My turn.
First the bath. I tried to keep true to a beach theme. Decor includes sand floors, water walls, fish, shells, and even a piece of driftwood. There's a table decorated with coconuts to put a tropical drink on as you relax in the tub.

Next the den. I'm not sure if it's nautical, but has several nice things in it. I went with the round windows beacuse they sorta look like portholes if you use your imagination.

Swatches of sponged coral blue on the walls and a restrained darker hue on the hand polished tiles make up the base of this bathroom. I wanted to go in for a deep/fierce sea theme as opposed to a balmy and languid look and the fittings are matched accordingly.
Firstly here's the requisite overhead shot depicting room placement

Bathroom shot 1

Bathroom shot 2
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a336/hunterkiller13/snapshot_00000001_915800aa.jpg
As for the den, I have been inspired the British East India men from the 16th and 17th centuries so I have tried to remain true to that feel and hence the walnut panelling and planked flooring which in turn are complemented by the heavy brass and wood furniture that suits the room really well due to their rough hewn look.
The den was intended as study/library and retreat where one could sit and listen to classical oldies and perhaps have a smoke.

Yeah, before I forget, the bathroom windows are coloured differently to remove any doubt of their single tile origins. If any of you dont recognize a custom object and want it PM me and i'll get back to you with the link.

With the bathroom i wanted you to feel like you are actually underwater when you are in there so it is all in blue with a shell bath/toilet/sink and light wood furniture. There are underwater plants and stepping stones to the bath. The windows are small and round like portholes and the door is so dark it matches the wall and has a light blue porthole.

http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/1730/sink75fw.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
With the den/office i went for a beach hut feel with a light refreshed seating area and study area.

Hey everyone, Here is my entry! I hope that you like it!
Let's Start with the BATHROOM
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_5156d0c3.jpg
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_9156d0a5.jpg
To me, this is a perfect example of a Beach theme.I didnt want to get to kitchy because that is just not my style. But in order to keep that beachy theme , i kept with the traditional beach colours of Red, White and Navy. To accomplish this i did the following:
Painted the walls a navy(which is the colour of deep water)
The floor tile is the colour of sand
I made most of the room the navy because it is the most prodominant colour of the beach theme (the water is the most prodominant eature of a beach!). So, i put red in little accent touches through out the room (towels, carpets etc).
The vanity that i chose i think fits perfectly with this theme (mostly because of its colour). The mirror i put above it reminds me of one of those windows you would find in a submarine (i think there called pot holes? or something liek that!)
Now for the DEN
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_5156d111.jpg
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_b156d129.jpg
So, as you can tell this is the den. To me, a den is a room in which the whole family can go and watch tv, play on the computer (etc) and not feel pressured to keep it extremely clean and tidy. I accomplished the Nautical theme by once again using the traditional colours of Navy, White and Red, but i mostly used white and red in this room becasue the bathroom had alot of navy.
The first picture shows the television area. I used a white sectional sofa that is slipcovered for easy cleaning. The wicker coffe table really reminds me of the sea. I dont know why but i think it is just the natural feel of it. The carpet is red and white, aswell with a tan colour which can represent the sand. The curtains are navy (too bring a little of that colour in).
The second picture is of the "study" area. The nautical theme is kept over here by using alot of white, aswell as fun touches of the sea (small fish tank, miniature boat, tresure chest etc.) I made sure the desk had alot of storage in it aswell. The bookcase adds warmth to the room, aswell as more of that nautical theme (the top of it looks like a ships sterering wheel!)
Overall in this room, the floors remind me of a board walk that would be on the beach So that is why i chose that floor. The walls i chose to bead board because it has that real cape cod feel to them!
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f298/chique4591/snapshot_0000000e_b156d0ce.jpg
This is the aerial shot, here you can see the placement of everything if you didnt get the feel of the rooms from the other 4 pictures!

My inspiration for my bathroom and study are eastern seaboard (i.e. Long Island, NY and Nantucket) summer cottages. For the bathroom, I chose sedate peach and aqua to create a serene look. For the study, I chose relaxing blue, white and light wood with yachting touches.

Ok, here goes mine. After a nasty stomach virus hit my family this weekend, I wanted a little sunshine to brighten my day. My den is very bright and sunshiny, with beaches, boats, surfboards, happy dolphins and other nautical decorations. I have had this wallpaper since early on playing the Sims 2, and have always liked it. This room looks like a great place to kick your feet up, watch the Travel Channel, and plan your next island holiday, with maybe a little snorkling, deep-sea fishing and of course surfing!
My bath is a calming, pleasant place to shower off and relax in the tub with some wine or a cool drink and a good book, watching the sunset over the beach.
The majority of decor came from MST2, Meshkiste, plus a ton of other sites I apologize for not naming. I am not a mesher or recolorer, so none of this content is made by me. I just download it like crazy and put it together.
Hope you all like it!

There are so many really great entries...
The beach is water and sand. The tub, shower, and sink fit into the ocean side of the bath. This mirror is a Solander sand-blasted pic with a dolphin; the one over the sink is a sunsetting on the ocean (not in pic). These Oxygen lights match the design on the cabinets (not in pic). The swag curtain is by SimAddict99:
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/snapshot_0000000c_f1596ef7.jpg
The toilet is a shell washed up on shore among other shells and an Sim Sisters egret. The pic is by mummysim, and it's a Luna wall unit. (I put a blind over the door, but I wanted you to see the starfish and shell design in the glass.)
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/snapshot_0000000c_31596fd8.jpg
The office has a light wood deck and is sailing in the sea green ocean. On the bookcase/Mango acquarium side, I chose a compass rug because of it's importance to navigation:
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/snapshot_0000000c_d1596e0e.jpg
And here in the window side, the hammock by Birgit45 is used to watch a wall t.v. (not in pic) as sailors would string up a hammock to sleep on. I used the Oxygen series square portholes for windows:
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/snapshot_0000000c_b1596e89.jpg
And the overview (hopefully you can see what I left out of the pics okay):

Okay well i guess someone has to go first. I had a LOT of fun with this round, especially the bedroom!
I decided to decorate the bedroom in kind of a tropical rainforest kind of feel... to me it seems really romantic and intimate. There is a rock fountain at the foot of the bed, unfortunately you can't see it...

The view from the "jungle" at the foot of the bed, in the window.
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c173/jkuijper/snapshot_00000006_115bbdb7.jpg
I chose butterfly as my "bug of choice" mostly because I had so many butterfly things in my game already. It was a difficult decision, but i think it turned out adorably! I decorated it for a toddler girl, and i wanted it to feel lived in so the toys are strewn about on the floor.

You are outside in the gardens. You see a cocoon where a butterfly will soon emerge. The rocking chair is almost hidden in the tall grass. The baby bed hangs from the bough of a tree and swings in the breeze. The butterflies merrily flutter around. The little one(s) play(s) on the big, soft butterfly rug in the center of the room. (These toys will all fit in the toy box at the end of the day.)
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/snapshot_0000000c_d15e2709.jpg
(Butterflies are on the bear, clock, curtain, mobile, wallpaper, and changing table.)
Your little one sleeps and plays among the fragrant flowers that attract the colorful butterflies. If (s)he tumbles from bed, a soft mat eases the fall.
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/snapshot_0000000c_f15d05a3.jpg
This nursery accomodates both a baby and a toddler.
It's night time in the jungle - the sun is setting. Light a fire to keep the animals away (except one little ape hiding in the corner). Laze in your comfy hammock and munch on fruit, or stretch out on the leafy colored pillows. Coconuts hang high up in the tree tops (out of sight of this pic), and vines reach down low to the ground.
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/hammock.jpg
You are sleeping in a tree house like Swiss family Robinson, with mosquito netting around you. Bamboo grows tall around the bed. The green leaves, rich wood, wild plants and animals surround you, but you have created a safe haven here.

Ok, appologies to all, but it's a woman's perogative to change her mind!
The jungle theme was a real challenge, that I hope I met adequately. I hate animal prints :P so I had tried for an african thatched hut feel to the room and was not happy with it. I still don't like animal prints, but really felt the room needed some, so here's an Ode to the Giraffe.
For the nursery, I stretched my fledgling wings with recolors. I went with dragonflies as the insect of choice =) I did not recolor any custom object, just maxis items and bedding.
As I failed to mention in round one, my custom content comes from any one of the following sites:
MTS2, TSR, HolySimoly, 11Dots, Peggy, AussieTopEnders, Avenida, Sunair, Spiffysims, Simstoday, parsimonious, UniversalSims, Vitasims, etc..
I give due credit to you all for your fantastic work.

I've got a few words to add here: initially I wanted to use butterflies as the theme of this room, but I saw it had already been chosen by some of you guys, so I went for the bee theme. It was really hard finding suitable stuff or even paintings of bees, so this is why I'm not too pleased about my nursery. :)

Okay so I'll be honest, it wasn't easy. My recolouring efforts are atrociously deplorable so I had to go with what was available to me.
For the bedroom, I was torn beween a tropical jungle theme and an african serengeti type room, the latter won as I combined animal prints and darkwood furniture to create a cozy and intimate room.
So here's the overhead shot.

Okay, I think I had better post this one now. I could keep tweaking it forever!
For my jungle bedroom, I went with the tropical rainforest feel. It is very green and lush. I wanted it to feel as if you were sleeping outdoors in Hawaii, with the yellow and orange flowers, tropical drinks, and the soothing sounds of falling water. I call it my Hawaiian Honeymoon room.
For my nursery, I went with the butterfly theme as well. I did try to use a bedding print that was different, and pulled in lots of bright cheerful colors. I wanted it to look like the little girl toddler was playing with her toys, and just left the room for a minute.
My custom content is from all over, but a lot of the plants are from MST2 - most were made by mickyss, but there is a good mix of creators too. I used the canopies from Sunair Sims Pendant Bedroom, the love seat from Holy Simoly, and lots of my stuff is from Meshkiste too.
Hope you all like it! I can't wait to see what the next round it. LyricLee, you are making this very challenging and fun.

Look who gets to go first again ;)
normally I like to sit on it for a while and see if I change my mind about anything but i can't really do that since I'm getting up at 5am tomorrow morning to catch the 6am ferry.... fun :D
I originally was going to do a "country cats" sort of kitchen, but I just couldnt stand it. It was too boring. SO, i came up with something a lot more fun. My boyfriend likes it, but he says that its waaaay too girly, which is pretty much exactly what I was going for :)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c173/jkuijper/snapshot_00000006_d1615e0b.jpg

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c173/jkuijper/snapshot_00000006_11615e22.jpg
And the living room. I really like this style, I used a similar style for my bedroom. This is a bit different tho, because its lighter and sort of "secret gardeny..." rather than jungly.. I stumbled on that painting on the far wall, i think its so beautiful! White wicker furniture makes this place feel more like a patio or solarium than a living room, which is pretty much exactly what I wanted!
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c173/jkuijper/snapshot_00000006_d1615e8b.jpg
and a view of the "garden" behind the fence, and the wicker birdcage, complete with bluebird... tho it may be difficult to see it.

I have been itching to do a southwestern style room, and the choice of any animal for the kitchen allowed me to not only scratch that itch but to incorporate a favorite animal as well. I have done a southwestern horse ranch kitchen theme.
For the livingroom, we move east to Florida. With rattan furnishings and an arboritum, the outside moves indoors in the lush green living space filled with greenery and flowers making it as restful as a spring day.

The garden begins with the door and windows. Think of this as an enclosed patio with the round planter in the center as the focal point. A sitting area is just to the left of the door with a nice big, cushioned window seat. To the right is a spot to play chess. (That bare space leads to the kitchen doorway.)
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/butterfly.jpg
The seat with the bright flower patterned pillows faces the stereo and t.v. (that you can just barely see in the window shaped mirror).
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/flower.jpg
What other animal is more dear to a Sim? (The white llama tapistries were paintings by Janet Kruskamp. The pastel tapistry is titled Lawrence at ismi.)
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/table-window-view.jpg
These cabinets reminded me of llamas; I used the lines already in the cabinet and my imagination. I used the dark llama pattern on a rug, lamp, and seat cushions; and the light llama pattern on the bar, towels, and curtains.
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/ciane/kitchen-cabinet-design.jpg
The earthy, natural feel makes you think you are at a llama farm with the wallpaper woven from the wool of the llamas. Long grasses entice the llamas to munch. (The big painting is called Llamas and Papas by dbbatik. The picture is of Jack born on the 7th of January.)

Okay, I thought about doing roosters or chickens too, but decided to go with this pretty blue countertop. I call this my "Grand Peacock Kitchen." It has an Arts and Crafts meets Tuscan style.
My garden living room is a very lush Cottage Garden, and I got to use my favorite colors - green and pink, with creamy Shabby Chic style furniture. I hope you all like it.

Yes, I chose the same holiday season; but I went with the universal child-like wonder and building feeling of anticipation. We celebrate this holiday long before it arrives and the glow lingers on weeks later. It's the thinking of others aspect that it so wonderful - planning the perfect way to make someone happy. We all get to be Santa Claus and make our own gingerbread houses; and if we are lucky enough to have snow, we get to enjoy skiing, sledding, and ice skating. I also really enjoy the traditions - singing christmas songs, caroling, drinking hot drinks, sitting around a fireplace, reading and writing cards and letters, and visiting relatives. I hope this brings a smile and warms your heart - happy holidays!
Going from left to right, we start with the stables and see that someone has already started loading the sleigh. (The gingerbread walls and the reindeer name plates and signs are care of Pam's Themes.)

The "reindeer" are getting in position.

It seems the snow family and the penguins are watching the proceedings. (Cazkiwi made them - simsistic - snowy windows and card holder by door too)

Santa has been busy all year, and it's time to share that joy with everyone.

note - I had no seasonal objects in my downloads until a couple days ago. I go to alisims for updates, and I surf TSR's free stuff every few days. I used to have MTS2 as my home page; and still check in there often. All my downloads are free.

I choose Easter as it has a very special meaning for me.
I can remember when I was very young getting all dressed up in my new fancy dress, making sure I had my hankie in my new purse and making sure my gloves and hat were on tight before heading off to church with my sister and brothers. Then coming home to easter egg hunts and making myself sick on chocolate bunnies and marshmallow chicks.
More recently, Easter became an even more special day. My only child, my daughter, was born 3 days before easter and we were released from the hospital on Easter sunday, so I always associate the holiday with her coming into my life.
There wasn't much out there to portray this holiday on the outside of a house, but I did my best with what I could make, and what I could find.
In front of the house are lillies, almost always associated with Easter. And you can see eggs snuggled under the benches and bushes. A large flag on the front of the house declares the holiday. In the back, between the trees, you can see the small chapel where services where held. On the flowery lawn to the right of the house are toys and baskets of eggs for the children.
Can you find all the eggs hidden in the garden?

Christmas is definately my favourite holiday so I had to go with that. In New Zealand its summer and the beginning of the school holdiays at Chistmas so we always have a huge family get-together - often for a week or more.
My parents live near a lake so all 5 of their kids and our offspring and better halves descend on them most years - we usually camp on the lawn. Last year the whole tribe had Chrsitmas at our place - we live near the sea. So Christmas for us is BBQ's, sunshine, boating, kids and outdoor living. Christmas lunch is usually bring a plate or "potluck" plus a BBQ.
So here is my sim version of a Kiwi Christmas.

A favourite holiday is very hard to choose, but having married into a very large true Irish family I have learned to love St. Patty's day. Large family gatherings with no need for large preparations. Just good food, good friends and . . . good green beer. So top of the mornin to you.
Long view across the front of the house, showing the gazebo where those who enjoy the early spring and the sent of the shamrocks can relax.

The shamrock flanked front walk leading to the front door and the flowerbed are filled with still more shamrocks.

Looking into the garage, decorated with Irish banners, there is the makeshift bar, kegs of green beer and patio furniture temporarily set up. We can see that everything is ready for our guests and our holiday celebration. This is one day where the whole family (I did mention it was large) gets together so every corner of the house must be put to use.

As the day draws to an end the celebration will still continue so it's important for things to look as good at night as it did in daylight.
