well, if you think that I’m gonna return the favor by sleeping with you then you got another think coming!”
“Whoa, whoa! Wait a minute now! I’m not expecting anythin’! I just didn’t want you to be out there all alone like that. That ain’t exactly a safe place for you to be, you know?”

Audrina frowned. “I can take care of myself!” she snapped.

“Chill, girl! No one said you couldn’t.” Ethan stared at the girl and then chuckled to himself. “You actually thought that I was going to hurt you?” he laughed some more, this time a little louder. Audrina glared at him. “I can’t even kill a spider without feeling bad! But uh…don’t tell anyone I told you that, though.” He said with a smirk.

Audrina studied Ethan. She was starting to realize that this city was full of people who looked extremely different from the people that she grew up with. She had to admit he didn’t seem that dangerous. “Wait a minute,” she said, putting her hand out to prevent Ethan from coming any closer. “You still didn’t answer my question. Who are you and why didn’t you just take me to the hospital or something like any other normal person would do?”

“’Cause I ain’t normal,” he said matter-of-factly. “And I’m Ethan,” he added. Audrina couldn’t help but to smile at his dimwitted charm.

Audrina wandered around the living room, looking at whatever that was there to look at, which was not much. Ethan continued to stare at the girl. There was something about her that was mesmerizing. “You never told me your name,” he said, hoping she trusted him enough to give him that much.

“Audrina. Audrey, for short,” she replied, still studying the room.
Ethan nodded. “So tell me…Audrey…Why were you in the alley late at night like that? I mean where do you live? How old are you?”

“Whoa ok, Columbo! Calm down with the questions there.”

“Sorry,” said Ethan. “I’m just curious.”

“Curious, huh? You don’t care! No one in this damn city cares!”

“Ok. I’m sorry I asked. But I am curious. It’s not every day that I walk across a girl in the alley. I’m just worried about you,” he said apologetically.

Audrina stared at him incredulously. “Fine,” she said after what seemed to be an hour to Ethan. “I was in the alley because I didn’t have anyplace else to go. I use to live at the Arbor Dale Group Home for Girls, but I ran away when they tried to transfer me to another home after I witnessed a brutal fight. And I’m sixteen.”

Ethan stared in awe. “Why would they kick you out for witnessin’ a fight?” he asked.

“One of the girls ended up in the hospital and the other girl told the headmistress that I did it,” she said.

“Did you?”

“No! Do I look like somebody that would hurt someone?” she asked.

Ethan stared. “Yeah.” Audrina smiled. “Look, I’m hungry. Wanna go get somethin’ to eat? My treat.” he asked. Audrina nodded.

Audrina was surprised by his generosity. “Thank you,” she said. Ethan smiled and he excused himself to put on some clothes. By the time he came out of his room, Audrina was now on the verge of starvation.

“Ready?” he asked her as he grabbed his wallet. Audrina nodded. “Maybe get you some new clothes or somethin’ ‘cause honestly girl, I’ve only known you for half a day and I’m already sick of that black tank top and those awful plaid pants!” Audrina finally laughed as they walked out of the apartment.

One month later...


After standing at the cashier for eight long hours, Audrina's aching feet were glad to have those meager five minutes of rest as she drove back to Ethan's place. Her new job at the local market was demanding, but the salary was good enough to help pay for the utilities at the apartment. Ethan had also found a good-paying job as a golf caddy for the high-class society who resided in the upper-class neighborhoods. Seeing that Ethan was now being picked up by a limo every morning left Audrina with guaranteed transportation with Ethan's truck every day. Which means that the amount of time it takes her to get home was now cut her time in half.

Audrina walked into the apartment and noticed her new friend's absense. He's probably still at work, she thought to herself as she tossed her purse on the computer chair and plopped herself down on the sofa to watch some tv. She sat in awe as the channel 7 news anchor woman told a story of a child who was stuck in a well in a town not too far from where she was. Once she realized the child was alright, she let out a small chuckle. "Where were that child's parents?" she asked out loud.


Right before she was about to change the channel, another story began to brew:

In other news, a man, by the name of Nathan Syler, was arrested
earlier today from his home in Grand Heights for the murder of
his first wife, Lindsey Syler. Her body was found in the middle
of the woods by a man and his bloodhound. The man was walking
his dog alongside of the road, when the bloodhound started
frantically sniffing its way to her body. The woman appeared
to have been in the woods for almost a year and a half now.

Audrina sat rock-still. My father? My father killed her? No, it's all wrong! It's wrong! The gruesome information that was broadcasted all over the United States to hear was ringing in her ears. The words echoed deafeningly in her brain. The mug shot of her father was boldly displayed on the screen. He doesn't look the same, she thought. He looks...evil.

His eyes were mean. Disturbed. Unremorseful. The sight of his dark eyes made her stomach turn. Her vision became blurry. Her face started to become heated. Next thing she knew, everything went dark.

Once you've pressed the TAB key, you can adjust your image by pressing the "Q" button to go down, the "E" button to go up, the "Z" to zoom in, and the "X" to zoom out. Chapter 6 ~ Changes, Pt. 1

It was around eleven o'clock when Ethan arrived home that night. He was definitely glad to be in his rundown, yet comfortable pad than carrying heavy golf clubs on his shoulders all day. As he approached his front door, he was hoping that Audrina was home already. He had to admit, the sight of a beautiful creature was worth coming home to; even though she didn't know it. But when he entered his apartment, it was empty. That’s strange , he thought to himself. She’s normally home by now.

Ethan walked into his bedroom and put his keys on his dresser before he heard a thump coming from his bathroom. He listened more carefully, pressing his ear against the bathroom door. This time, he heard a low sigh. He gently opened the door and scanned the bathroom. He didn’t see anyone but heard a soft wimper coming from the shower area. “Audrina?” he asked. No answer.

"Audrey! You ok?" he asked when he saw Audrina sitting up against the shower wall, naked and wet. Her eyes were vacant as tears intertwined with her black mascara and trickled its way down her soft, peach-tone skin.

"Audrey?" No answer. She continued to stare off into space. Then something caught Ethan's eye.

A week had gone by since the night Ethan had found her bleeding in the shower. Ever since then, she had been trying to avoid him at all costs. She felt bad for ignoring him, but couldn’t find herself to confront him about it. The least she could do was thank him for allowing her to sleep in his bed. “A couch is no place for a woman, anyway,” he had told her. A woman? Was that how he sees me? As a woman?

“Well as a woman, I better go take a shower,” she said to herself. She grabbed some towels and a washcloth out of the bathroom cupboard and her bag that was full of her toiletries. After she spread her stuff all onto the counter, she pulled out a hair dye kit she had bought at the drugstore earlier that week. It was now time for a change. She decided she no longer wanted to be reminded of her father every time she looked at her chocolate brown hair. Instead, she wanted the golden locks of her mother.

The warm shower left Audrina feeling ten times better. She slipped into a pair of shorts and a matching shirt and headed to the living room/dining room to see if Ethan was anywhere in sight. Just as she walked out of the bedroom, Ethan was coming out of the kitchen. “Hey!” she said, more cheerfully than usual.

“Hey! You…you look different,” he replied.

Audrina chuckled. “Yeah well, I needed a change.”

Ethan gazed at Audrina. “Sorry, I’m starin’,” he said when he noticed Audrina’s unease. “It’s just that, uh…you uh…look very…beautiful.” Ethan felt a little embarrassed after saying this. He wasn’t exactly one for giving compliments.

“Thanks,” she said, feeling herself blushing by the second. “Um…I just wanted to apologize for the way I’ve been acting. You’ve been so sweet to me and I’ve been such an ass lately. It’s just that, you know, the whole seeing-me-naked-in-the-shower-thing is kinda embarrassing.”

“You have nothin’ to be embarrassed about. You look good.” Oh, my God! Did I just say that to her? He thought. “I mean, it’s fine. Not that you don’t look good, ‘cause you do, I’m just sayin’ the situation is…fine.” Ethan, just shut up!

Audrina smiled at Ethan’s discomfort. “So you’re not weirded out about what you saw? I mean this,” she asked, pointing to the scar on her wrist.

“Nah, girl. I mean I am concerned. Very concerned. But I do understand. I had a sister that use to cut herself, too.”

“Use to?” she asked.

“Yeah. She uh…committed suicide about four years ago. We had a pretty hard life growin’ up. Both of our parents were alcoholics and abusive. So I ran away at about your age, but my sister was afraid to leave in fear that our father would catch us. So she stayed and overdosed on pain killers.”

“Wow. I’m so sorry,” said Audrina. Ethan shrugged. “I don’t usually cut myself. It’s just that everything sucks right now, you know? I mean, I lost both of my parents, my brothers, my two closest friends. I feel so alone!” Audrina couldn’t help the tears that came rushing out of her. Ethan immediately put his arms around her.

“Everything’s gonna be ok,” he assured her. “It’s gonna take some time, but it will be ok. And you’re not alone. You got me.” Audrina looked up into his eyes as if trying to discover lies, but there was nothing to be found but the truth. This man was pure. Sweet. Caring. His smile sent chills down her spine. She had never felt this way about anyone before. “Now c’mon. Get dress. I’m taking you out. We’ll get some dinner and maybe go bowling or somethin’. Does that sound good?” he asked.

Audrina nodded and ran back into the bedroom to change. She was so excited she couldn’t think straight. She was definitely falling for him. But was he falling for her?

I find that a lot of these stories are based off of people's real life events.

Chapter 7 ~ A Night To Remember, Pt. 1

Ethan and Audrina arrived at the Londoste restaurant, which was one of the most finest restaurant in StoneBrook. It was beautifully decorated with dark colored walls and cherry wood accenting everything.

They were seated by candlelight in a private secluded area. Audrina had gotten the feeling that the hostess new the potential couple between her and Ethan for when they arrived, the hostess immediately smiled.

She thought Ethan looked amazing that night. She saw a side of him that she had never seen before. He flirted with her every chance he got. Whether it was just a simple touch of the hand or playful banter, she was loving every minute of it.

After dinner, Ethan took Audrina to a bowling alley that was right across the street from the restaurant. They bowled a few games and then attacked the arcade area where Ethan fought vigorously against the alien pinball machine. He has to be the most sexiest man on Earth, she thought to herself as she watched him in admiration. She loved how his nostrils flared every time he launched the ball aka "missile".

"Well, what do we do now?" asked Audrina when Ethan was done playing his last game of pinball.
Ethan thought for a moment. "Well, we can go for a walk in the park. I know of a very nice one," he suggested. Audrina agreed to go and they walked to the car.

Chapter 7 ~ A Night To Remember, Pt. 2

When they arrived at the park, they began walking along the park, gazing at the large trees and the beautiful duck pond. Audrina noticed that there were other couples at the park, too; walking hand-in-hand. She desperately wanted to take Ethan's hand, but wasn't quite sure how he would react. Ethan noticed her looking at the other couples in desperation so he immediately mimicked what the others were doing. Audrina smiled when he took her hand into his and led her to a little bench.

As they sat down, Ethan immediately put his arm around her. Audrina smiled and leaned in towards him. "Are you having fun?" he asked.
Audrina nodded. "Yes. I really am."
"Good," he said as he pulled her in closer to him and rested his hand on her thigh.

Then it happened. The one moment that Ethan had been wanting to happen ever since he first laid eyes on her. Her lips were so soft and tender, that he didn't want to stop. Audrina could feel tingling electrify her body when Ethan pulled her onto his lap. I can't believe this is happening, she thought.

Once the kiss ended, Ethan stared deeply into her bright, emerald green eyes. She was a beautiful sight for sore eyes. Ethan had never been this happy with a girl before in his life. Looking into her eyes made him extremely glad that she only had two more months to go before she turned eighteen. Not that the age difference wasn't that bad. He was only twenty-one.

"Audrey," he said after about five minutes of silence.

"Hmm?"

"I--uh...," Ethan rubbed the back of his neck nervously. How could he tell her? How would she take it? Ethan just decided to tell her straight out. "Audrey, I love you!" he blurted it out so quickly that he wasn't sure if she even understood it.

Audrina stared blankly at him. He couldn't tell what she was thinking at that moment, which made his heart race a mile a minute. This is it. It's over. I made a complete fool of myself, he thought to himself as Audrina tried to comprehend what was just said. "I love you, too, Ethan," she said timidly. They stared at each other in disbelief. Then before, Audrina knew it, Ethan squeezed her tightly in his arms. She could hardly breath, but didn't care. She finally had someone in her life who loved and cared for her.

They continued thier cuddling fest when they got home late that night. She never wanted to leave his arms and he never wanted to let go. She daydreamed about them being married one day in their huge house with their three beautiful children running around crazily in the backyard with their dog. Yes, she wanted three kids. Maybe all girls. No wait, two girls and a boy! Maybe all boys! Oh, who cares. As long as Ethan was the father, it didn't matter to her what she had.

Ethan interupted Audrina's daydreams as he leaned forward and planted a huge kiss to her lips. Audrina's body suddenly became warm as Ethan's hands explored every part of her body. This surprised her, but she didn't stop him. She felt comfortable with him and really comfortable with the fact that her first time would be with someone she was in love with.

"This is by far the best night of my life," she whispered in Ethan's ear as she wrapped her arms around him.
"I'm glad I could be a part of it," he whispered back as he kissed her hand and they both fell fast asleep, dreaming of what could be.

Chapter 8 ~ Three Years Later

Five years had gone by since he'd last seen his estranged father. Although he was slightly happy to be seeing him again, he'd never thought in a million years that their reunion would ever be in a prison.

I feel like I'm in an insane asylum, he thought to himself. He reluctantly followed the guard down many halls to where his father was. After seeing how secured everything was made him a little on edge. The upkeep of the place didn't help ease his nerves either. The walls were white and dingy as if they hadn't been scrubbed since the prison first opened and the floors were a dark grey color and sticky in some areas.

"Scary story, wasn't it?" asked the guard while he kept his gaze forward.

"Huh?"

"Scary about what happened. With your parents, I mean. It must be hard for you."

The boy kept quiet. He preferred not to speak about it to anyone. Not even to a prison guard. It was a family secret and it was to remain a family secret. Even if there wasn't a family anymore.

"So you're his son?" asked the guard once they arrived to the meeting room.

"Yes," said the boy, quietly.

The guard nodded and then pointed to the boy's father, waiting patiently at a table for his arrival. The boy stared at his father. "Go on," said the guard, ushering the young man towards the table.

"Uh...hi," said the boy when he approached the table.

"Justin! Look at you!" said Nathan as he looked up at his well-grown teenage son. "I haven't seen you since you were what? Nine? How you been? Sit down."

Justin slowly sat down across from his father. "I've been ok, I guess. You?"

"Oh, I'm fine," he replied. "Tell me, what have you been up to? Any girlfriends?"

"No. Just school."

"Oh, that's good. Stay in school no matter what!" warned his father with a wink of his eye.

Justin sat quietly as his father examined his every move. "How's your sister and brother?" he asked after a minute of silence went by.

"Umm...I don't know. I haven't seen Dean since I was adopted from the group home we were at. And Audrey...I haven't seen her since we were takened into custody."

"Yeah, I heard on the news that she had ran away from her group home about four years ago. They never found her. I hope she's ok," he said, which to Justin seemed a bit phony.

No, you don't, Justin thought. You wish we were all dead, too.
"I saw your wife yesterday. She says hi. Your kids are getting quite big," said Justin coldly, staring at the ground.

Nathan held his breath. "Uh, yeah. They're great kids. You know after your mother died--"

"You mean was murdered?"

"Y-yeah. I thought I could never love anyone else. Until I met Sarah. Well you know, things happened and before I knew it, we fell in love, got married, and had Mike and Emma."

"You mean you left to go start a brand new family without us?!" exclaimed Justin.

"It wasn't like that! I wanted to come back! I did, but it was--"

"No, no I get it, Dad! It was too painful for you to look into our eyes and see mom, so you decided it was best to abandon us, meet someone else, and start a whole new family again! Or did you already know her?" Justin could feel his blood boil. People started turning their attention on them to see what the commotion was all about. The guards gestured for him to keep it down. Nathan nodded and turned back to his angry son.

Nathan sat quietly for a moment. "She was my secretary," he said quietly.

"For some reason, that doesn't surprise me. I bet you've been cheating on mom our whole lives," he said.

Nathan felt himself getting angrier by the second. Justin folded his arms and lowered his head. He found it very difficult to look his father in the eye. He had lost all respect for him. The guy he once knew as a hero was now a murderer. A murderer who killed their mother. And now there was just one thing he needed to know.

Three o'clock in the afternoon was around the time Justin normally got home every day, but this particular day was slightly different. During his political science class, Justin started feeling physically ill. Once he saw the school nurse, she phoned his adoptive mother and he was immediately told to go home.

As he entered the finished basement of his adoptive parents' three-story house, he saw Skittles, the family dog nipping at the couches as usual. The name Skittles was given to the dog by his little sister, Danity a few months after Justin was adopted into their home. Skittles was and still is Danity's favorite candy and thought it was the perfect name.

"Hey girl! What are you doing down here?" he asked. He sat his stuff down on a desk and rubbed his dog's belly. "Gosh, this place is a mess," he told himself after playfully teasing Skittles.

He didn't know why he was so shocked about the dirty house. The house was always dirty with there being eight kids and all. Not to mention there was one of the way. I swear this lady is obsessed with kids, he thought to himself as he cleaned a empty, filthy birdcage. The bird had died five days ago and nobody even bothered to clean it?

After an hour of cleaning, he decided to take a long shower. He rushed upstairs and hopped in the shower. The hot, steaming water pounding on the back of his neck made him feel ten times better. He couldn't help to think about what his father said when he went to go see him in jail two weeks ago. Ask George? What does George have to do with anything? He hasn't seen him since he was eight years old.

His thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the distant sound of the doorbell. "Damn," he whispered as he turned off the water and stepped out of the shower.

He quickly threw on some clothes, shoes, and combed his hair back. It's probably Danity who forgot her keys again, he thought as he remembered the first time that happened. Danity had gotten home from ballet class and nobody was home. She had to go to the new neighbors' house and stay there until someone came home. Unfortunately for Danity, she found out that the new neighbors consists of a boy around the same age as her who was highly obsessd with her. Needless to say, that boy ended up being Danity's date at their Welcome Back dance in their first year of junior high.

"Coming!" he called out as he lazily made his way to the front door. When he reached the bottom of the staircase, he stopped and fixed his eyes through the glass of the front door. He wanted to play a little prank on Danity if it was her, but to Justin's surprise...it wasn't Danity.

Justin couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His eyes had to be deceiving him. He could feel his heart beating rapidly with excitement and his brain jumbling with confusion.

It had to be.

It couldn’t be.

It was.

At a snail’s pace, he made his way closer to the front door. His eyes still fixed on the woman standing on the other side, staring right back at him. She looked so much like his mother to him that he wanted to cry. Oh how he wished it really was his mother standing on the other side of that door. But still, he was just as glad to see the next best thing. Audrina.

He finally opened the door and examined every bit of her. She did the same. Then with the same warm smile that their mother use to give, she said, “Hey Justy!”

Justin’s eyes filled with tears as he leaped at her and held onto her with dear life. She was here. She was finally here and now he would never lose her ever again. “I missed you so much,” he whispered as he tightened his grip.

“I missed you too!” she exclaimed through tears herself.

After their warm greets, Justin led Audrina into their dining area where they sat and had a heartfelt chat. Justin told her what happened to him after she was shipped to a group home and Audrina told him what’s been going on in her life as well. “So now Ethan and I are engaged and plan on moving into a real home in a few months,” she said.

“Wow, you’ve been through a lot,” said Justin.

“I just hope Dean hasn’t been through anything worse,” replied Audrina. Justin nodded. “How are these people?” she asked, referring to Justin’s adoptive parents.

“They’re really nice. You know when they adopted me, there was only one kid living here and now they have eight altogether, excluding one in the oven!”

Audrina giggled. “Really?” Justin nodded. “They really love kids, don’t they?”

“Yeah,” he replied.

They sat in silence for what seemed like an hour to the both of them. Then Audrina noticed Justin’s demeanor changed instantly. “What?” she asked.

“I saw Dad two weeks ago.”

“You did?!” Audrina gasped. “What did he say? How was he?”

“I asked if he killed her.”

“…And?” she asked, impatiently. Justin looked up at her with sorrowful eyes. Audrina hugged herself to stop the shivering. She had always suspected it, but never was sure. There were moments in their lives when their parents fought horribly. It usually ended up with their mother taking her and her brothers to their grandmother’s house until things got better. And then as the years went by, the fighting got worse and soon enough, their mother stopped taking them with her.

“Audrey, we have to find Dean! Like right now!” exclaimed Justin.

“Find him? How are we going to find him? He could be anywhere! Even in another country!”

“I know, but I will never be the same if I don’t find him,” Justin suddenly felt weak. The thought of his missing identical twin always made him feeling sick to his stomach.

Audrina rose from the chair and wandered over to the large window overlooking the two-way street. “Look Justy. I know how you feel. I want to find him, too! But it might take a very, very long time to find him. I don’t even know where to begin.”

“We could start by going back home. It’s about five hours from here, but I’m sure someone there can tell us.”

“Yeah? And who might that be?” Audrina asked cynically.

Justin reflected on his sister’s question intensely, and then suddenly a light bulb went on inside his head. “Greg!” he said, almost yelling it.

“Greg?”

“When I asked Dad why he killed Mom, he told me to ask him.”

“You sure?” she asked, completely confused. Justin nodded. Audrina pondered what possibly could Greg know. She continued to stare out the window. She almost forgot that Ethan had been waiting outside this whole time, then the thought of Ethan gave her an idea. “Ok. We’ll do it,” she said without turning around.

“You will?” he asked excitedly.

“Only on two conditions! One, that Ethan goes with us. And two, that we wait til school’s out for you.”

“What? That’s in three weeks!”

“Exactly,” she said in deep thought.

“Exactly what?” he asked.

I mean, I was kinda nervous about it...You made one single mistake, stormy...in the second paragraph, you wrote "Skittles was and still is Danity's favorite candy and thought it was the perfect name.", shouldn't it be "Skittles was Danity's favorite candy, and she thought it was the perfect name." ? I dunno, the "still is" bit slips into present tense, but it could stay if you want. Sorry if I'm being picky, I am a nut case.
In any case, the pictures are up to their usual brilliant standards, especially the one with Audrey hugging herself. How did you pull that off!? It's awesome!

:!: It turns out that I don't have to be hospitalized after all. My foot is a little infected though so he put a cast on and I have to keep it elevated. Which also means that I won't be updating anytime soon because those sims are only my desktop. I have a laptop and will be able to check in every day though. OH MY GOSH! *heals stormy's foot* Everybody get healing cream and start rubing her foot now! I remember when I broke my foot right on the growth plate I broke it in two :blink: I had to stay in a boot cast for 8 months then I re-broke it 7 and 2 weeks later again so whoo hoo another 8 months so 16 months in a boot because I slipped and fell so I know how you feel please don't rush anything cuz when I did it made things worse I hit my leg everywhere please please please be careful! I know it had to hurt I went through it too just please take your time for everything make your next door neighbor cook your food :D just gosh I know how it feels but I still hit my leg on the corner of my wall door and bed lol I lost feeling in my shine bone a little because I hit it so hard grrrrrrrrr but anyhoo, I just can't tell you enough please take your time on everything I'd rather wait on the chapter and have your foot heal than to wait for your foot and get the chapter please be careful *huggles and kizzez* we love ya!

I was going to make this a 4-part chapter, but I'm having some difficulties, so here's a short chapter 10! Chapter 11 will be posted by next week definitely!



Chapter 10: The Big News, Pt. 1

The three weeks frantically whizzed by as Audrina and Justin planned for their trip to Springfield. The thought of two more days left until Justin's summer vacation left Audrina feeling sick to her stomach. No, that wasn't it. It was the half-cooked pancakes that swam in a lake of sugary maple syrup that Ethan made that morning.

Audrina could feel her stomach muscles tense up as they normally did right before she spills out her bodily organs into the porcelin peep hole. She started towards the toilet in preparation to hurl, but in mid-step, the nausea vanished. "False alarm," she said to herself as she straightened her hair out.

"Hey Eth." Audrina greeted as she walked out of the bedroom.
"Mm. Hey," he mumbled as he kept his gaze on the computer. Audrina walked over to him and leaned against the wall. "Umm...I'm not feeling too well, so I think I'm going to go see a doctor."

Ethan looked up at his fiancee. "What's wrong?"
"Oh, nothing really. Just been a little nausous. I think I may have the flu," she replied.
"Alright, lemme get a shirt on and I'll take you," he said as he started to get up from his chair.
"No, it's fine! I'll be ok. It should only take thirty minutes top," she said reassuringly.
Ethan stared at her for a moment. Audrina smiled. She knew that he knew something was up. The thing was not to let him figure it out before she told him. "Alright," he said, trying to read her mysterious eyes. Audrina kissed him goodbye and headed out the door.

It wasn't until she pulled into the driveway of Dr. Banks' office that the nausea returned. She thought about throwing up in the bushes nearby, but was afraid of people seeing her and calling security. Then she thought about making a run for the ladies room, but then she realized that by the time she even found the restroom, it would've been too late. She grabbed her purse from the passenger seat and rummaged through it in hopes as to finding the one thing that always made her nausea go away. Gum.

An hour had passed since she was called into the examining room. The nonchalant Dr. Banks came in, asked Audrina a million and one questions, and let out a an occasional "uh-huh" and "I see" as he wrote feriously into her chart. After she finished telling him all of her symptoms, he told her that he would need a urine sample. Audrina froze. Oh God! It's true! she thought.
"It's standard procedure when someone's been feeling nausous for that long period of time," he explained when he noticed her confusion. He handed her a small, transparent cup with a blue lid and pointed to where the restrooms were.

Twenty minutes later, Dr. Banks came back into Audrina's examining room and sat down on a stool in front of her. He didn't speak for a moment. He took another quick peek at Audrina's chart again. The silence and anticipation was killing her. If this man doesn't tell me what's wrong, I'll wring his little head until his brains start seeping out of his large ears! she thought. It wasn't like she didn't know what was wrong, but for some reason she just couldn't take the silence. She needed to hear it out loud. From somebody else.

"Ms. Syler, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. You're fine," he finally said after what seemed to be an hour of silence.
"I know," she said, staring off into space.
"You do?" he asked.
Audrina nodded. "I'm pregnant, aren't I?"

“You haven’t moved since I left?” asked Audrina when she returned home.
“Huh? Oh uh…no. There’s no need to. This is my day off, remember?” he asked smugly.
Audrina giggled. “Yes, I remember.”
“So is everything ok? What did the doc say?”
“Oh um…I’m fine,” she said.
“You’re fine? If you’re fine, then why have you been so nauseous?”

“Well….because….I’m pregnant.”
“Don’t kid, girl! You serious?!” he exclaimed happily, nearly knocking the chair behind him over.
“You’re happy?” she asked, stunned at his reaction. She honestly didn’t know how he felt about having children. She didn’t even know how she felt. They were both still young and their financial situation wasn’t all that great. Also, the fact that Ethan never mentioned having children made Audrina extremely nervous.
“Hell yeah, I’m happy!” Ethan squeezed Audrina in a tight bear hug. “This is gonna be great! I’ll make the perfect husband and father! I promise you that!”

Audrina’s tear ducts started getting warmer by the second. She couldn’t believe something exciting was finally happening to her. First an engagement; now a baby. The only thing missing was Dean.

I’ll find him, she thought. I’ll find him if it’s the last thing I do!
