Welcome to Para Anoma, a sim-making contest unlike any other! This contest will challenge the new to contests and the veterans, the sim-downloaders and the sim-makers alike. (NOTE: Downloading sims is not allowed and will result in your immediate expulsion from the contest if you do so.)

There will be five rounds in this contest, excluding the application round and the bonus round. The Application Round will be easy, much like all the others. However, it will begin to stretch your imagination and may require some internet searching to find names! Each of the following rounds will bring new ideas and aspects to the contest.

Elimination Policy
There will be no eliminations here, but you should think anyway before entering the contest. If you drop out, you will make me very sad. You do not have to do every round, but if you decide not to do a round or you miss the deadline you will receive a zero. You may make up points by doing a round later, but you cannot get more than 50% of the points back. If this is confusing, ask and I will try to answer. Since there are no eliminations, the winner will be based on the amount of points he/she has accumulated from their round entries.

What Are The Rounds Going To Be Like?
In each round, you will be asked to make a sim with a particular name. You may or may not be given a specific age to make the sim, and you may or may not have other specifications that you need to apply to. You will need a both pictures and a description to accompany each round, but the details of the writing and photography will change each round.

Don’t Worry
Do not worry if these descriptions seem rather vague! I’ll post more specific information about each round a day or two before it begins explaining exactly what you will be doing, how many pictures, etc. etc. Please take the time to read through the instructions thoroughly before asking questions. If you need a question answered immediately, your best bet is to post it on the thread and to PM me about it. Thanks!

Judging
You will be judged on many things in order to assess each round thoroughly. I personally like having a bit of the personal taste of the judge in the mix, so I allowed for that, too.

GENERAL RULES
* While some chatter is fun, useful, and nice to read, if it gets overloaded then I will make a specific chatter thread. If I do, you must stick to it.
* Custom Content usage is limited for each round, with the specifications being posted with the rules for the round.
* Each entry must have as a minimum the amount of sentences listed on the top of the page. No maximum; the more, the better!
* Photo editing is allowed. However, you may not edit anything that you had to create for the challenge, whether in rounds or your application. Some things you can edit: the expression on a passerby’s face, the sky, a flyer, etc.
*All sims must be made in Bodyshop or in CAS, unless otherwise specified.
*You must adhere, at all times, to the main contest forum rules.

Make two sims, any age, but with a few rules:

For The Female
-their first name must start with "Ja"
-their last name must end with "W"

For The Male
-their first name must start with "Bl"
-their last name must end with "Y"

For Both
-There is no custom content limit or restrictions. However, you will recive one bonus point for using no CC other than eyes, eyebrows, skin, hair, or clothes
-the two sims may not be the same age
-please give them a minimum of a four-sentence biography. No specifications on what it must contain, but it must be in first person (ex. I was born in New York in 1989.)
-take at least three photos, one with a closeup of their face and the other where you can see their whole body, and then at least one other picture of them at any age. Maximum of eight in-post pictures, no limit on linked photos.
-you must post at least three in-post pictures. If you need to link them bigger, you may. Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis.
-maximum two applications per person. They will be judged separately.

I hail from the not-so-mean streets of a suburb of Austin, TX and I now make my home in the fine city of Washington DC, where I work as a bartender when I'm not writing poetry or playing in the band The Yellow Dogs. Hello, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Jadviga Shaw, and I am the owner of Shaw Imports, a prosperous company headquartered in New York City, with branch offices in Mexico City, San Paulo, and London. I suppose I seem to have something of a dual personality, though I certainly don't have any psychological disorders. I'm a very sweet and loving person in my personal life, and I adore spoiling my three beautiful grandchildren. I'm creating a new (semi-themed) neighborhood, and this might help me work on some more of the population I need to make. Do the sims have to be completely human? And does it matter if we have installed default face templates? My husband doesn't want to remove them.

Waroruri: you need to have made at least 5 posts in order to post a picture. Once you have done that, upload your pictures somewhere like Image shack or photobucket. It will show you a list of codes to copy and paste to post your picture. There is a tutorial on posting pictures stickied in the Pictures board.

I don't know where he got them, but I think they are on MTS2. They change the base faces so the townies will look a bit better. They also modify the base faces from Bodyshop and CAS, but it doesn't show as much because they get modified a lot when you are making a sim anyway.

I don't know if these are the ones I have or not.(It was my husband who added them) They give you an idea of how they affect the base faces though.

But the sliders and (as far as I can tell) the normal Maxis noses, ears, eyes, eyebrows, chins, etc. that you can add to it later remain untouched. By the time a sim is finished there isn't much left of the base template anyway.

I'm going to have things getting hectic in a week or two, but I would like to enter.

Does the CC limitation extend to walls and floors? I made my girl and her father, moved them into a house in my Downtown area, then realized that all my starter homes Downtown have CC walls and floors because most of the Maxis walls and floors that are "legal" in that country are either too expensive for a starter home, or kind of dull.


I just remembered another helpful tip for waroruri that was given to me when I was new:

Write the text part of your post in Notepad (or whatever the Mac equivalent is. The one that doesn't add any formatting codes.)
Turn Word Wrap OFF before saving!
Now spell check it, re-read it, make sure you are happy with it, etc. and "Copy" it.
Log into the site, "Paste" it into the Reply field, go Advanced to add your pictures, and if something goes horribly wrong you still have the text sitting on your hard drive waiting to try again.

(If you are using Firefox you will probably need to use Control-V to paste with.)

If you want to make italics or bold you can add that in your text file by typing (without the spaces)
[ b]to start bold.
[ /b] to stop bold
[i ] to start italics
[ /i] to stop italics

Just remove points from the following the rules section if custom make-up is used, not many but just a couple.

okay, I've made my decision. Any and all CC may be used for the sims in APP round, but 1 bonus point will be awarded if the only CC you use are:
eyes
eyebrows
skin
hair
clothes

These only apply to the sims themselves. There is no restriction on any kind of CC usage for the backgrounds of your pics and whatnot. No points will be awarded or taken away for the use/non-use of CC in anything but the sims themselves. If you have any more questions, please don't hesotate to post. Thanks! :D

That was when the Shadowlands attacked the elves and destroyed their forests. They were harboring fugitives from the Shadowking. I don't know anything about my parents other than the fact that I am a full-blooded elf. They say one of my parents must have been a student here because the note on my blanket was written in Human. "He was born in Fire: He is Blaze" Excuse me; those strawberies are complaining they are thirsty. And that orange tree wants to be trimmed. I know it isn't my job anymore. But that's no reason to neglect them! Anyway, if there is anything you need help finding just ask. I've been here all my life, so I know my way around here pretty well. Oh, my surname? It's something like "nameless" or "homeless". They told me once, but I didn't like it so I forgot. Or tried to forget, anyway. We need more elves living here. An elf kid being raised by humans doesn't work well. That's why I planted trees. They live longer.

Dear Diary. Daddy gave me some special glasses to help keep the sunlight from hurting my eyes. Now I can go out in the sun without any problems!

The king came to visit today. He taught me how to play chess, but I don't understand it very well. Daddy says not to worry about it. I did fine, but the king was cheating. I don't understand that. He said he was a master of the game, but why would a master of the game have to cheat in order to beat someone who just learned how to play?

We may have to move to Novaria. They have things there called trees that grow right up out of the ground and get bigger than a house! I'm scared. What if one of those things grows up under my bed while I'm asleep? I'm also worried about Daddy. The king cast a spell on him so he could survive in sunlight longer, but what if it wears off? We will be too far away to signal the palace for help. I don't want to move to Novaria. I want to stay here in the Shadowlands where I was born. Daddy says he will buy me a violin if we have to move. They should be less expensive there. And I will still be able to take my teddy bear and sing to it. So the idea isn't all bad, I guess. But this is the only home I have ever had, and I don't want to leave.

I like taking care of Daddy during the day. Daddy says I will be able to do a better job when I'm older. Right now I'm too little to pay the bills or go shopping by myself. That's another thing I don't understand. If the special police are all vampires, why do all the shops close at sunset? It's like they don't want them around for some reason. Why would people not want special police around?

I saw a pretty bug today. It sang a pretty song. I'm going to sing it for Daddy when he wakes up.

The aging elder eventually lost mobility over the years and was unable to upkeep the home. By the time she had the desire to hire a handy man, it was actually too late in her years to hire one.

I'm Blythe Mosley. My mother was obviously taking a bit too much morphine when she named me. Or maybe I should blame my aunt Jazlyn for buying my mom that book: "Alternative Baby Names". Nonetheless, my name means "cheerful, gentle". I suppose that it fits. I'm a pretty solitaire guy at times. I don't party much, but when I do I can be the life of any party. I seem to make even the most depressed person smile, and treat every female with the upmost respect.

I never knew my father; he supposedly up and left before I was born. My mom died in a car accident five years ago. I was 11 then, thus making me 16 years old now. My mother left custody to my aunt - her only sister - which is how I came to live with Jazlyn. We used to live on the mainland in the city, but, when my great grandmother passed away, we packed up and moved out here. It's pretty cool thus far.

The two of us have a strange relationship I suppose. Separated by only 10 years, we seem to enjoy a lot of the same things. In public people think that we are siblings, and we sometimes act like boyfriend / girlfriend. But, we aren't. We are just two people with a lot in common, who have just each other to lean on. Though, hopefully one day we can both find a real love of our lives.

Jalira is a dhampir. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhampir Her father is a vampire, and her deceased (ie. not in game) mother was human. And yes, Blaze is an elf.

Don't worry, my further entries are going to be adding more to the story. I'm using the contest as an incentive to stop building lots for a while and start building sims, so they are all going to be involved with the back-story of the new neighborhood I'm making. The main neighborhood, Downtown, and the shopping district are 3 different countries, although the Priory of Light is the only university lot for all of them. I will try not to make things too confusing, though.

All those children running through the halls drive me nuts! The girls are bad enough with their hair always coming loose, but the boys are the worst. They are always fighting, and it's all I can do to keep them apart.

The girls take up too much of Hannah's time, so the cooking is never good. And the boys are always being loud and violent. I just moved out of my parents house into my own little home. Its fantastic, even though it needs some adjustment though, the trash does not magically disappear anymore, the toast in the morning looks more black then brown and when I come home and am mad at the world and so...I toss my bag into the corner as usually and...nothing. Nobody is asking me: "What happened honey? Come on I make you a hot chocolate and then the world is a better place in no time again, you will see." Those are all things my Mom used to do for me. Yes but now I am grown up and ready for life. I just finished my education and am going to be a Teacher. I always loved little kids, as long as I can give them back at the end of the day! So I early decided to become a Teacher and now I am. Wow. I will start after the summer to teach my first 1.Grade class, I am excited. That is my life in short so far and I am curious about the things still to come.

Yes I know the joke. Haha no I am not black haired, I do not have a very dark skin and I also do not have anything else that is black, its just my name that my Mom gave me. I just turned 15. Being 15 is stupid, you are now not a kid anymore but you are no adult either, you are some sort in between. I am going to Sim City Highschool, I am an average student I would say. Yeah I could be much better but I am lazy also, and school is boring. I hate it only because my classmates are holding up the entire process. We still are going over material we should have covered already, just because they still don't get it. I did and that is why I feel bored all the time.

My Mom and I we live alone. My Dad died in a work accident when I was 13. His Job was to climb this super high trees and cut them off, you might have seen that somewhere in movies. Mom always feared that he would fall of a tree. But that did not happen. At one day they were loading cuted trees onto the Trucks. One Truck somehow lost the balance, well it slided a bit downwards a really tiny slope. But since the trees were not buckled yet they were rolling from the Truck and burrying my Dad and two of his colleges. One College had lost a leg, the other was not as unlucky as my Dad. They were both dying in the hospital. Well but Mom and I we are an entity and we are happy that we still have each other.

As I finally made it to my next destination on my, soon to be, amazing journey. The couple's name was Allen and Miranda Price. They were a very nice looking couple. As I arrived to their house, they openly welcomed me. Miranda told me that she could sense that I may have been hungry, and insisted that I eat her breakfast. Usually I am very hesitant about eating other's cooking, but the food that she had prepared just looked delicious! Bacon, eggs, toast, oranges, oh my gosh! She basically had everything you would ever want in a breakfast!

After breakfast, they began talking about the day they met, and I was very open with asking them their two favorite memories with each other. This made Miranda go and pull out a book filled with pictures. She turned to the first page.

It was a picture of when they got engaged. She began telling me that he took her to the park, like they had always did, and they ate their favorite food. Which was lemon crisps. After their normal outing, he took her a bit further into the park, and got down on one knee and proposed to her, and she happily said yes!

Her next memory was simply beautiful to me. It was their wedding! She wore a special made dress, while he comfortably wore a tuxedo that he had worn plenty of times. But it was part of their concept. Everyone wore any formal clothes that they were comfortable in, and it was just gorgeous.

But my real reason was to meet Kayden Greene. I had heard a lot about him, and my friend says he's nice. But I had never met him.

As I looked up from the photo album, I saw a guy walk through the door. "Hey! I guess you are the person we have been waiting for. Well, I'm -" I was super excited to meet him, "I know who you are Kayden. " I said confidently. He laughed softly, "Actually, Miss, I am, her sister, Jordan" he said nodding, as he pointed to his sister, Kayden, who had just walked through the door.

"Oh, I am soo sorry Jordan, it's just that I am used to Kayden being a male's name" he gave me a small hug, "It's okay, I understand" After he left, Kayden and I talked for a good while, but she told me that she an Jordan were indeed twins. She was the baby, but only by three minutes.

Allen and Miranda Price are both 60 years old. They have an adopted daughter Kayden Greene. She was adopted when she was 7 years old. She was a handful for the longest time, but now that she is an adult she has mellowed out and has learned that her adopted parents are the best parents that she has ever had. Allen and Miranda have been married 30 years now. They were dating for five years before that so, all together they have been together for 35 years or since they were 25 years old. They love their daughter but they didn't take pictures of her when they first got her. She was living on the streets and had cuts and bruises all over her body. They felt it was a time that she might want to forget so they felt that not taking pictures of that would help.

I came here to America way back when I was three... back in 1942. I obviously don't remember much about that journey, but there have been others.
My wife of 47 years passed away this last year... I do miss her; she always knew how to light up the room with her smile. *sigh*
After Lissa passed away I sold a lot of our things and moved into this place... it's a lot smaller than the house was but the building has a very nice courtyard out back. The landlord is a pretty decent fellow to boot. :)

Let’s see... I moved here to Sivad Flats about seven years ago when my little girl Katie was only two. I had to get her out of the environment that we were in... The big city. It's not that it was all that bad it just that I had nothing to hold me there... You see, I'm a single mom to Katie... I hate writing about my life, but hey, for the sake of a contest with a prize, I'll do pretty much anything. So here goes.

My name is Blur Frey (rhymes with 'try'). If you want to get technical, my full name is really Dominic Jacobi Frey, but I've never been called that in my life. Apparently my mother decided to call me Blur because of how drugged up she was during her pregnancy. She was a bit of a partier. But that's neither here nor there.

I'll be nineteen years old in a few more months, and already my life is full of more responsibility than I've ever wanted. I was just like my mom. I drank whenever I got the chance, I avoided school like the plague; I'm not proud of how I was, but back then it felt like the only way to live life. I finally got my act together about six months ago when my mom disappeared. I joined the army and moved into a small trailer park to live on my own until I got deployed. And then along came Jaina.

Jaina Sallow, my precious daughter. Didn't even know she existed until about two weeks ago. I opened the door in the morning to grab the paper, and there she was, sitting at my doorstep, with a note from her mother telling me who she was, and that she was mine. I guess from all the careless one-night stands I used to have, it was bound to happen eventually. Anyway, her mother was either sick of taking care of her or no longer able to. The responsibility had been dumped entirely on me either way.

And just like that I was a father to a beautiful (though maybe I'm biased) 18 month old girl. I can't help but love her, but she sure does have a nasty temper! My tiny living space was barely enough for me, and certainly isn't enough for one more. Where do I go from here, you ask? Well...I don't know. Being in the military is my only source of income, and I can't be a stay-at-home Dad. At some point I'll have to deal with the loads of paperwork that comes with having a child, but for now I'm content to devote myself to my girl's development, and hope she has a better life than me.

He was a soldier who had just returned from , and she a sim-hippie was looking to make an impression on the cute leader of her anti-war group. Miranda's power crystal bracelet gave Allen a nasty cut, however, and she felt obligated to offer him an herbal salve. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, which led to a beautiful courtship, which led to a beautiful wedding.

Kayden Greene made two promises to his father when he was on his deathbed: To keep the family business and home out of the hands of "those gorram Yankee lawyers", and to "keep those kids off my lawn!" There were serious problems with both of these promises.

Firstly, the elder Mr. Greene seemed to have forgotten in his old age that he had lived in Maine his entire life, and that he himself was a lawyer. The house and business, therefore, had spent the last thirty years in the hands of a Yankee lawyer. Secondly, Kayden was one to honor his word down to the letter. Thus, family oriented Kayden can never have kids unless he:

a) Sold the family house so the kids wouldn't get on the lawn, thus breaking his first promise, since there would undoubtedly be a lawyer, and probably a Yankee lawyer, involved in this transaction.

or

b) Build a tunnel so that his kids could get to the school bus without actually being [I]on the lawn.

Due to his aforementioned honesty and his intense fear of molepeople, neither of these is a viable option. Alas, it seems that Kayden is doomed to a life of family-less drudgery.

In an effort to pursue my journalism career, I decided to interview some of my neighbours and find out a bit about them. Today I visited Allen and Miranda Price, an elderly couple who, as their surname suggests, have quite a bit of wealth.

Turns out the experience wasn't quite as pleasant as I'd hoped. I've always known Allen was a big sweetheart; he likes to take walks in the park, stopping to play catch with the children and have coffee with the parents. It's rare to see him without a smile on his face -- outside the home, that is. Turns out, I hit a bit of a sore spot when I asked Miranda how their marriage had developed over the years.

She told me that she had hoped marrying rich would make life worthwhile. When she and Allen were first dating, he would shower her with presents that he bought with his family fortune. After a surprise pregnancy, which they legitimized by a quick summer wedding, Miranda gave birth to Kayden.

Kayden and her mother never quite connected. Miranda resented her for trapping her in a marriage, and while she was content to sit in her pristine living room, Kayden just wanted to play outside and watch birds make nests.

It was at this point in the interview that Allen mentioned Kayden's...uniqueness. "She's a plantsim," he said with some pride, while Miranda rolled her eyes. "Spent so much time in the garden, she ended up becoming a part of it!"

Of course I couldn't resist going out back to the gardens to take a look. And there she was, Kayden Greene (who changed her name to represent her union with nature), standing and chatting with the trees as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

And with that, I decided enough was enough for one day, and headed home with much to think about.

I don't know how much of this you already know, but if you will be replacing Miranda on the council you will need to know all of this. It is better to repeat something you do know than to leave out something you don't. Although I'm sure that you already know my name is Allen Price, and this is my beloved wife Miranda.

It wasn't always this green. Of course if you talk to the elves they will say it wasn't always this brown. That is the hardest thing to get used to. For the humans here the war was seven or eight generations ago, but it's only the younger elves that have no personal memory of the curse, the fires, and the war. And all of them lost family when their forests were destroyed. Since the Shadowking has kept himself alive all this time, the elves have a hard time remembering that the rest of us weren't around.

We met when we were studying at the Priory of Light. We were both descended from refugees who fled from the Shadowlands when the new king began to openly practice necromancy, using his own people for his rituals. Of course, the Shadowking took exception to having large numbers of his subjects disappearing over the border every few days, and was even more angry when the elves refused to forcibly send them back. We were required to study the war as "Current Events", while elven students were required to study it as "Ancient History." When Miranda asked about that, the professors explained that humans already knew the Ancient History part of the war, while elves already understood the Current Events. We needed to understand the perspective of all sides in order to fully understand the event itself. I don't know if they still have that policy, or if you have even studied there. But it will be important for you to remember that there are always other points of view that must be considered.

We were married right after graduation, and we both decided to volunteer to assist the elves in healing their land. We joined the group headed by Kayden Greene in attempting to recover the ancient meeting glade. As a dark elf he is accustomed to prejudice and was more willing than most to work with humans. The progress that was made by a combination of human and elven effort surpassed anything that had been accomplished by elves alone. I think that was probably why the elves chose Miranda when they were selecting two humans to sit on the elven council. Two out of seven is still not much representation, but it is much better than zero out of five. She has served for twenty years, so she has earned her retirement.

Our love for each other recently had an unexpected dividend. The phrase "A love stronger than Death itself" is more than just a saying. We had been working so hard one day that we neglected our own needs in favor of the needs of the flowers we were trying to call to life. The next thing we knew we were facing the spectre of death. He told us that if we could call the other's spirit forth through love alone, we would have earned a new life. We both succeeded! We were worried that this was necromancy, but Kayden assured us that it is not considered necromancy. It would not have worked if our love for each other was not strong enough, so the fact that we had dealt with death is less significant than the Love which we have for each other. So we may be in our 60's, but we have the bodies of 20 year olds again!

Five years ago some travelers discovered a new land which the Priory named Novaria on the maps. It is mostly open plain, but it is green, and un-cursed. The council is debating whether they want to send the human population there, or whether the remaining elves should move there and leave Erewhon for the humans. Of course the Shadowlands are also trying to take it over. There is still no word about the extent (or race) of any local population, but the Shadowking seems to believe they are there. Kayden is planning to investigate the place further, and we will be joining him now that we have been rejuvenated. We will send you reports as often as we can, so that you can make an informed vote. Don't worry; the elves aren't likely to call for a vote for several more years. They want to study it as well.



(I wasn't sure if my collage counted as one picture or 3, but I liked it better than the picture I had earlier of them on the couch together. My knowledge sims are not allowed to eat as long as "Be Saved From Death" is in their wants panel, and they never re-rolled it. So they filled it!)

Meet Allen and Miranda Price!
-Allen just had a birthday and turned 48. He is the manager of a local department store, and works on boats as a hobby.
-Miranda is 46 years old. She is an 11th grade English teacher at the local highschool. She adores children, although she was never able to concieve any of her own.

Allen and Miranda have been married for 25 wonderful years, and have enjoyed all of life's complications along the way. The are very romantic and passionate, and have been voted one of Trout Harbors "Most Valued Residents".

Barely looking a day over 20, they are the ideal cover couple for local magazines and have been featured multiple times in the Trout Harbor Times'.

Miranda's sister, Kayden Greene showed up with her daughter Jaimee. The Price's were excited beyond belief, and welcomed the two into there home as if it were ment to be.

It'll be sixty-two years this next November, I guess. I know that we've been married a long time, but we're still in love, right Allen?

How old were you when you got married?
I was but eighteen, and he was twenty. Neither of us went to college, because he was too busy working at the tailor's shop - his father ran one, you know - and I was pregnant with our twins, Jeffery and Sarah, before I was nineteen. And what about you and Allen? What do you do in your spare time?
I don't do anything much. I clean and I cook for the two of us, I write letters and poems sometimes. But it's Allen who really entertains (http://i40.tinypic.com/xbmx5d.png) us. Despite his muteness, he has quite an ear for the piano and plays it all day long.

Mr. Greene, could you please introduce yourself to the camera for us?
Hey, the name's Kayden Greene. I'm twenty-two years old, and my life's work is modeling. I love doing it, and I've been doing it since, oh, maybe eighth grade.

How do you get such a fit figure? What's your secret?
Well, every morning I do 20 minutes of yoga stretches (http://i39.tinypic.com/30bfubo.png) before a brisk swim. I also eat healthy and try to spend at least five hours a week in my home gym working out.

You often to print ads and TV commercials both alone and with partners. Could you show us an example of a solo project?
This was an ad for (http://i43.tinypic.com/funfb5.png) SimSwim's streamlined swimwear. I remember the shoot well, because it was so much fun. They had a few cameras set up at different angles and they were just clicking away and I dived and dived and dived and dived for three hours, almost non-stop. I was so exhausted! Then the next day I came into the studio and they let me pick a few of my favorite shots to keep. That was really thoughtful of them, and that's why I kept this photo.

What about an example of a group shot? Did you have any outstanding group projects?
Actually, I did. This photograph was actually for (http://i39.tinypic.com/2vbkjf4.png) a calendar that was filled with pictures of me with different girls in different places.It stood out because I don't usually do that sort of thing, but I decided to try it once and it was really fun! The girls I worked with were really sweet, and I hope I get to work with some of them in the near future.

“On one of our early dates,” she continued, “we went on a lovely little picnic. We went to an area that was so peaceful and calm that for a little while, all worries seemed to be swept away. Sadly, that feeling was fleeting, for Allen was deployed the following week.”

“I’ll tell you what though,” Allen said, “my homecoming was quite memorable. Due to a change in scheduling, I got home a day early. Miranda had no clue that I’d gotten in, so I decided to surprise her at work. It seemed fitting seeing as that was where we first saw each other. The joy in her eyes when she saw me is something I'll never forget.”

Upon leaving the Price’s home, I decided to take a stroll around town. I found my way to the local library and asked the librarian if there was anything or anyone interesting about the town. She told me some fascinating stories about someone named Kayden Greene. The stories were so interesting that I asked where I could find this person, and she said she’d arrange a meeting.

The next day, I returned to the library to meet with Kayden. After hearing the stories, he didn’t look quite like I expected him too. From appearances, he seemed to be a rather down-to-Earth man,

This is our two kids with their family. Our son, Philip on the right there, with his son, Kaspar. He's the one with red hair. As you see, there's no mother. No, she unfortunately died while Kaspar was a todler by cancer. It was a big lost, but Philip has taken good care of Kaspar, he's such a good boy, all though a little silly some times, especially when he's with her cousin, Anna. She's the one on the left. They've been really good friends since childhood. And the boy there is her littlebrother. He's the family's little genius. And their parents, Charles, and our daughter, Karla.
A; Yes, that's our small family. But you know, we could have had one more daughter there.

I have sent all of my scores off now. I am worried that I may have been generous with marks but you were all marked to the same scale so I guess its all relative. Congratulations guys. I wll be posting specific advice in the thread tomorow but a general point would be that the best photos have decent backgrounds, sure if you want just a wall in a background then that is fine but if you are going to do something like a garden then make it look like a garden, not a bit of green space.

Round Two is all about character. What do they look like? What do they wear? What do they do?

Sim #1: Make any male, any species, any CC allowed. The requirements:
EITHER a) he must wear glasses, have red hair, and be engaged OR b) his name must start with "Ma" and he must be married
Sim #2: Make any child, any species, any gender, any CC allowed. The requirement:
The child must be dressed in all one color. The clothing may have small patches of other colors, or any shades of the color, but it must be one color.
Sim #3: Make any adult sim. It is strongly advised that you make this sim in bodyshop, as they will take part in other rounds. The sim may have any name, but it is a female she must be pictured in a fancy dress in at least one picture, and if it is a male he must be pictured with a girl who is engaged (to him, if you like) in at least one picture. Take care that you choose this sim wisely, because if you don't like him/her, you'll have to deal with that. Also, please do not mention any children they might have, try to stick to who they are as a person.

You will need two pictures of each sim. If two sims are together in one photo, the photo counts for both of them. The max number of in-post pictures is eight, the minimum is three. Please write at least four sentences per person, no maximum.

I work for the local parish as a construction worker. Today we are cleaning up a crater left on the side of the road by a drunk driver. This crash was real close to my home and it makes me so mad! Hypothetically speakin', my wife could have been walking our dog and have gotten' hurt by that idiot. Son of a bench. I guess you can tell I'm very protective over my family (and maybe a little bit of a hot head).

When I'm at home I'm happy. My wife runs a small day care service for the neighboring families and I love helping out. I think of it as practice, because my exciting news is that I'm going to be a daddy! I'm so happy, I got my kid a great pair of work gloves, they look just like mine only tiny! This will greatly loosen the strain on the contestants. Check the first post in a few minutes to see the updated version. In the meantime, here's the bonus round, which will be worth 30 points:

Now that you've told us a bit about Sim #3, lets explore their home enviorment. Where do they live? Who do they live with? Who shares their public school? Who meets them for coffee every Thursday?

For the bonus round, you will be making two of Sim #3's neighbors. One must be a female child, and the other may be a young adult, adult, or an elder of any gender. If you like, one of the Prices may be the "other". The first name of the child must begin with "Co". The "other" neighbor must be shown in a park, next to two children in at least one of their pictures.
At least two sentences are required for the bonus round, and at least one picture of each person. Maximum of eight in-post pictures, no limit on links. No limit on amount of sentences. Both people must describe one of their favorite things at some point during the round.

Hello! I am Martin. I was married for eleven wonderful years. Two years ago my late wife, Grace, died in a car wreck. It took a little over a year to get my life back on track, but when I did, I came to a realization. My daughter, Amber, needed a woman in her life. That is when I met Alexis, and we are now engaged. I am definately a daddy's girl. My mom was a cool woman too. I miss her dearly, and wish she could be here today. However, I have somehow took a liking to Alexis. She is pretty cool- but maybe a little too cool. And plus, don't tell her, but she freaks me out sometimes. But, dad likes to take me down to the park and we go fishing together and then he watches me play on the jungle gym. Alexis likes to take me shopping, and bought me this dress I am wearing!

It's probably for the better though; my body should be for his prying eyes only.

I'm sorry, Aodhan is busy right now. We may be acting as a garrison, but the two children need to learn civilized skills as well as tracking, fighting, and magic. He's teaching them crafting. I am Alina, Aodhan's fiancee. Aodhan is like a fire. He can be comforting, or he can be deadly. And he is often unpredictable. He is busy training the children right now, so he can't be embarrassed by this. Just don't tell him you know? He doesn't like having strangers know too much about him. I guess you could call him shy, but that's part of what I love about him.


We met while we were studying at the Priory of Light. The humans had recently begun sending students there, and we were beginning to be appalled at the way their own people were treating them. The fact that vampires were feeding freely on the population was bad enough, but the fact that some of the students at the priory had younger siblings who had been attacked by vampires or who had vanished without a trace alarmed us enough to bring a request to the council to attempt to rescue the human "underclass" that was most vulnerable to that sort of thing. The council approved after only a year of deliberation, but that proved to be a deadly mistake. We had gotten almost 500 humans out of there and into an uninhabited area of the forest, when a vampire showed up at the council meeting and demanded the return of the "Captives." The council replied that there were no captives; any human in the forest was free to go wherever they wished as long as they abided by the common laws. The vampire commented that his master had expected that reply, and that a state of war now existed between our two realms. A few minutes later the whole forest was on fire.

Some of us who were more skilled with magic sensed the power of a curse being targeted at us through the vampire, and were able to turn much of it back to the source. The human kingdom fell to the power of the curse that their own king cast, and their army was obliterated by our forces. As a healer, I was not part of that. But Aodhan, Aiman, Javaid, and a handful of others drove off over 5000 attackers that day.

I tried to console myself by painting, which I have always loved. Somehow even that could not ease the pain I felt. Finally Aodhan took me to the cemetery where the innocents who had died were laid to rest. We sat in silence among the dead as I cried on his shoulder. Finally I began to feel at peace again. That was when I got the biggest surprise of my life.

Those of us who had been most involved in rescuing humans began to feel that we were no longer welcome in the forest, but we had heard rumors of a place that the Priory was calling Novaria. Some of us decided to emigrate there, where we would be no more unwelcome than we were here. Aodhan and I were joined by two dark elf orphans who had taken the names Mstislav and Manyara, along with Aiman and her brother Javaid.

Of course she spends half an hour telling you that we had to leave for Novaria, and then stops just as it gets interesting! Well, alright, I suppose getting engaged on a nice romantic date in a cemetery might qualify as interesting... I think I would have made him try again, though.

We got here, and had to find food. Javaid and I are half dark elf, so we knew how to fish. Alina and Aodhan weren't very happy about fish for dinner, but they had to agree we didn't have time to grow any fruit trees or vegetables of our own and we didn't know enough about the local plants to be sure we knew what was edible. I caught the first one, and it was huge!

We spent some time in an open-air park, while I cooked the fish I had caught. We noticed that the population was as different as any of the plants were. There were elves and humans there, but there were also races that we had never seen before. Most of them do seem to be as bad as Fey-eves about making sure their houses blind you before you get too close, though. And we were not the only ones who were eating fish.

I was approached by a humanoid cat named Myrhyss who invited me to come live with him. I turned him down, but the children seemed to like him. He was willing to play games with them, which they needed. (Especially poor Mystislav. Manyara at least knows how to smile. And my idiot brother thinks it's a good idea for them to learn to fight. If they are destined for it, they will learn. Until then, they should be taught to enjoy the present moment. Tomorrow may not come.) Finally they sat and talked with him, and he managed to explain that he could tell that we were alone here, he was impressed with my skill at catching and cooking fish, and he was offering to let us all stay at his home in exchange for freshly cooked fish every day. It was the sudden hail storm that made up our minds for us. Taking three days to build a place to keep rain and hail off our heads as opposed to going to a place that was already built was a no-brainer. And it turns out that he is actually a lot of fun to be with, once you learn to understand that feline accent. (There are a lot of letters he can't pronounce. Even my name comes out as Aomyn!)
If you ever get tickled by a cat, watch out for that tail!
He was even able to show the others which plants were edible, although he thought it was funny that they would want to eat salads when there was fish available. Alina has found her solace from the memories, and I think I may have found mine. We are starting to spend a lot of time alone together, anyway. He likes my violin, and I enjoy dancing with him. (Especially after using a spell to make the violin play itself.) And no, you do not get to see pictures of that. It's private. ;D






They say it's our turn now. Mystislav is probably going to pretend he doesn't know how to write, though. We were only 26 when the world burned and our family died. Our cribs were buried in rubble. I dreamed I saw a man in a black cloak who said that we were too young, and he was too tired of this. He kissed us both, then said to sleep until we were found. It has to have been a dream, because we were still under the rubble. We slept for a very long time before Aiman and Javid found us. I don't know how long it was, but they were very surprised. When we got old enough to be named, my brother chose Mystislav, meaning revenge and glory. I chose Manyara, meaning "you have been humbled". I don't thing Aiman liked our choice much, though. But it was our choice. I think I'm supposed to add a picture, so here it is. Bye.

Not to be 'bi-otchy' or nothing, but isn't it kinda unfair to offer the "bottom half" more points for doing an "optional" round? In essense, this could cause persons who would normally have more points if equal points were to be offered, to have lesser points. Get what I'm saying? It's me again, Arthur. I wanted to show you around my neighborhood, and to let you meet a few of the locals. This is the guy who lives across the street, Raymond. He's retired so he has plenty of time to play pranks, he loves to goof off, always ready with the latest gossip or the funniest jokes. My name is Aralyn R’Cor, and I’m just a typical small town girl. What’s perhaps not so typical about me is the fact that I recently moved to Kalriklome` which is like the third largest city on the whole planet. I have to say that even after three phases, I find this place to be a little intimidating. I mean there are more students in my school than there are people in my home town. I have managed to make a friend though, she lives in the same complex as me and we met when we bumped into each other in the corridors…literally. We’ve been friends ever since, and one of our favorite games is “corridor tag”. Of course, our parents don’t like it when we play in the corridors, but we figure what they don’t know won’t hurt us.

One thing I miss about living in a small town is being able to see the stars. I’ve always been fascinated by the night sky – which is why I’m going to be an astronomer when I grow up – but the city’s lights make it impossible to see the stars around here. I think Mama and Daddy knew that I was feeling a little down about that, so last night we went to a small town on the outskirts of Kalriklome` and set up my telescope on top of a hill. I had lots of fun, and I even thought I saw a UFO, but of course Mama said it was probably just a shuttle going to that new lunar colony they’re building, and that aliens don’t exist. I don’t care what she says, that was no shuttle and aliens do exist, and someday I’m going to find them.

Myrhyss Prrr (I wasn't really expecting to use him in a round so his name is just something that a cat can pronounce easily. Although it was inspired by Marcus, which means "Of Mars", or "son of Mars")

Coline Drakonis: Coline is a feminine variant of Nicolas, which means "Victory for the people", but is better known as being the name of the saint who saved the daughters of a poor merchant from a life of prostitution and inspired the idea of Santa Claus. Drakonis is a variant of Draconis, meaning Dragon or serpent.


HI! I know I look funny, but I'm still practicing. Mom says it's easier to deal with people if they aren't running away in terror or trying to slay the terrifying dragon. You wouldn't hunt me, would you? Even like this I can still breathe a cloud of poison smoke. I tried fire once, but it hurts my throat like this. Besides, my paintings and tapestries might burn. I'm really too young to breathe fire properly yet anyway, but Mom can.

It gets into your dreams and changes you. Treasure is supposed to have value from being used. Otherwise you risk becoming the monsters that give dragons a bad name. Mom says that a dragon never outgrows the desire to gather treasure, but we need to remember that we are supposed to be protectors, not monsters. At least I've finally gotten my mattress to be hard and lumpy. (I put rocks in it.)

A new family has moved in nearby. They look like elves, and there is a girl my age. They are staying with Myrhyss, but I didn't think elves would appreciate felis-style decoration. Elves like bright and colorful, and the felis like to blend in. I wonder if we can be friends. Do elves play hunter? Or chess? I know they like painting, so we might be able to play the game where you each add a single element to a picture until everybody agrees it's finished. Or they might have an elven game I've never heard of that is fun. And if she doesn't have any treasure of her own, I can give her some of my silver to start her off. But only if we like each other. I hope they have some elven books! We could share books with each other. I'm going to go invite her over.

Better? It's an elven spell my beloved taught me to translate. I understand, but can't pronounce half of the sounds in your language. But you can't "pronounce" the tail positions in ours either, so don't think our language is any more limited than yours is. As long as the spell is active you can understand me.

You want to know about me? We have been here for a long time. We evolved from the same ancestors that produced the common cats and the Leori and Tigran. Oh, you were asking about me personally? I am myself. What is there to ask?

I came of age ten years ago, but my aptitude was for caring for children. Not that I want any of my own, mind you. It would be impossible, anyway. My beloved is an elf, so any children we have together would probably be monstrously ugly to both races. But I enjoy playing with them, and teaching them. (When I am not enjoying the company of my beloved, that is.) We have formed a garrison near the border to watch for "undesirable immigrants", but it's mostly Aodhan, Javaid, and Mystislav who patrol. Mystislav is really too young, but some kittens are born to hunt. I have been enjoying teaching him to play.

I like fish, but I don't like getting wet. I find it quite convenient that there are people who are willing to play with water and catch them for me. I used to just eat them raw, but now that I have learned how to cook them properly I enjoy cooking them too. I also enjoy tinkering with the devices they have. Elven artifacts are so very different from felis designs that I always learn something new.

As to the future, we are discussing whether or not we should be bound to each other. My lifespan is much shorter than hers, so it would require a soul bond. That would either give her my lifespan and rob her of centuries of life, or give me her lifespan and make me watch unchanged as the others of my kind grow old and die. Without a soul bond I will die, and she will live in mourning for the rest of her life. As long as we simply love with no commitment, she will be free to love again. But I fear that our hearts are already making the commitment that we have been trying to avoid.

Basically, this round is about Sim #3's child/ren. There are no restrictions about the children besides names. the kids can be adopted, or no longer alive, or be aliens. they may have been missing since they were two, or living with their mother, or have been taken away by social security. they may have been killed, or never have been born. they can be twins or triplets or quadruplets. they can be any age, but they must have names with these beginnings, in order:

I am Courtney Newman! I am 11 years old. I never knew my mom, so, it's always been just me and my dad. We have fun together, and I think that I'm going to like the new house we've moved into. There's this girl who lives next door, and she's just a couple years younger than I. I think that we will be good friends, or atleast I hope we will be.

To welcome them to the neighborhood, Alexis, and her soon to be family, the Kingsley's, took the Newman's down to the park. This allowed the adults to have time to chat, whilst the kids warmed up to each other better. Everyone had fun in the end, and the Kingsley's (+Alixis) & the Newman's are pretty certain that they will become the best of neighbors and friends.

If you have the oldest child be aborted, a picture of the two of them together might be a picture of sim #3 sporting bump, or a picture just after the baby was conceived, or when sim #3 found out they were preggers. A picture of them eating together might be sim #3 eating healthy while pregnant so they baby isn't addicted to junk. If the child is taken away by the social worker, just have a pic of them eating together before that happens. I'm not quite sure why a child Sim #3 adopted would be an issue...

I suppose it's time to open my past.

After the war a secret session of the council established an espionage service, and I was one of the members. I still believe that assassination should have been authorized as well, but the council refused to go that route. A team of us were investigating the nature of the spells that would raise monstrous constucts to defend the border, and which would track down and kill any of their own citizens who crossed the border without the proper paperwork. We were hoping to find a counter for the spell. Unfortunately, we were caught. I acted as a decoy while the others escaped, but I was blocked from teleporting away myself.

I was a personal captive of the guard commander who caught us. I still do not wish to discuss the details of my captivity beyond the fact that it resulted in me giving birth to Jabez while I was on a torture rack. This led to an entirely new technique. If I didn't give him what he wanted, I could watch my child starve. After two days of that, I broke. But not the way he would have liked. He left himself open, so I killed him and escaped with my son. However I couldn't cross the border with him, because he counted as a citizen and would have triggered the constructs. And even if he were old enough to teleport, he had never been outside my cell, so he would have no idea where to go. There was also the little matter of an unsanctioned killing for me to deal with. We kept a low profile in the Shadowlands while I tried to find a way out of the dilemma. Fortunately he was able to hide his elven ears under his hair, and I am able to masquerade as a vampire rather easily. Since vampires are the shadowking's secret service nobody was too eager to risk questioning me, and naturally we avoided any real vampires.

The rapid (to me) aging that his human blood gave him finally gave me an idea. I was able to forge paperwork requesting permission for him to apply to the Priory of Light as a student. When the permission was granted (after a healthy bribe) I used a spell to make him appear to be old enough for college and sent him across the border with his pass. Then I teleported across and met him on the other side, where I reversed the spell and restored him to his proper age. Then I took him back home with me.

The council immediately had me up on charges of murder for my unsanctioned killing when I got home. My son was made a ward of the council and placed in my uncle's care while they deliberated. Alina told you that we had begun to feel unwelcome. In my case it was more than that. I was sentenced to one hundred years in exile for killing my captor.

Jabez was made in CAS by taking my SimPe export of her and creating a human sim to be the father. Then I rolled the pacifier until I got a decent looking kid. I hope that is permitted. I wanted to make her child look like he could have been hers, since the round says that he is supposed to be hers.

The oversharpening in the second picture is because the border fortress is another residential lot, so the game had it horribly blurry. Both sims really were in the picture. I have the un-edited screenshot if you need to see it.

My family history is a bit difficult to explain. I just turned 29 last week and when I now look back on my life so far it has been pretty confusing and hectic and just not the way it should be.

When I was 15 I met the love of my life and everything was working out so great. We were a happy couple and I loved him so much, his name was Tom. Tom and I married 3 Years later, when I just turned 18 and 9 happy month later we were awaiting our first children. They are my pride and joy today and they are Twins. Both will turn 11 soon, time flies so fast.

Both are the cutest kids ever and I could not imagine what I would do without them. After 4 Years of happy marriage, Tom was called to work one day. He was involved in a Mass-accident on his way home, he never made it back and died two days later in the hospital. I was left alone with my kids. It was a tough time and we had to fight hard, I took every little work that one could do from home, since I could not afford a Nanny. A rough time I can tell you and I was very often reaching my limits and wanted to give up. Then five Years ago I met Leonard. I was happy again, but also afraid to lose him. So he said I was clammering to much and he left us a half Year ago. I felt so guilty that my children lost a father figure for the second time. Everything at home reminded me on this guilt, everyday. Then my boss at that time did a wonderful thing, without even knowing it. He offered me a relocation to Pleasentview and me and my kids we moved. Now my babies and I we are together and I know everything will work out one day. I just gave up the hope to find another men like my Tom and I am sad everyday that my children have to miss the love of their father. But they have each other and I hope they will stay best friends when they grow up.

Two years after the pervious picture were taken Marty and I split up. That was about 6 years ago. I decided that instead of waiting until I find someone else to have kids with I would adopt. I adopted a 15 year old- Robert, 12 year old-Shannon, 11 year old- Melissa, 10 year old- Drake, 9 year old Reece, and 2 year old Travis.

This was me, two years ago. I had been dating this guy for about a year, and once I got pregnant, he split. Being single and without a steady income, I decided to do the best thing for the baby: I decided to put her up for adoption imediately after birth. To make matters easier, I prefered to not even see her after a birth. All I knew and have ever known, is that it was a girl, and that if I would have kept her, she would have been named Renee.

I can only imagine how tough it would have been to be a single mom. Money and food was already tight, and being pregnant didn't help the matters. I am lucky that I have a very close sister, and that she allowed me to satisfy my midnight craving for toaster pastries. Might seem crazy, but I would have never made it 9 months without those late night snacks with my dear loving sister.

Being pregnant didn't put a stop to my quarkiness though. I was and will always be the wild child who likes to do wacky things. As I have stated once before, I have always wanted to be a model. When I was pregnant I saw an add for pregnant women to audition for modeling positions. However, I wasn't an ideal candidate for a role model mother, and even though my modeling was pretty spot on, they decided to not accept me.

Sometimes she is just a child like every other. But what I like much about her is that she is an incredible chess partner. We play a game every now and then and until now none of us is a dominant winner. Somtimes she wins sometimes I do, you never know what happens and that makes it interesting. She learns from me and I learn from her. She told me that playing chess is one of her hobbies that she shares with her Dad. He brought her to that. And she liked it so much that she now considered to sign up for the chessclub once she goes to Highschool.
