Myrra was relieved, they were getting near! They might just get through this.
She bounced along the sea floor. It was definatly not something she was used to, being underwater for so long without drowning. It was an odd sensation.
She entered the house, accidently knocking over some heavy ornament. It fell slower than usual to the floor, where it hit with a dull thud, but didnt seem to break. Myrra looked around, seeing if anybody witnessed her clumsyness. Durin sat on the other side of the room. She smiled.
Myrra brushed her hair back, which had flowed over her face, and bent down to pick up the thing, setting it carefuly back where it was before looking around the room.

Silas sat very much alone, silent, eyes glazed over and seemingly not all 'there', until Lynnia moved to him. "Silas." For another long moment he was still; then, slowly, his eyes tilted up. "I am sorry about Layre." Something in her voice made it hard for him to believe that she actually felt sympathy for him; as she moved away, he turned his back to her and said nothing. Did she really know how it felt for no one to believe you? To follow logic and have people disregard it like you never really mattered to begin with? Silas was sick of it, sick of being cast aside like he did not matter.

But what could he do?

Silas wilted, closed his eyes, and fell onto his side. "Hi.... Silas, that was really brave of you to say what you said..." The voice seemed familiar... did he know the speaker? His eyes opened again, and he was pleasantly surprised to see Madeline sitting near him. Pushing himself back to a sitting position, he smiled at her.

"It wasn't that brave," he said quietly.

"Yes it was....when everyone's lives are on the line, your still strong enough to stand up to people who could very well vote you out." Madeline smiled.
"I could never do that.... I'm not.... strong, like you..."
Madeline let her shoulders drop and her head hanged low. She watched as the drips of water from her hair fell to the ground, making a small pool.

She let out a sigh.

Korinne felt slightly awkward sitting next to Haydar. She hadn't really talked to him before, but she needed a seat and the only place left was by Haydar. Suddenly Haydar spoke, to Korinne.
"It looks as if Myonador would be a good place to go ..."
Korinne hadn't actually been thinking about this at all, she was deciding whether Haydar could be a threat.
"Um, yeah. Myonador looks... good to me" Korinne hastily replied.
They sat in silence for a few minutes, but then saw somebody walking toward them.

Orehael was quite surprised when I told him of my fear of the water. As I talked, he simply shook his head in disbelief. "Why had you never told me of this?"

"Well" I thought a bit before answering "I guess it just never came up before."

There was a certain beauty to this underwater place that we were staying in - a beauty that helped calm even my fears. I had noticed that I did not appear to be the only one of the companions with the same fear of the water, and I wondered how the others were handling being under water for so long. I was worried about Orehael, as I could tell he was growing more and more uncomfortable with each passing minute that we stayed. This is unnatural for us all my love - be patient.

People were asking the teller questions - questions that she couldn't possibly know the answers to. I listened to each answer, trying to gain some knowledge from one of her answers, but each one left me as thirsty for knowledge as I had been previously. These were not answers at all - she was simply saying something to appease us. I wanted names. I wanted to know what city held the palace - who hides behind the facade of a companion.

There was one thing I wanted to know even more than that, but was afraid to ask. His name had been called too many times. Why did people think him to be a traitor? Certainly not Orehael...it couldn't be. I would never believe it to be true. I wanted to know if Orehael would survive - if there was any way...

The thought of losing him was maddening. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to cry or break something. I was sure of one thing though - I wasn't letting him out of my sight tonight.

I walked up behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Orehael" I whispered in his ear. "I want to be alone with you tonight."

My face was cradled in his hands as I fought back the tears. He leaned in and kissed me gently, then took my hand and led me out of the underwater house we were staying in.

Now that most votes were in, people were breaking off into their small groups again. I floated by alone. I saw Orehael and Vasquez leave together. I saw Madeline and Silas sitting together. Haydar and Korinne spoke together. It seemed that even in the midst of death, life would go on. Simple feeling would go on.

I sighed. Indeed life would go on. I knew I still had to give a name to sacrifice. Did it matter? So far only the innocent had died. Finally, exhausted with my wanderings, I dropped down onto a bench. I was tired of death. I was tired of choices. I was just tired. I leaned my head back, closed my eyes and whispered a name aloud.

The teller had not given me an answer, fearing for her own life. I could not say that I blamed her, though I had hoped for something more. If not the name of a traitor, then at least the name of one who was surely innocent--one that we would know to not nominate for sacrifice. Not that it would matter for me much longer. My name had been spoken the most of all, and only Amethyst remained to vote. Surely she would vote for me as well. Why not? I had voted for her in the past. I recalled the memory grimly. Most of us had voted for her, yet in the end we had claimed the life of another. I would not be so lucky.

Lost in my thoughts, I did not even hear Vasquez walk up behind me. Or perhaps it was this underwater world--there really were no footsteps. Either way, I felt her arms around my waist, and felt bittersweet. This could very well be the last moment I would have with her. "Orehael," she whispered in my ear. "I want to be alone with you tonight."

I turned and cradles her face in my hands. I could tell she was on the verge of tears, and as much as I wanted to cry as well, I had to stay strong for her. Leaning forward I kissed her gently and took her hand in mine. Together we walked out of the house in which we stayed, away from the others. If this was to be our last night together, we would share it together, in private. There was so much I wanted to tell her, so many things I wanted to say. I knew not if I could find the strength...but I would try.

We walked a considerable distance, aimlessly wandering it seemed. Her hand stayed in mine and we walked in silence, neither sure we were able to speak without losing control of our emotions. Finally we had walked far enough. I was sure we were alone. I stopped walking and pulled her close to me. My arms wrapped around her and I held her tightly. I needed to remember this. I needed to remember how she felt against me, how her hair smelled. I needed to remember every little detail. I needed to take those memories with me to the Hall of Madros.

Vasquez pulled away from me slightly, though she remained in my arms. She looked at me and I studied her eyes. I knew she was trying to be brave, just as I was. I didn't know if I could be brave much longer. I moved my right hand from her back to her cheek and gave the best smile I could manage.

"Do not be sad, my love," my voice came as a mere whisper and I could feel the tears forming. I squeezed my eyes closed and the tears flowed freely. I felt Vasquez's hand brushing the tears from my eyes, and I embraced her. I held her tighter than I had ever held anyone, thinking to myself that I would never let her go. That this moment would last forever, that she and I would live and we would be happy.

I envisioned our future. A future full of love, of happiness, of peace. The ring destroyed and the world safe. We would grow old together, we would have a family, we would never leave one another's side. I let out a miserable wail as I realized that all those things I saw, all those things I dreamed, would never come to be...

Amethyst shakily stood up. It was her turn to vote, but what possible impact would it have on the final results. She saw Orehael cast her a sideways glance. Did he think that she was to vote for him?? She turned away from his gaze, afraid that something might snap inside her... something fragile... Amethyst turned and quickly cast her vote, looking more solemn than ever.

The branding on my neck brings back horrible memories. It is simply a stamp that reveals my imprisonment.

So the question is would the place that holds the Hidden Palace be the place where the teller was once imprisoned? It could be. So this would mean then that Elendil was imprisoned in this same place then, since she had the stamp as well? Eeek. If that's where the palace is, I'm not sure I want to go...

Sacrifice Day 6 Results

Breathing underwater was a new thing for almost all of the companions, and many had a fear of living underwater. Even the most tough companions such as Vasquez felt uncomfortable in this setting. A teller invited all of them to stay at her house, and the underwater house was beautiful. As Myrra entered the huge house made of coral, she jumped and accidentally knocked off one of many beautiful shells. Others such as Madeline and Silas kept busy talking. Many other companions questioned and chatted with the teller. She was a mysterious creature.

Few companions saw the beauty of the underwater kingdom. The colorful reef, mysterious creatures, and fascinating architecture were all astounding. Many companions kept busy worrying about the palace; their journey may end soon. Time is running out and they need to escape this place and travel to another city as soon as possible. This sanctuary was peaceful, but the companions started to break the peace as rumors fled around the Teller's house. Orehael was especially fearful for his life. He listened quietly as he heard people talking about him. Is he a traitor? He could imagine a perfect life without the ring and a beautiful family, but his dreams were slowly fading away.

Everyone started to pack their things and move up towards the surface of the ocean, except one. Korrine was tied up and then thrown over an underwater cliff. She floated down to the very pitch black section of the ocean screaming .

You'll regret doing this to me!! They head there way to Myondar.

The companions ate at the teller's house and their food bank has been refurbished. The third force's previous stealings did not effect the large amounts of fish and other goods they have eaten.

The companions are very tired. All of the swimming, walking, and murdering is getting to them. As the companions walk through the woods of Mitheldor and towards Myondar, they notice a cottage. It was a pretty big cottage and it was surrounded by beautiful flowers and gardens.

It was good to be walking on land again. Being underwater for so long was, disconcerting to say the least, and yet one of us was fated to stay behind forever. Once again we'd made the wrong choice and it was innocent Korinne who paid for our audacity. Her screams as she disappeared into the dark void will haunt my dreams forever.

My thoughts were interupted by a yell from behind me. I looked back, then shrugged and kept going. I counted 14 so no one else was dead. Other than that, I really couldn't bring myself to care why someone screamed.

If they were wise though, the would've screamed on the inside instead of the outside, I thought randomly. How many traitors were amongst us? Would they soon be able to overwhelm us as we kept killing innocents?

I was brought out of my thoughts as someone called my name.

"Hello Lynnia, may I walk next to you?" I stopped and looked. Haydar. Had I ever spoke to him before this? Had I ever voted for him, or he for... I suppose it wasn't important. We were all guilty of something. Suddenly, I wanted conversation and companionship. I was sick of the thoughts in my head. I nodded at him. He was silent a minute then said, "I am just a little curious ... What is it like to carry the ring? Does it affect you a lot? Did you notice anything when people were dying? Inside my head I laughed like a mad woman. It was just too perfect. Outwardly though, all I did was stop and look at him. I took one of his hands and placed his fingertips against the ring. He quickly jerked them away.

"This ring may have been forged in the fires of the Underworld, but it has never once been anything but cool to the touch since the night I took it from Algernon. It is such a little thing, but it is so heavy. And it grows heavier with each day that passes. It is always in my mind. Whispering, laughing, urging me to wear it. It wants to be worn. It wants to be found." I saw several others frown at my statements. I looked away for a moment, then looked back at him.

"It affects us all, and it grows stronger with each drop of blood spilled. For now my will is stronger thn its evil. I will not falter nor will I wear it." I fell silent. I turned away and started walking again.

The forest area in which they were now traveling was strange to Amethyst. Not because of it's beauty, which shone out like a gem in ashes, but that in her time this forest didn't exist. She sighed, for this was a drag. They had been traveling for weeks now, trying, in vain it seemed to find the Hidden Palace, and nothing had turned up.

She walked alone this leg of the journey, as Haydar had decided to chat with Lynnia. Amethyst didn't mind. She was eager to have some alone time. When the group stopped for lunch, Amethyst took the opportunity to write up a new spell. Unlike popular theory, new spells are constantly being written by any and everyone, like recipes, to conform with their own habits. Amethyst was attempting to bypass a part of the rain-healing spell, which she had used back in Clo. Her food pack replenished by their underwater escapade, and her belongings preserved Amethyst was pretty much content with the current situation, but, through the lack of developement, and the sheer frustration of the whole journey, Amethyst had decided that she had had just about enough of this when...

Through a clearing, the small group spotted a large cottage. It had a thatched roof and lovely gardens surrounding it. A murmur washed over the previously silent group of travelers. Should they go in or not? The question was passed around, and Amethyst was the first to answer. "I believe that we should go into the house. Whatever's in there can't be nearly as bad as what's chasing us." Amethyst sat down, unsure if her decision had been the right one...

"I think we should take a look inside" I said.

We walked through the woods, my hand gripping Orehaels firmly. He lived, but the one person I felt to be my friend was gone. Whether we'd voted to sacrifice her or not, we were all guilty in the death of Korinne.

We fell behind the group, watching the others as they walked through the woods. "Where are you my love?" Orehael said, sensing my distance.

"How many of them do you think there are Orehael?". I slowed my walk down slightly as I fell deeper and deeper into my thoughts.

"Traitors? I fear I do not know." His face showed the pain in his heart. He had come so close to death. We had spent a long tearful night together, saying our goodbyes, expecting that he wouldn't live to see another day. And yet, he stood here next to me, walking with me. I feared that these traitors may be more than I had imagined them to be - more than Saxton had prepared me for.

Ahead of us, the group came to a stop as they appeared to be looking at something in the woods. When we came around the bend, we saw it. A beautiful cottage with a thatch roof and a large garden. I eyed it suspiciously, knowing full and well that all is not always as it appears. This beautiful cottage could very well contain the purest of evils. The group was tired however, for it had been a long journey. This may be the last place that offers us rest for quite some time.

It was a tough decision - to trust the beauty of the cottage, or to doubt it's truth. I stood to the side, listening to the other's opinions. It seemed as if everyone wanted to go in and I most certainly would not be sitting it out to watch them all walk into a trap.

"I will go in first - if we are to decide to enter" I said, my voice raised so that the group could hear me. Orehael started to speak up, but I interupted him. "I will be going in first." I pulled my dagger from it's sheath, twirled it on my finger and slid it back in, then turned and took a place on a nearby log.

The ring was starting to get to me. I was starting to feel it's anger - it's power. My stomach churned with sickness as I scanned the group looking for Lynnia. She now held the ring and appeared to be resisting it's call. I knew that I had to stay on the other side of the group from her, as the ring was making me ill. I dug into my bag and retrieved the bottle of rum from the bottom, pulling the cork out and taking a big swig of it. As I lowered the bottle from my lips, I could see Durin eyeing me. I should have known better than to pull my rum out in broad daylight. I scoffed lightly as I rolled my eyes, then extended my arm to him - offering him a swig.

Korinne was just another innocent companion. Myrra felt down, really down. They're all going to kill eachother eventually. Was she going to be next?
She pushed her mind away from the subject, not wanting to think about dying on this journey. Instead she brought her mind to the subject of the cottage they had come across. Myrra believed they should visit, maybe the people who lived there would be kind, and let them stay. She smiled slightly at the thought.
She wandered to a tree and sat down, alone. She wanted to be alone, but she also ached for conversation, but didnt feel up to approaching somebody herself.

You wish to ask whoever dwells that house where the palace is? To reveal to them that we hold a ring of power? Foolish!"

I cast my glare to all around me, the majority of them having already decided to enter that home. It seemed unwise to reveal our journey to more people than absolutely necessary. If Dreama had not known where the palace was, why would a forest dweller know?

The last part was spoken bitterly. They had tried to sacrifice me, and the only way I had survived was to directly contribute to the death of another. I would not do that again. I would not follow this group blindly as they led me to my death. Not even Vasquez could convince me to trust any among us, or any decisions they made.

"Do you still think it was a good choice to come here from your time?"
Amethyst looked up. Haydar had sat down on the log next to her. She smiled wryly. "It doesn't really matter. I believed that my going back here was the only way to find out about what happened. Now I am, but not in a way I could have imagined, or would have wanted to." She furrowed her brow, then a sudden thought came to her. While she did not know the events that were to happen, as no documents had survived from the present time, she did know a spell that could tell the future. She suddenly turned and rummaged through her bag with upmost haste.
"Uh, Amethyst, what are you doing?"
"Getting a spell."
"For?...."
"To see the future!" She had said this a little too loudly, perhaps, because almost every other member of their ever-shrinking group looked up with wide eyes and stared at her. Moira seemed a little more interested than the others, but turned back to her book when she noticed Amethyst staring at her.
"You can do that?" Haydar asked, surprised himself.
"Oh, yes. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it before."
"But can't you tell where the Hidden Palace is from that?"
Amethyst bit her lip. "Well, it doesn't work that far ahead in time. I do not have the exact spell memorized for seeing days or perhaps weeks into the future, and that spell was banned by the Bordales Magical Convocation a few years ago."
Haydar cast Amethyst a quizitive look.
"Oh, I meant for me anyways. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to utter the spell in this time, but as I said, I don't quite have it memorized. But anyway, this spell is the best we have." Amethyst said this and motioned toward the delicate crystal decanter which held a light green liquid. She rummaged through her pack and got out a large silver bowl, which was for holding potions such as the Time-Seer potion.

Amethyst uncorked the decanter. A faint wisp of green smoke and shiney sparkles wafted from the bottle. She delicately poured the liquid into the bow. It shimmered, then turned a deep blue, almost black. Amethyst closed her eyes and uttered some words in Atlantean Latin. The liquid now turned foggy and grey, swirling around like some giant stormcloud. Amethyst opened her eyes, and looked into the bowl. What should have met her eyes was not there, instead the swirling grey cloud remained in the bowl. Whatever was to meet them in the cottage, Amethyst could not tell.
"Amethyst? Did it work?"
"No. Unfortunately, I can't tell you or anyone what will happen inside the cottage. They shall remain hidden from us until they actually take place....."

Calliope's mind runs rampant with curiosity. It is a monstrous force that does not rest until it has been indulged. Like that time when she wanted to look into the fountain. In my opinion, something bad might happen, but it could also be good. We wont know until we see. I don't know about you guys, but Calliope would go crazy over not knowing what was in there, and I'm pretty sure nobody wants to deal with psychotic-breakdown Calliope.

Amethyst was messing around with bottles and stuff to make a spell. I had never seen anything like that before, I had only read about it. Several other members of our group were watching as well.
Finally she seemed to be finished.

RP: Durin blinked the sweat out of his eyes, and rubbed his forehead on his grubby sleeve. Walking an' swimming for days... 'Nough to drive us mad. Even is we are already, he thought lazily. The sun shone brightly, and as the companions tramped along beaten roads, the lack of shade seemed to be getting to a number of them. "It's not even particularly hot," Durin moaned. "Blasted sun!" This was different from the humid mist of Clo - there was just the unrelenting beat of the sun. Gradually the companions came near a vast cottage surrounded by many pockets of various types of flowers and plants.

Durin furrowed his brows and, pulling several hanging branches out of his way, and stepped closer to the cottage. "It looks to well kempt to be abandoned," he thought aloud slowly. "Could be someone in there who'll help us." He turned to see the expression of the other companions. Moira looked almost hopeful, while Haydar looked thoughtful as if churning the options over in his mind, and Vasquez, after a moments of what Durin thought might be doubt (But that's impossible, he reasoned. Calculating, more like.) looked determined. "I suppose we should go in," Durin said slowly. "We'll be beating ourselves up if we don't, and think it could've been good."

Durin stepped away from the cottage, pondering his decision. Vasquez was uncorking a bottle of... Rum? Durin snapped around to look at her. Gods, what I'd do for a drink... Vasquez rolled her eyes, and extended an arm. Durin stared for a moment, unsure of this miracle, Then, he tentatively reached out, then rabbed the bottle from her hands and took a good, long swig. "Oh gods, thank you!" He gasped. He shut his eyes and put a hand to his head. "Milady, that was terribly rude of me, but... Begging your pardon, Vasquez.' [I}How'm I supposed to adress her anyway? She could kill me in a snap![/I] 'Sorry," he said helplessly, and wiped the trickle of rum away from the corners of his mouth.

The Cottage

As the companions walk through the woods of Mitheldor and towards Myondar, they notice a cottage surrounded by beautiful flowers and gardens. Everyone is weary, and they ponder whether they should stop in and maybe rest a little bit. When they enter the cottage they see a woman laying down on a couch and reading. The cottage is light and smells sweet and it's very earthy. Everyone's spirits lifted as they walked in, hoping that the woman wouldn't be angry.

She got up and walked to them. She told the companions that she knows why they are at her house, to rest. She then picks up one of the potions laying on her counter. It was purple and smelled like flowers, but nobody knew what it did.

Drink this potion.....

The companions did not listen to words, and much to my dismay they decided to enter the cottage. I, of course, accompanied them rather reluctantly. I had to watch over Vasquez, after all. I was still convinced this cottage was not a place we should be entering. When we walked through the door we saw a woman laying on a couch reading. The environment that seemed to exist in this place was soothing, relaxing. I found myself smiling as I looked at this lady, not sure why my mood has suddenly lifted. When she stood and walked towards us though, a familiar feeling of dread encompassed me. No...something was wrong, very wrong with this place. The woman rose from the couch and offered the companions a potion from her counter. I shot glances to those around me, willing them not to swallow the liquid within the bottle. My eyes settled on Vasquez and I shook my head slightly. I didn't know if she saw though, her eyes were fixed on the woman before us and the potion. My heart started racing and I could feel panic rising within me. I couldn't allow Vasquez to take the potion.

"I will take some first," I spoke quickly and loudly so all could hear me. If it were poison, I would die, and Vasquez would know not to take it...

Amethyst stood nervously in the womans living room. Was this a mistake? Had coming into her home inadvertantly set in motion a chain of events that could lead to all of their deaths?! Amethyst had to steady herself on a chair; her head was beginning to spin. Her mind dwelled briefly on the events that had taken place earlier that morning...

"Well, there would be very much to say, it is so different from this time. But I don't know if it would be good to tell you ..." Amethyst started.
"You know, I have been thinking about that for quite a while ... Do you think you could take me with you when you return to your time? Such a lovely little cottage, I thought to myself as we entered. I sniffed the potion she handed to us. Flowers. I was reminded, painfully, of my garden at home, one of the few things I actually missed. All she would say was "Drink this potion," but would not say what it did. For the first time since starting this quest, since Algernon's death, I felt at peace. What I had told Haydar was true, but now, the ring no longer felt heavy. It's evil voice, which everyday enticed me more and more, was muted. I heard Orehael offer himself to test it, but where would that leave Vasquez? Either one could be a traitor, but right now all that seemed important was the love.

"No Orehael," I said in a dreamy serene voice. "I'll do it. I'll take the first drink."

At best it would help us, at worst it would kill me, but I no longer feared death, in fact I could almost welcome it.

My eyes stayed fixed on the potion as I tried to figure out the woman in front of me. The house was soothing and peaceful, but everything inside was screaming that it was a trap. Something about this house - about this woman - was too perfect...too calm.

She offered us a potion to drink, but wouldn't reveal what the potion was for. When I enquired of it's contents, she simply grinned and returned to her seat. I stared at her hard, thinking that a mean glare would be enough to make her give up her secrets, but she held firm. I could hear everyone around me voicing their opinions. They were not fooled either. Nobody was going to fall for this trick of the mind.

"I will take some first." My eyes shot up to see Orehael glaring at me. I knew exactly what he was thinking. He was trying to save me.

Unfortunately, he was not the one standing in front of the potion. I grabbed a bottle, pulled the cap off, drank it's contents and slammed the bottle back onto the counter.

Now we would see if it was truly poison or not - without risking his life again.

Myrra suddenly wasnt so sure, she half expected some axe murderer waiting beyond the door. It was just all so fishy.
However, no axe murderer inhabited the cottage. Instead, there was a woman, she was laying down on a sofa reading. Upon enering, she looked up, and walked over to them.
The woman offered them a potion. Myrra stared at it. It was purple, a fragrent scent of flowers wafted up from the bottle. Some said they wanted to drink it, others expressed complete distrust. Others didnt seem to be sure.
"Ill try it." She said outloud. Looking around. She knew it was a bit stupid, who knew what was in that stuff. But still she was stubborn, she wanted to see what would happen and refused to listen to that little voice.

I watched in horror as Vasquez took the bottle and emptied it of its contents. My first reaction was concern--what had she done? What if it were poison? What if she had just condemned herself to death, to leave me here among traitors well hidden? What would I do if she died?

My next reaction was one of pure and utter anger. Foolish woman, risking her life, once again with no concern for where that left me. If she died, did she even care what would become of me? So blinded by rage, I did not see that she had done only what I attempted. She merely spoke with actions, while I had spoken with words. My anger though would not subside, it would not listen to reason or rationalization.

Though my mind told me to still drink the potion--that it had not killed Vasquez yet so perhaps its contents would grant something amazing--my anger would not listen. "So easily you risk your life Vasquez. I, though, no longer have reason to do so." I glared at Vasquez as I spoke, my voice low and calm, though the emotions raged within me. Turning to the woman who had offered the potion I spoke, "You may keep your potions and their contents, for I will not so foolishly consume of something thats ingredients are not disclosed. I, unlike some here, care not to be responsible for my own death."

With that, I turned on my heel and stormed out of the cottage and into the gardens on the homes perimeter. I sat here, in the middle of the beautiful gardens, and felt a weight lay upon my shoulders, heavier than any burden I had felt before...

As we traveled through the forest we came upon this really cozy cottage. It had the most beautiful gardens surrounding it. I was immediately at ease just being in the general area of it. I know others were very wary of it but I didn’t understand how something so wonderful could be bad. We entered the cottage and there was an old woman in there reading. She offered us some purple potion without an explanation of what it was for or what it might do. I listened as others made up their own decision about drinking it. I wasn’t sure of it… there was no explanation… that made me uncomfortable. It smelled of flowers such a wonderful fragrant… it took me back home. I don’t know why but I felt more and more comfortable in her home. I decided to drink the potion.

I went out into the garden to walk among the flowers… I always found peace in nature. As I walked around the side of the cottage there was a little dew pond hidden in a bed of hydrangea’s. I looked around and didn’t see anyone so I decided to slip into the pond. It reminded me so much of home… we didn’t stop in Noral when we were up north… and I couldn’t help myself. I laid back and closed my eyes… I thought… just for a moment…take me back there… back where everything made sense.

I slammed the bottle back down on the table and wiped the remnants of the potion from my lips. There. It was done. Orehael was safe. Now we would see if this potion was safe to drink or not, without risking his life.

"So easily you risk your life Vasquez. I, though, no longer have reason to do so." He walked out and slammed the door behind him, leaving me standing in the cottage, the subject of everyone's glares.

"It's nothing any of you wouldn't have done either." I looked them all over again, realizing that my statement may not hold true. "Hopefully."

I could see him through the window - sitting in the garden, his head hung low. A wave of sadness took over me as I waited for the effects of the potion to kick in. Watching him from inside, a realization hit me harder then his cold glare did. This may be the last time I see him. Unlike the night we had together in Mitheldor, our last words to each other may be out of anger.

The sickness I had been feeling was building quickly, perhaps due to the fact that I was standing so closely to Lynnia and the ring. "Vasquez? Are you all right?" I wasn't sure who said it, as I was already running outside and towards the woods. I made it just to the treeline before the contents of my stomach burst out onto the ground. I couldn't help but think how odd it was that none of it was purple - the poison was obviously still coursing through my veins. I was wet with sweat as my whole body shook. My only comfort as I stayed to the ground, was that it was I that was feeling the effects of the poison, and not Orehael.

I sat down and wiped my mouth off, waiting for the next wave of nausea to hit. As I tried to get my breathing under control, I felt a hand on my back. "Shhh..." a soft voice whispered behind me.

I turned to see Lynnia standing behind me, a look of concern on her face. I wanted to scream at her - to tell her to get the ring away from me. Instead I let her sit with me, her hand on my back, while I tried to get my stomach back under control again.

Sacrifice Day 7 Results

The companions were spectacle of the woman. Why would she want them to drink a purple potion? Amethyst, Orehael, Moira, and Madeline all declined to drink the potion. The woman gave the other 10 companions each a tube of potion. They all drank it down straight away. All of them felt great and revived afterwords.

However... One did not.

Minutes after her death the woman told the companions that she wanted to die and she was dead weight. The companions started to head out. She gave them some advice:

I was in the gardens, the anger still fresh within me, when Moira approached me. I hadn't talked to her much during this journey, and I didn't know if she could be trusted, but it really didn't seem to matter anymore.

"Is something the matter?" Moira asked.

"Vasquez drank the potion, risking her life, without even thinking of me, what if she had died?" I responded, not entirely sure why I was speaking of this with her.

"What happened after she drank it?" Moira asked.

I looked at her, struggling to control my anger. "Nothing, yet. I was going to drink it before her. What she did was foolish."

"How can you call her foolish!? You would have done the same thing, making YOU the fool." Moira responded.

I, of course, had thought of that already...but my anger was not listening. I sighed and looked away from Moira, staring into the air as I spoke. "Does all of this still seem worth it to you, Moira? This journey, this idea of destroying the evil ring? Is it worth everything's that happened?"

Before she could answer, I sighed again and looked her in the eye. "It doesn't seem to matter to me anymore. Nothing seems to matter anymore. My life, the ring, the world. The only thing that matters is Vasquez...and I don't think I'll live to see a future with her. So...nothing matters." I looked away from Moira at this point, staring once again into the nothingness of the air.

That's when I heard a slight commotion within the walls of the cottage--someone was dead, but no matter how much I knew I should care, I did not. Instead of rushing into the cottage to see who had died, to make sure it was not Vasquez, I found myself rooted in place, staring at nothing.

Lynnia didn't stay long - just long enough to make sure I was feeling better, then she headed back into the cottage. I stayed where I was, my seat planted firmly to the ground. The further away she got, the better I felt. It must be that stupid ring that's doing this to me.

I was finally managing to walk back when I heard the commotion. I got back inside the cottage to find Lynnia, dead from the potion she drank. I lowered myself next to her body and shook my head in disgust. It didn't seem to effect anyone that drank it, besides her...and it ended up killing her. Perhaps it was because she held the ring. The Ring. I knew what this meant - how it would make me feel - but I saw no other choice. I removed the ring from her pocket and held it in my hand. Closing my hand tightly around it, I stood up and turned to leave. "But Vasquez..." someone said behind me. I said nothing to them. I am the only one strong enough physically to carry this ring and live. If I couldn't deliver this ring to the palace, then nobody could. I would do it, or die trying. I put the ring in my pocket, took a deep breath to control my queasy stomach, and pushed through the door.

As I walked out towards the garden, I passed Moira, who was obviously just leaving the side of Orehael. She glanced at me, then kept on her way. I found him sitting on a log, his head hanging in front of him. I laid my hand on his shoulder, remaining behind him.

"Thank you for your concern Moira. I assure you I am fine." he said, his voice much quieter than usual.

Keeping my hand on his shoulder, I moved around to the front of the log and sat down next to him. "You don't sound fine my love." All I wanted to do was hold him, but I had a feeling I was about to be yelled at. Before he could get the chance, I lowered my head onto his shoulder and whispered "The potion was fine my love. I'm fine."

I felt a hand upon my shoulder, and wondered when Moira had left my side. I had been so engrossed in my own thoughts I hadn't even noticed that she had left. But she had come back, obviously concerned over the hopelessness in my voice.

I sighed and spoke quietly, "Thank you for your concern Moira. I assure you I am fine." Those words did not make her leave though. Her hand remained on my shoulder.

Then I saw that it was not Moira at all. It was Vasquez. She sat down on the log next to me, looking at me with eyes that spoke of nothing but love.

"You don't sound fine my love," Vasquez spoke. I was about to begin yelling, to tell her she was foolish, to tell her she should not have risked her life. But then she lowered her head onto my shoulder and her voice was a whisper. "The potion was fine my love. I'm fine."

Tears stung at my eyes as I wrapped my arms around her and held her close. "You drive me mad woman. Please, don't ever do that again. Don't risk leaving me. I couldn't bear it."

Vasquez's body in my arms felt so right, so perfect. I knew she wouldn't promise to not risk her life for me, for that is not something I would promise either. She loved me as I loved her, which meant she would try to protect me at all costs. I only wondered if we would be able to protect each other in end...

Twenty eight people, all coming from various areas of Middle Earth made their way to find the Hidden Palace. It's been weeks and they haven't discovered anything. Twenty eight people eventually turned into 14. People were dying everyday, and the bloodshed deeply affected them. They were advised not to wear 'The Ring' and one did...

It was a weary night for the companions. Lynnia had recently died and the companions were shocked. Why would the mysterious woman only poison Lynnia's potion. Amethyst thought to herself quietly. The wealthy jeweler was used to traveling, but this was different.

"Who are these secret murders.. Why would they kill innocent people?" she accidently whispered out. She wasn't sure if they were Magrodors or just theives. She slowly got up from her bed and walked out of her tent. The forests of Myondar are beautiful. There's a natural darkness in the forest, but the atmosphere felt so mysterious.. In a good way too. She sat down on a log. Everyone seemed to be a sleep. Little did she know that the traitors were secretly meeting.

Back at the camp, Amethyst walked under a large tree. She had a bad feeling. She knew something was going to happen, but she wasn't too sure. She suddenly saw Silas and he walked up and sat next to her. "Hey what are you doing up so late?" he asked. Amethyst opened her mouth, but by the time she could respond she say Silas with a sharp knife in front of her face.

He took the knife and cut our Amethyst's brain and eyes and ate them. She died immediately.


Everyone had heard the screams of Amerthyst, and people started to wake up. She was already dead by that time, but the killing has just begun.

Moira knew what was happening. The traitors were restless and they were going to kill them all. She suddenly saw Elroen clumsily get out of his tent and walk towards someone running with a knife. She immediately twirled around and flew up high into the sky. She flew over to Elroen, picked him up and started soaring as high as she could.

Serenity took out her bow and arrows. The arrows was rusty and had blood drizzling down from them. She looked up into the sky and shot 5 arrows at the same time. Moira and Elroen fell drastically down to the earth. They both died.

Orehael was desperate. He needed to find Vasquez. He was really getting worried, and started to yell out for her. He then saw something that made him struck him deep.

It was something that resembled Orephael's love. Vasquez walked towards him with a dagger in her hand.

"This is our only chance for freedom. I'll see you in the Halls of Madros my love."

Vasquez took the dagger and stabbed Orephael deep in the heart.

Calliope dropped to her knees as she saw her fellow friend, Orphael die. Someone ran up to her and stabbed her in the shoulder, but she quickly got up and ran away.

Madeline and Kheelan were both known for the quick thinking. They were obviously smart and ran away from the entire scene. However, Durin was closely behind.

"Hurry up Madeline! He's gaining ground on us!"

Madeline came to a full stop. She was out of breath. "I'm trying" she yelled as she started back up again.

Durin got tired of running. He immediately took out an arrow and started to shoot at the two. It took a couple tries before he finally injured them. He walked up to the two and ate them both.

The only three left were Haydar, Myrra, and Calliope. The three decided to climb up a tree, where the magrodors would surely never find them. They were silent, but a conversation soon broke out as a Magrodor spotted them.

"OMG they're coming!!" Calliope yelled out. Myrra took out her dagger. She wasn't sure if she should fight back or run. She jumped down from the tree and started to kill Durin. The other two immediatley came down to help.

Everyone else was dead. There was no one to help, and the other three Magrodors blocked them in.

Haydar looked away as he saw his once trusted companions threaten them and try to kill them. The four Magrodors looked at them. Each of them took an arrow out and pointed at least one towards each living companion. They released the arrows at the exact same time. The three died together.

Hahaha! That was good 123321. Very fun, and I'll be keeping my eyes open for another HP in the future. I had a lot of fun, and this was the perfect contest to get me into the whole roleplaying thing. Very good!

I knew Vasquez was a traitor. Beans and I are pretty good friends and I could tell something was off just by the way she was writing the character. I even talked to WooHoo about it! But, alas, Orehael fell in love so what could be done? Hehe. Very good job acting traitors! Good game. :D

EDIT: Thanks Beans! That's the perfect ending. I like that one best. You all were just a part of Vasquez's dream, so no worries. You never existed anyway. :rofl:

LOL you're right I did say that. But I did say "They/he/she can NOT be voted for by Traitors (Sacrifices or Executions)". This wasn't a sacrifice or an execution.. So it does sort of contradict yourself.

But every companion, no matter if their everlasting will die if they don't find the Hidden Palace in the end.

Snowdrop you're right! I forgot. They were all companions though :)

Yep she was! I only revealed her as a companion though, until the results now.

Because everyone who voted for her in the sacrifice would be revealed as a non-traitor- since traitors cannot vote for everlasting companions.

123321, just want to thank you for running this - it was brilliant, I really enjoyed it! It's a pity this is the last RP contest, but it did help bring about the RP forum, so good!
