Once Jericho left the doorway, he spotted Mickey in a corner, digging into... surprise, surprise... a piece of pizza. He was sitting by himself, apparently not too interested in socializing. Much like the night of the party.
Jericho could relate. Everywhere around him people were introducing themselves to one another and telling their entire life stories it seemed. Jericho didn't really feel up to the task, so instead he grabbed a can of soda and headed for a place near the corner where Mickey was sitting, although careful to keep his distance and not intrude too much on the boy's obviously chosen seclusion.
Jayden was already busy talking to some of the girls there, and Jericho didn't really see anyone else who was available to talk to. But then again, maybe he wasn't looking very hard.

[Oh, woops sorry atropa, just saw your post. I'll edit this in two seconds. :3]

Mickey shifted uncomfortably in the folding chair. It wasn't very comfy, and the room simply grew and grew with people. It seemed the small space was beginning to reach its occupancy limit. A grinning designer had entered the room, along with the ever dark and mysterious Jericho. He looked more out of place than Mickey did, though he seemed to be a little more comfortable with the current situation than Mickey. He bit his lip and rose. He should go, more people would be coming in and there was no point in staying since he'd finished eating. His stomach was satisfied, after all.

He didn't really know where he would go after that. It seemed everyone worth bothering to get to know was inside the sticky, cramped little office. Mickey sauntered over to the trash can and allowed his plate to flop into its depths. He stood there for a moment, taking in the conversations and wondering what made humans need to socialize, what made them seek the affections of others. Mickey could grasp why one might seek to impress the opposite sex. It was a matter of mating. But to seek out the attention and adoration of those who couldn't give you anything seemed pointless. He crossed his arms and with a sigh, decided to return to his spot. There was nowhere else to go after all.

It was then that he saw Jericho, standing off to himself as well. Mickey blinked up at him, then cocked a brow. They seemed a lot alike at a distance. He decided he would approach him.

"You don't like pizza," Mickey commented, noticing the distasteful looks the man was casting everyone else. "I don't either. It's better to eat sh*t than starve, though." He had half a mind to pull out a cigarette, but he thought better of it. The small space wouldn't allow the smoke to disperse well, and the room would be filled with sputtering, coughing people. "Shouldn't you be socializing?" he questioned, leaning his back against the wall.

Delilah smiled, carefully keeping her hands behind her, where her fingers picked at her cuticles, a nervous habit she'd never been able to give up. Something she always did when she knew she was expected to say something eventually and wasn't sure what to say. It happened a lot when she was sober and at work, and in the past, when she was at school.

Perhaps, she mused to herself, that's why I like to drink so much. When I drink, I'm never at a loss for words. I stop caring what people think about me, and I can just say whatever I feel like saying.

She looked around at everyone comfortably chatting with each other. God, I wish I could be like that more often without resorting to drinking, she thought.

"You don't like pizza".
Mickey's voice cut through Jericho's highly dissatisfied contemplation, and made him look up, surprised that the boy actually seemed to take an interest in talking to him.
"I don't either", Mickey continued. "It's better to eat sh*t than starve, though."

Jericho's lips curled with a smirk.
"Give me real food, or give me death", he said, somewhat straightening his back to show himself open to the idea of having an actual conversation, now that someone he actually found interesting had approached him.

"Shouldn't you be socializing?" Mickey inquired while leaning against the wall next to Jericho.

"Probably", Jericho said, scanning the room with something distant in his eyes, but returning his gace onto Mickey when he added with a smirk: "But I rarely do what I'm supposed to, and never what I'm told."

He opened the soda can and took a sip of the sweet liquid. He knew he was being difficult, and he also knew that his mood tended to get worse before it got better. But Mickey was not to blame for him being in a bad mood to begin with, and it wasn't fair of Jericho to take his frustration out on the one person that made an effort to talk to him. Therefore he decided to make an effort of his own.
"I'm sorry", he sighed. "You caught me in one of my moods. I'll behave now."

Although he couldn't keep a smirk for darting across his lips. Behaving was another thing he just didn't do.

Delilah overheard this exchange and scowled, displeased. For the first time, she let her coworkers see her rage.

"'Better to eat sh*t than starve?'" she spat out at Mickey. "You are an ungrateful little twit. Would you prefer that I serve you caviar and pheasant under glass? Well, guess what, dearie, secretaries don't make that much money. You didn't have to eat the pizza that I paid for with my own money-- you could have gone to the freaking restaurant down the freaking street, the expensive gourmet one. Would that have been more to your liking?"

She looked around, her face flushed with anger and embarrassment. Every time she tried to be nice, it seemed like it backfired!

"In fact, I did this to try and be a nice person and make sure everyone had something to eat, rather than go hungry. Some people were mature adults and didn't whine about what was offered. I'm sorry to be so bitter, but obviously, the nice approach doesn't work too well with you."

She glared at him, eyes narrowed to mere slits, angry thoughts running through her head.

[Doodoo, I have to edit my post again. Sorry DarkPhoenix. Hang on, I'll fix it. :}]

"Probably," Jericho had said while casting an observant gaze across the room. However, his eyes found Mickey's again, and he added, "But I rarely do what I'm supposed to, and never what I'm told." The boy was somewhat taken aback by the statement at first. Very few people had the guts to speak to him like that, and those who did usually went about it in a subtle manner. The dark man took a sip of his cola and then let out a little sigh.

"I'm sorry. You caught me in one of my moods. I'll behave now."

Mickey shrugged, and looked over at the older man with the slightest hints of a smile, "Whatever are you apologizing for? You were simply voicing your views. Nothing wrong with that." He played with the fingers of his gloves, the wool rough against his skin. "Besides. Behaving," he glanced over at him, his head turned to the side, "is boring. That is what all of these other people in front of you are doing. Behaving and fighting the resulting boredom by chatting about nothing. And because of this, they're dying a little inside," he finished with a dry tone to his voice, "Much better to just do what you want, right?" His nose wrinkled in distaste and he pulled out a cigarette, lit it with the little blue lighter. He wasn't used to talking so much.

A few seconds after, the red-headed secretary was in front of him, baring down on him.

Mickey didn't say anything for a moment, simply took a drag from his cigarette. Then, he crossed his arms, and a soft little laugh came from him.

"See? A perfect example. Now her true colors have shown through," he breathed out a puff of smoke into Delilah's face. "You're so much more interesting like this." He cocked his head to the side, "To the point, I hate to correct you, ma'am, but I said nothing about it being of low quality. I simply don't like pizza. It's an opinion, nothing more and I must tell you, it's very unprofessional to speak of your income to others. And also, I must point out that it's very rude to eavesdrop." He sighed. She was probably going to take that into the wrong context.

Delilah looked Mickey up and down and scowled.

"You know, Mickey," she said, "if I was a bit more of a smart***, I'd make some idiotic crack about you having to respect your elders, but obviously, you don't do that anyways, so I'm not going to waste my breath. And while we're on etiquette, you're not exactly a shining example of politeness yourself."

Lotta walked into a seemingly busy office. But no one looked like they were really doing any work. She was late, because she had been looking around town all day for a partime job to earn a little extra cash. So far, the search was no good. A filthy fast-food joint was no place for a high-end model.

Creaking open the huge glass door, she took off her sunglasses, adjusting her eyes to the light. The only thing she needed to do for the rest of the day was figure out what the heck Cecilia wanted her to do. Then, she would decide whether or not she wanted to meet everyone else in the office.

Wafting through the building was the smell of cheap pizza. Lotta wrinkled her nose at the smell and continued her quest. She was suddenly very glad she had a smoke before she entered. There seemed to be a large group of people, perhaps the entire office, congregating around the pizza boxes, high-scool-like drama included. Then, she finally spotted Cecilia. Her heels clicking against the hard floor she ran over to her. She didn't seem busy, so Lotta decided it was time to talk. "Hey, I was wondering what I needed to do? No one had told me when to come, so I'm sorry I showed a little late. It won't happen again." Lotta quickly looked down to her feet, kind of angry. What else was a model to do except to be, well, told what to do?

And while we're on etiquette, you're not exactly a shining example of politeness yourself."

It was in instances like these that Mickey's mind was warped, making him socially awkward. One could see by the mischievous little grin attempting to snake its way onto his face that Mickey was getting nothing out of this confrontation but a fat plate of amusement.

"Calm down, you're making a fool of yourself in front of your guests," he sighed, putting on a facade of exasperation. "My goal was not to insult you, make a mockery of you, or show you any disrespect. Simply to point out the faults that you presented, so that you might not make the same mistakes again."

Delilah slumped down in her chair, embarrassed. She could not believe that such hateful words had come out of her mouth.

Sure, I meant them, she thought, but that doesn't make it any better.

She looked around, her face flushed. I bet everyone in here thinks I'm a hateful, spiteful witch. Well, Delilah, you just got your wish-- you wanted to say whatever you felt like saying, without being drunk. Be careful what you wish for, she berated herself.

This was one of those times where she wished a big hole would open up in the floor and swallow her up.

Aylen arrived at the office, walking up to the fourth floor where Cecilia's office was. She was coming to apologize for not showing up for the party yesterday night. Unfortunately, she forgot the about the party and stayed at home watching re-runs of Will and Grace. Feeling sorry about what had happened, she came to apologize personally to her. Missing and event that was highly important, is not a good way to start out your modeling career.

While heading up the steps, she came up to the second floor and heard loud sounds coming from one of the rooms. Being curious, (and slightly nosy) Aylen quietly walked over, where she saw Cecilia and others hanging out and eating pizza. Before walking in to "meet and greet", she grabbed an elastic from her wrist and pulled her hair in a ponytail, she wanted to look as professional as possible.

She stepped in giving a nice bubbly smile, thinking of what to say and do. Remember what you learned, she thought. Smile, be friendly, be nice. Be the energetic person that fills up the room. At this time, Aylen wasn't feeling as confident as she tried to make herself seem. She was quite tired, but managed to hide it. She glanced around the room trying to find Cecilia.

She tossed a can of Coke to Aylen, who caught it.

"Hi, I'm Delilah," she said, smiling cheerfully, trying to pretend an argument hadn't just happened. "This is my office, and... uh..."

She looked around. "Cecilia's around here somewhere. As you can see, this office wasn't built to accomodate this many people. Help yourself to some pizza."

"Hey newbie," a voice said. "Catch!" Aylen turned her head to see a can flying at her head. Having good reflexes, she immediately caught the can, a little startled at what was happening. Realizing what was going on, she approached the woman, wondering what she was going the throw next.

"Hey, I'm Delilah," she said, giving a full smile. "This is my office, and... uh..." She waited to hear her response.

"Cecilia's around here somewhere. As you can see, this office wasn't built to accomodate this many people. Help yourself to some pizza."

Aylen gave a smile and return, and looked around the room. "Yeah, this place is... slightly packed." She popped open her coke and grabbed a slice of pizza. "This place is very cozy, I like it," she said. "So what do you do here?"

While Mickey was being yelled at by the secretary who had bought the pizza, Jericho stood beside him, watching the drama unfold. He would've said something, hadn't it amused him how well the young boy handled the situation. Mickey obviously didn't need anyone to back him up, even though Jericho felt as part of the scolding was directed at him as well.
But instead he observed the secretary. So this was the genious with the idea to offer pizza to models? What did she expect, really? She had to know pizza wasn't the first thing a model would go for, right? She'd even have to know most of them wouldn't eat it even if under gunpoint.
But oh well. She did actually seem to be more of the drama type than the clever type anyway, judging by what he had seen of her so far. First the drama at the party, and now this.

With a smirk he watched her stomp off to the other side of the room, and then turned to Mickey:
"Well, wasn't that refreshing?" he said, his voice dripping with irony.

The raven-haired boy was quite befuddled as the secretary stormed off in a blind rage, her heels clacking nosily against the tile. He didn't exactly understand what he'd done to make her so angry. Sure, he'd made a somewhat rude comment about the pizza, but hadn't he explained to her his reasoning? It was people like Delilah, he decided, that made him keep his mouth shut. Such tantrums were pointless and nothing short of annoying. He crossed his arms, but his little pout was interrupted by Jericho, who he'd almost forgotten was standing beside him.

"Well, wasn't that refreshing?" the dark man commented, and smirked over at Mickey, who gave a little smile in return. Jericho, however, was the type of person he could appreciate. Someone who wasn't afraid of rules and regulations, but was classy about his rebellion. And... he wasn't bad to look at, either.

"I'd say it was," he picked at his gloves again. "Better than seeing her sugary sweet mask. I still don't know why it is that I make her sick, though. I had thought I explained myself fairly well to her. Perhaps it's her time of the month?" he pondered aloud, and glanced up at Jericho. One of his brows arched upon his forehead. "I think she may possibly have overreacted to what I was trying to tell her."

((Hope you don't mind me joining in a little late! I'll take whatever job is open, or most needed to be filled. :] ))

Name: Rielle Drake
Gender: Female
Occupation: Assistant Manager
Age: 23

Bio: Ever heard of the filthy rich, ridiculously wealthy, high-society thriving lineage of the Drakes? Maybe not. But that's simply because they're an old money family, full of big whigs and stuffy kagillionaires who want nothing to do with the public or media. No 'It Girls' spawn from this well-to-do clan, no family members end up in trashy paparazzi mags due to embarassing indiscretions. Rielle was no exception to this rule.
Growing up as a partial heir to the Drake fortune was a blessing and a curse for the offbeat Rielle; everything was handed to her on a silver platter, and she was essentially set for life--she would never have to work a single day. However, she found the social restrictions of her family's wealth stifling. She was expected to be Miss Manners, but she quietly rebelled against her prim and proper parents in little ways; dying her hair, wearing monochromatic clothing, avoiding the gala's and dinner parties they held. Her parents treated her more like another possession than a daughter, another piece of merchandise to take stock in. Rielle loathed the lack of challenge in her life; she never had to struggle to get anything she wanted, and thusly, felt no gratification when she got it. She behaved, went to her boarding schools, excelled. She did everything she was told, but never could say she was happy. Come her 21st birthday, however, her parents brought to her attention the single even that would force her out of her privileged life to one entirely her own: an arranged marraige. With the intention of creating stronger ties to other wealthy families, Rielle's parents had arranged for her to marry the son of a wealthy entrepeneur. They gave her the ultimatum-- marry him, or get out.
Obviously, she chose the latter, and forsook her parent's lavish home to live on her own. Although not entirely alienated from her family, they cut her off from a great deal of her fortune until she agrees to marry. Until then, they helped her find a job at Queen's Clothes, and await her agreement. Something she insists will never happen.

Personality: Rielle can be described as an emotional hurricane; one moment, she’s all smiles and jokes, and the next, she takes on an air of unwavering seriousness. Usually she is laid-back, mellow, and just generally easy-going; she tries to not take inconsequential things too seriously, and leans towards optimism. It is rare to see her not smiling and laughing, for she is always finding some joy in life, random as that something might seem. She delights in the little things, especially things money can't buy. Steadfast and loyal to the death, Rielle is unfaltering in the face of adversity, especially when conflict involves those she cares for.
Like everyone, Rielle has her faults; she is horribly stubborn and mistrustful. She has a deep need for trust, and once lost from her, it will be a struggle to get it back; she is famous for holding a grudge. Rielle still somewhat feels that she must reach the perfection that was expected of her growing up, so she is often extremely hard on herself, and can become depressed and despondent easily.

"I'd say it was", Mickey replied. "Better than seeing her sugary sweet mask. I still don't know why it is that I make her sick, though. I had thought I explained myself fairly well to her. Perhaps it's her time of the month?"

Jericho laughed softly, knowing from experience just how much women tended to hate it when a guy came to that conclusion. It always seemed to make them yell even more. Especially if it was true.

"Women", he said and shook his head.
This was one of the reasons why Jericho preferred relationships with men. With sex he swung both ways equally, but relationships with men he found were just easier. There were of course exceptions, but in general men were easier to figure out, even to talk to. There were no hidden meanings when speaking, and there wasn't nearly as much drama. Relationships with women had their perks, but all in all, relationships with men lasted longer.

"I think she may possibly have overreacted to what I was trying to tell her".
Mickey's voice snapped him back to the conversation, and with a slightly scornful smile his eyes wandered over to Delilah.

"Well, Mickey...", he said. "That's what people do when you make a point they can't really argue with."

Sensing Jericho's eyes on her, Delilah looked over at him and raised an eyebrow. She gave him a defiant look, as if daring him to keep looking.

When their eyes met, and Delilah shot him a defiant look, Jericho's smiled changed into yet another smirk. So she wanted to play that game, did she? The game of who would be the first to look away, made to feel uncomfortable by having someone stare them dead in the eye, and who would remain confident the whole way through, not budging an inch. It was a game Jericho had learned to play back in high school, when someone seemed like they were about to give him a hard time. His intense blue eyes fixed on them, urging them on to dare challenge him because of the way he looked.
Needless to say, it was a game he never lost. Not back then, and sure as hell not now.

Delilah smirked a little as well.

So, he wants to play it like that, does he? she thought. Fine. I'm up for a little staring contest.

She was not a woman who was uncomfortable with eye contact. She'd stared down hundreds of people in her life.

She stared right back at Jericho, waiting to see if he would break.

He didn't.

Well, I've got all day, Delilah thought to herself. And I'm not going to lose.

She continued to stare at him, not breaking the eye contact.

He's not too bad-looking, but he sure does have a nasty attitude sometimes, she thought.

"Well we're eating pizza now, but the photostudio is on the first floor," she replied. Aylen nodded, and watched as Cecilia's eyes turned their attention to Deiliah and a man staring at each other intently.

Are they doing some staring contest? she wondered. After finishing her coke, she threw it in the trash along with her leftover pizza, and continued to watch the two. Is this what it's going to be like every day? Aylen decided to take a seat near doorway, just in case things got too crazy.

Turning her attention to the guy Delilah was staring at, she observed him carefully. He seemed quite scary, a bit unhappy to. She could tell he didn't like people that much, so she made sure to get on his good side, she wanted to make friends of course. Aylen figured he was a model, he was very good looking after all.

Her gaze soon went away from him and torwards the others around the room, they all seemed friendly enough.

As the two kept on staring at eachother, Jericho saw in her eyes that she had her mind set on not being the first to look away. Had it been any other day, or any other situation, or even any other person, he wouldn't have budged either. But it was starting to feel ridiculous, like high school all over again. He had better things to do than waste time on a secretary that went off on a teenager just because he didn't like pizza and was frank about it. They weren't many, but they were better. Plus, allowing her to win would probably calm her down, at least a little bit, and leave her not quite so uptight.
And so with an amused grin he gave her a nod, as if to say she won, but not because he couldn't keep it up, but because he got bored. It was a victory on her part, but a small one, and far from pure.
Turning away, again facing Mickey, Jericho spoke, his voice low enough for only Mickey to hear:
"Hopefully, now we'll get some peace."

Cecilia decieded to go back to her office, but first she wanted something to drink, she walked down the stairs and saw the handyman of the business.
"Oh hello!" the man said. "I fixed the elevators"

"GREAT!" Cecilia squeeled and walked to the elevators, she walked in, pressed the button and waited for it to open.

First day on the job.

Rielle smoothed her skirt as she balanced the small box of her personal affects in her free arm. She managed to push the elegant and professional-looking doors open to Queen's Clothes, where she would be working as the Assistant Manager. For a moment she hesitated when the office came fully into view, already bustling with numerous people, all murmuring in hushed tones to one another or barking orders loudly.

She glanced around and her gaze landed on a small group of people. "Quite the eclectic bunch," she thought to herself, taking note of the distinctively different individuals mulling about the office. Rielle drew in a breath and raised her chin, trying not to look as totally out of place as she felt.

"Where's my damn office anyway?" she bit her lip, scanning the many scarcely marked doors in the building. The small silver plaque with the elegant inscription 'Rielle Drake' etched upon it was sequestered behind the group of individuals she had only just noticed. A dark looking man, an oddly pretty boy, a bespectacled and fashionable woman with auburn hair...they all stood near her door. Soft breaths seeped through her lips as she gathered herself, shifting the weight of the box to her other arm.

Striding slowly towards her office, she was certain to nod politely to each person nearby with a soft and welcoming smile. Once she reached the door, she slid inside, opened the blinds, and set the box down, allowing a soft sigh to escape. What had she gotten herself into?

Delilah walked over to the office and knocked at the door. Not waiting for a response, she opened the door and peeked in and gave the newcomer a big grin.

"Hi," she said, "I'm Delilah Stanton. Things have been kind of crazy around here lately, so if things are kind of messy, that's why. There's food... uh... everywhere. Except the canteen, apparently. Welcome to the company."

She paused a moment. "Yeeeeeeeah. So, I'm going to let you get to doing whatever you were going to do."

She backed away from the door and closed it and went back to her own office area.

A soft rapping sound at the door alerted her that someone was at the door. Not even five minutes and she had done something wrong? Rielle spun quickly to face the doorway, where the auburn haired and bespectacled woman she had noticed outside stood.

"Hi, I'm Delilah Stanton. Things have been kind of crazy around here lately, so if things are kind of messy, that's why. There's food... uh... everywhere. Except the canteen, apparently. Welcome to the company."

Not in trouble, she reassured herself, just someone greeting her. Rielle's face brightened and she bowed her head gracefully.

"Thank you; it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ms. Stanton."

Her hands drifted over the box and she quickly unfolded the top, pulling out a few picture frames and a calender.

"Yeeeeeeeah. So, I'm going to let you get to doing whatever you were going to do."

Rielle smiled and pulled out a square plastic vase, set it down on her desk.

"Oh, I'm just unpacking a few things then--" but as she spoke, she heard the door click behind Delilah as she left. Rielle looked up and moved out from behind her desk and exited her room, back into the main office area where she spotted Delilah again.

"I was just unpacking," Rielle said with a shrug. "Thanks for the welcome; I'm Rielle Drake." She extended a slender and pale hand with a smile to Delilah.

Delilah shook Rielle's hand. "It's nice to meet you, Rielle. I'm one of the secretaries here. My boss, Mr. Ruppetts, is currently on vacation, I'm afraid. He's an assistant manager. If you need anything, feel free to stop by. I keep every kind of office supply in my office, including coffee, and I usually bring donuts with me every morning."

Vastly becoming bored with nothing to do, Amber decided to search out Delilah again. She found her in Rielle's office and popped in. "Hi Delilah, I was bored and I thought I'd come talk to you".

She looked over at Rielle and said "Oh I'm sorry, where are my manners. I'm Amber Radisson, I'm Miss Queen's secretary"

Rielle's full lips spread into a wider smile. A friendly face, thankfully. She listened carefully to Delilah's words, taking mental notes. 'Delilah, the secretary to Mr. Ruppetts, who is my fellow Assistant Manager,' she would have to start charting who people were and what their jobs were mentally immediately, and this was a good way to begin.

Rielle gave Delilah a grateful smile and nodded.

"I'll be sure to-- you sound so incredibly helpful, and I can't thank you enough for welcoming me." Rielle nodded earnestly and saw another woman approaching them, apparently in search of Delilah.

"Hi Delilah, I was bored and I thought I'd come talk to you." The woman looked up and caught sight of Rielle, and quickly added, "Oh I'm sorry, where are my manners. I'm Amber Radisson, I'm Miss Queen's secretary."

Rielle extended a hand to Amber with a warm smile. 'Amber, secretary to Miss Queen. Check.' The list Rielle had only created moments ago had already doubled in size.

"Rielle Drake, Assistant Manager. It's a pleasure."

The doors of the elevators opened and Cecilia walked out. She walked through the hallways and finally reached her office. She opened it and took place on the chair behind the desk. She pressed the button on the computer and it began to load. When the computer was loaded a small gold, modern pop-up popped up. (LOL!)
"You've got... 1 e-mail messages." she clicked on the pop up as her mail-box appeared, which had the same colour scheme as the pop-up. She clicked and opened the e-mail. The email was just spam and she deleted it.

{{Okay, I have awaited Hamster, and no it is stagnant so I am sending Nicolao around. meh.}}

Nicolao found the dull silence annoying. The charcoal pencil held firmly inbetween his index, and middle finger. The gown, was done in a rich chocolate brown, his mind whirling over and over the textiles he would use. It usually came to him sooner than this. He was a designer, a damn good one at that, but his mind wandered to the events of the morn.

Throughout his life, he always strived, there was always something more to accomplish, and he would live in his means. With a smirk on his tanned unlined face, he thought of the many things he did to get where he was. There were two kind of people in this world, and he was a doer.

His computer popped up an email, and with a scowl on his face, he overlooked the message. Free pizza...well I'm not hungry, and I have work to do, unlike some people around here. And after this morning, I will stay clear of women. If one man understood a woman, they should write a book. Hopeless..... Turning off the monitor to avoid any further delays, he began to shade the regal empire waist. A makeshift around the waist, a twist of old and new.

The design was far from complete, but it was acceptable for the day, he didn't get paid, by the design, but on a salary. A handsome salary to if you will. Pushing up from his leather bound seat, he looked out the window, the golds, reds, masking the hazy sky. It was his little passion to watch the sunset, and the sunrise. His own time to enjoy the earth most majestic display. The grandness of it all, the dreamer, lost in his own world of reality. A dreamland, where the golds, were not as they seemed. With more folds than an onion. The sun sank engulfed by the grayish-blue hued clouds, he too mimiced the sun, and fell back into the chair.

The chestnut brown portfolio leaned gracefully against his desk, he pulled the checkbook out and wrote a check for the sum, of ten thousand dollars. Sealing it tightly he addressed it in his own hand, and sat there mesmerized by the what he was doing. I didn't just write a check for that ten thousand dollars, I didn't.They shouldn't control me anylonger! But they did, and he for once was at a loss, he didn't have control.

Again lost in his own world, he continued his perplex stare at the envelope. So torn, of what to do, and if he should. It was too much, the stress made a vein protrude from his forehead.

((Nevermind. Couldn't find the post. Rewriting. :P))

Jamie sat down silently, looking at numerous designs. It was obvious that Nicolao was busy with his own work, so she worked at sifting through his summer dress drawings.

"This is cute," she piped up, lifting one of the designs. "Ooh, and this one is really pretty. This one is kind of long... And wow, this color with this design would be perfect! But this one is sort of gross and old lady-ish, you know?" He didn't appear to be listening, but Jamie continued. "I like the pattern on this one. This design is sort of overused." She reached the bottom of the pile of designs.

"Got anything else?" she asked impatiently, a hand on her hip. "I have to get my summer collection together before Catherin Tetherbaum. She is such a - Ooh, what are these?" Jamie picked up another pile of crumpled designs. "Very cute... But the colors sort of clash. That's not in, is it? I haven't read my copy of InStyle mag this month... I should totally reorganize my room like this." She glanced around the room admiringly. "You're sooo neat. I could really use a butler like you." She noted his confused look. "Oh, not like you would want to be my butler! I mean, you'd be paid well, but obviously you already have a job." She chuckled and sat down again. "Speaking of which, how much does a designer get paid? I've always wondered."

Nicolao looked up at her obviously offended, his workspace was private until he was ready for a showing, or for the boss directly. His damn temples hurt like a mother, and this woman was the epitome of annoyance. "Excuse me," he bellowed as he stacked his art back into the portfolio. It was odd, his work was like a piece of him, each hemline, each and every stitch was made with his blood, sweat, and toil.

If anyone could have checked his heart rate, he was sure, it would have boggled the mind of doctors everywhere. In further annoyance, he tapped his meticulously manicured fingers on the oak desk, his sight set on Jamie, "And you are? I must have missed what your business is here? If you don't mind, it is considered rude, to riffle through others works."

Then the whole butler thing, and he almost pounced from his seat, he wanted to send her packing. The nerve, the utter gall!! At that moment, he felt the heat rising in his veins, his blood began to boil like an enraged, temperamental volcano. "If you would like to remove yourself from my office feel free, I have work to do," he boldly stated in a brash tone.

If the people in this office only had an inkling, about him, they would be baffled beyond the extremes of logic. The butler crack, had pushed him to far, his charcoal pencil was moving a mile a minute. All he wanted to do was strike the whole anal conversation from his memory.

Setting the check inside his breast pocket, he continued on his latest design. Absolutely no one, was going to stop him, some red headed twit, was going to distract him. Again the same verse ran through his mind, Women......

{{Yeah Hamster, thank you for posting, I thought Nicolao was going to freeze in the chair hehehe. And don't mind him, he is a moody bloke. She rubbed him the wrong way with ease!! woah..

Still in her office, Delilah sighed and yawned, lost in her own inner monologue.

Mickey cast Jericho a look of gratitude. Only to find the man was locked in a rather intense contest with the woman across the way. Mickey frowned, and shook his head. What did that woman have against them? He’d just met her the previous day and she’d already focused her every will into antagonizing Mickey, and he was afraid he was dragging Jericho into the ridiculous little…well…feud? He wouldn’t call it that. Whatever it was considered, Jericho was sliding into it as well. Mickey crossed his arms just as Jericho had grown a crooked little grin and nodded in the woman’s direction, signifying that she had won the battle, but only at his own consent.

Jericho hissed with amusement dancing in the undertones of his voice, “Hopefully now we’ll get some peace.”

Mickey nodded, he hoped so himself. He tapped his cigarette with his finger, and ashes floated lifelessly to the floor.

“You see, this is why I hate people,” he commented with nonchalance. “While most…aren’t as bad about it as the ill-tempered Delilah, they are still prone to pointless and trying outbursts and they let themselves get encased in their emotions, often leading to incidents they will certainly regret later. There’s no self control and no sense of pride.” He took a drag of the cigarette and leaned back with his hand behind his head. “If they can clarify why they have taken such actions with a sensible explanation, I can handle them. But when they’re like Delilah’s…” he frowned, then looked up at Jericho and realized how odd it was that he was so comfortable talking with this man he’d just met. Changing the subject abruptly, he looked around, "Where the hell do we go after this?"

Aylen lifted herself from her seat, giving her foot a shake because it had fallen asleep. She was tired of sitting doing nothing, she was tired period. So she left the room and headed down to the photostudio on the first floor. There were no other models there, so Aylen took the liberty of giving a glance at the place, walking around, stuff like that.

The place seemed very cozy for her, for some odd reason. She had never been in an environment like this before, where the people were so kind to you. The thought brought her memories from her past into her mind again. The teasing and the snickering is what devastated her the most. She never knew people could be that cruel, or even 10 year olds. She blocked the image out of her head, sighing deeply before continuing to walk around the place.

Sitting down once again, Aylen grabbed her water bottle out of her purse, gulping half of it down, for both the pizza and soda made her quite thirsty. She began to think about how many models were actually working a Queen's Clothes. She had not talked to that many people, so she had to wonder. I'll ask Cecilia later, she thought. She also decided to talk to Delilah later, she hoped wasn't upset about what happened between her and the man she was staring down. She seemed nice enough.

Jericho simply looked at him, surprised at his way of talking. It sounded almost like he was reading from a book on the subject, explaining the situation in the objective way that he did. It seemed he looked at the world around him the same way, without much emotion, and Jericho briefly wondered if maybe there was some sort of emotional disorder hiding underneath that beautiful surface.
But then again, nowadays there was side a wide range of disorders that everyone seemed to have one. Besides, even if Mickey did have a disorder, it wasn't any of Jericho's business. In fact, he pretty much enjoyed Mickey's a-matter-of-fact statements.

“If they can clarify why they have taken such actions with a sensible explanation, I can handle them", Mickey continued. "But when they’re like Delilah’s...”

His voice trailed off and his pretty face was distorted momentarily by a frown. Then he suddenly looked around.

"Where the hell do we go after this?", he said.

Jericho blinked, not prepared for the sudden and complete change of subject. But then he too took a quick look around the room, and shrugged.

"Anywhere but here," he said. "This place is boring me to tears."
He sighed as he straightened his back, and then motioned his head towards the door before turning to make his way over there.
"I think I'll take another look at the photostudio", he said. "Surely there must be some people there by now."

Chloe walked into the offices of her future. She was happy to be modeling for such a popular designer. She couldn't wait until her first photoshoot, but she feared that in the meantime she would have horrible catfights with the other models that decide to be bit*hy to her. The one thing that Chloe never stood for was the stuck up girls who thought they were all that, but really deep down inside (and outside) they were little bulemic girls, who wanted to have meat on their bones. She hated when she had these thoughts, because she did become one of those stuck up girls. Chloe was still depressed about her husbands death, but she still had to pull through and support herself, becaus she knew that's what he would have wanted.

She tied the backstrap of her dress tighter. Today she was wearing a red haultertop dress which was absolutely gorgeous. She bought it at the mall for 900$ and the good thing about it, was that it was from the closet of the Queen's Clothes (meaning it was their own design). She was a bit confused where to go so she walked up to the reception desk with butterflies in her stomach.

"Hello I'm Chloe Williams, I'm a new model here...Where do I go for my first day of work." Chloe set her purse on the reception desk and pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to the receptionist. It was a note telling about her job and what she was hired as.

"Anywhere but here," Jericho responded. "This place is boring me to tears." He motioned towards the door, and spun in that direction. "I think I'll take another look at the photostudio," he said. "Surely there must be some people there by now."

Mickey found himself frowning. Should he follow Jericho or should he stay back? His brow furrowed as he contemplated the consequences that could fall into place if he did. After all, Mickey had already spoken far too much to the dark man. He very well could have given away what he and his parents had so carefully hidden within him. A disorder like that could very well have him kicked out of his career. Still, if he stayed in the room he would be stuck with a bunch of strangers and that fiery Delilah. Another confrontation was not something he needed at the moment. He sighed and began to follow Jericho towards the door, crushing his cigarette in a nearby ash tray before he went.

“I suppose it would be a good idea to meet the other models,” he explained as they trailed out of the bustle of the room. He didn’t want Jericho to think that he was following him around everywhere like a lost puppy. But since when did he care what anyone thought about him? Normally, the opinions of others could be discarded like a sullied rag. They were never very interesting opinions or correct by any means…so why did he care about what Jericho thought? Mickey’s brow knitted and his eyes narrowed to sharp slits as he tries to organize his thoughts into a manner that he could grasp, but it was impossible. He was met with some hazy mass, and a strange feeling burbling there in his stomach. He silently hoped it was his food digesting.

Nicolao ruppled up another paper, and tossed it into the bin, after countless hours of working nonstop, he was feeling parched. Hopefully, it would be a good time for lunch, because he was past ready, for a bit of sushi. Thankfully on the way here, he saw a place within walking distance.

He hated to drive his car, such a short bit, it seemed frivolous. As he zipped his portfolio, and let the woman out of his office, he locked the door tightly.

Down the stairs he went while others were busy working and doing there thing. Passing the multitude of office where idle chit chat was going on. Pushing the glass doors, open he headed off to lunch.

How much time has passed? she thought. It feels like this day has been going on for ages!

She looked around, checking to see if there was anyone in her office with her.

Jamie felt as though she had be rudely shoved out of that designer's office, so she earnestly headed towards the elevator. She wanted to file a report against that man, Nicholas. Or was it... Micholas? Michole? Michael? Mitchel, maybe?

"Get up here, you stupid elevator!" Jamie jabbed at the Up button continuously, however, it refused to ease its way up. It took its time, waiting at every possible stop it could. At last, she heard the soft Ping! that meant the elevator had, at last, arrived. "Finally." She stepped through the opening doors into the empty elevator. The doors refused to close, no matter how many times she jabbed the Close button, but at last, when it had tortured her quite enough, the elevator began to move back downwards.

Now here was a dilemma. Where on earth would she file a complaint against her designer? Would she want to see... Gavin Ruppetts? Or... Amber Radisson? Maybe, uh, Lexi Hansen? Jamie leaned over to inspect the small engraved lettering beneath Lexi's name. Attorney at Law. That sounded promising. But wait... Cecilia Queen, Manager! Well, she would certainly be able to file a complaint! Jamie pressed the pale 4 button and felt as the elevator suddenly shuddered to a stop. It appeared she had practically made it to the fourth floor before she even pressed the button.

"Fourth Floor," announced a quiet voice from inside the elevator. "The offices of Cecilia Queen and Amber Radisson. Bathrooms are down the hall and to the left if you are a lady, to the right if you are a gentleman."

Jamie strode across the hallway with purpose until she reached a windowed office, the nameplate of which read Cecilia Queen. She knocked a couple of times and waited.

Jayden sat in his office again, tryng to create something new.
He couldn't help it but Jericho kinda inspired him to his new creation;
Dark, mysterious but still kinda colorful and fashionable! "Brilliant he thought to his self and decided to show Cecillia later.

He still had to think about Jericho, he was sorry for just walking away at the little pizza party but well Jericho seemed to get along with that Micky guy quiet well!

"I need a coffee..." he said quietly and got up to get some, hoping he might find someone to talk to, since he didn't knew all of them who were working here by now...

Delilah decided to amuse herself, as well as everyone who was still in her office, by juggling several items.

One object-- an empty coffee cup-- smashed onto the ground.

"Rats!" Delilah groaned. She ran to her closet and found a broom and dustpan.

She swept up the broken bits, hoping that she didn't miss any. The last thing she needed was for someone to get a cut because of her clumsiness.

Delilah dropped the shattered pieces into the trashcan and put the cleaning items away.

Well, that was not one of my better moments, she thought.

As Jericho headed towards the door, he noted that Mickey didn't follow. He was just about to turn to look if he was coming, or if he'd found something more interesting to do, but right at that moment the boy appeared next to him.

"I suppose it would be a good idea to meet the other models”, he said.

"Mm", Jericho eloquently agreed, but then added as they started towards the elevators: "And even if there isn't anyone there, it'll be change for the better. The constant chatter in there was starting to give me a headache."

There seemed to be no middle ground with this company. Either the place you hung around was completely deserted, or the majority of the building had decided to all squeeze together there. To Jericho's nature, it was quite ironic, seeing as how the solitude had bored him, and the crowded office had made him feel agitated and impatient.

"Hopefully they haven't hired a bunch of airheads", he continued, well aware that alot of models (although far from all of them) tended to stop using their brains, simply because they thought they didn't need them anymore.

He glanced over at Mickey. Luckily, the boy seemed to be anything but an airhead. He had a maturity rarely seen in teenagers, and seemed to be unbelievably clever about the world around him. Combined with his exceptionally good looks, it was no wonder the agencies were fighting over him. Not to mention the girls.
His dark hair, his soft features... And those eyes. Their color was unique. But not only that. The expression in them was wise and penetrating, like they were hiding a vast knowledge about the person he was looking at, and even just people in general.

Jericho found himself almost staring at him, momentarily mesmerized by those eyes. With a slightly embarassed hum he cleared his throat and looked away, to the row of flashing numbers above the elevator, indicating what floor it was currently on.

"But", he added, trying to get back on track. "Seeing as how you seem to be the type I'll enjoy working with, I'd say the chances are looking good that the rest of them will be fairly intelligent."

Chloe didn't know where she was going...Speaking the receptionist had a non-stop conversation on the phone. So she walked over towards the directory picture. She noticed that the designer offices were upstairs and the photo studio were on the same level as her. Chloe desperately wanted to talk to somebody, before she took her first steps into her future. But who could she talk to? She hadn't really met anybody but a couple of people at the party and they were both designers.

She pulled down her dress a little bit and headed over towards the elevator. Chloe had decided upon going to talk to Jayden, before she walked into the photo studio for the first time. Her heart was racing the whole time she saw the elevator hit a floor closer to her. Butterflies were building up inside of her. It seemed as if she was a grade school girl again, with all the childish crushes. Chloe pulled her mirror out from her purse and examined her makeup, she didn't to arrive looking wretched. She applied some lipgloss and stuck everything back in her purse. Seconds later the loud ding telling her that the elevator was there sounded. She stepped inside and pushed up...She was ready to gaze into the eyes of Jayden, but the thoughts stopped just as the elevator did. The doors slid open revealing two guys standing there. One had to only have been a teen and the other was an older man...Chloe believed his name was Jericho, she saw him at the party talking to everybody, but somehow she didn't manage to get a few words in. They were both attractive, but nothing Chloe would attempt to date.

"No, of course not," Jamie scoffed, sitting down across from the woman who was probably Cecilia, if not her secretary. "I was here to check up on my summer collection, but I was greeted most-"

"Oh, I remember you, Jamie right?"

"Yes," Jamie fumed at having been interupted like this. "Glad that you remember me. Daddy did buy up a third of your stock, after all." She smirked.

"Even if I do remember you, you really need an appointment, but since you're here now, what's the problem?"

Aylen's stomach grumbled, she was hungry once again, and this time more hungry than before. She wanted to go out to Dunkin' Donuts and get a donut and a bagel, but she remembered a lady in a magazine talking about models and their weight. She said donuts, "Simply aren't good for your figure," as well as french fries and pizza and many other "fatty" foods. Aylen rolled her eyes at that comment, she would eat whatever she wanted, she didn't care, she would just run it off later.

That thought reminded her of something. She opened up her purse and took out a magazine (Elle) and began to open up and read. She hadn't gotten the chance to yet, so she brought it here to read just in case she had the extra time.

After searching through a while she realized she was still the only one in the photostudio. Where had everyone else gone to? She knew she wan't the only model here. Her stomach grumbled again, this time much louder than before. The magazine would have to wait, right know it was time to eat.

She walked over to the canteen and grabbed a couple snacks and some water, and brought them back over to the photostudio. She didn't know if she was allowed to eat in there, but no one would notice if she didn't leave any crumbs.

Muching on her snacks, she reopened her magazine, and began to read. Hopefully there would be more people coming in, she didn't want to be alone.

The corner of his lip upturned at the lyric on the mug, it seemed like her, no doubt, from what he knew of her. "And life, is a b**ch, and then you die."

He didn't expect her to find more shards, he thought he captured the last of them, but to his surprise, she sliced her finger quite nicely. "Seems like the cup is possessed, let me take a look." As he leaned up, and held onto her wrist looking over the cut, "So, you are a rock n' roll fan, what do you think of AC/DC?" Figuring the idle chatter would keep her thoughts on music, and not the protruding glass from her finger.

I am sure, you gave the elderly a fright singing about Dirty Deeds Done with Sheep. Unless you lived in the country, than maybe they could see your chagrin."

As he looked up from the hankie, he felt rather odd, she was surprised. But for what reason, did he seem like an utter as*? As if he had done something wrong, he pulled back from her hand, as it fell to her lap.

"I hope your finger feels better, and don't think life is so sh*tty, sometimes, it can surprise you," almost as quickly as he said it, he wished he didn't, and hit the door jam.

Great conversation skills you have, she scolded herself. Way to impress people-- tell them about the songs you misheard. You just scared the poor guy away. Between my clumsiness and my stupidity, I bet he's getting a great laugh.

She unwrapped the handkerchief to get a good look at her finger. No doubt about it, that was one nasty cut. She shuddered slightly and bound the injured finger up tightly, hoping she wouldn't be expected to do any typing anytime soon.

But... she thought to herself, he seemed almost... uncertain. As if...

Delilah shook her head. Don't be silly, she thought to herself. You've been reading too many trashy novels again.

She looked down at at handkerchief. I'll have to get that cleaned before I return it to him, she thought. I don't think he'd be very happy about having to deal with any blood-stained items.

Jamie felt a little too energized to take the elevator, and as disgusting as it sounded, made her way to the stairs. Well, he certainly needed a cut, but he would probably find it offensive...

A solid gold fountain pen? Well, obviously he did a lot of writing and drawing and such. And it's not like Jamie would really need it! She tried the door handle, and to her relief, it was open. Grabbing a post-it note, Jamie quickly scribbled a note reading, 'Heyo, Nicolao! I know we got out on the wrong foot, but I was thinking we could totally start over! Rielle surveyed the newly set up room with a relaxed sigh. Finally, her own space. Her own space where she could decide who to let in, who to force out, who could sit, who could stand. It all sounded so foolish and petty to her when she thought of it in such simple terms, but in reality, it truly was a treat.

Glancing at the clock on the wall, Rielle realized that it was finally time to go home. After having set her things up, dealing with her immediate filing, making the necessary calls... she was exhausted. It was only her first day, and she was already lagging.

"I need coffee..." she groaned, exiting her office and carefully locking the door behind her.

Her pale eyes surveyed the office and the number of people who were still there, working and packing up. As a young man brushed past her, she gently tapped his arm to get his attention. He glanced up at her in confusion.

"Uhm, hello. Could you direct me to the lounge?"

Understanding dawning upon his features, he pointed a slender finger in the direction of the small room and she offered him a grateful smile. She chugged the vodka down. "Y'know," she said to the bartender, "you should ask my friend out. She's really nice, and, unless you're totally blind, you'll see that she's pretty cute."

She swallowed the sake. "Ah, feeling better already!" she remarked. She popped a couple of anti-hangover tablets into her mouth.

"Come on, Chels," she said to Chelsea, "Drink! Bottoms up!"

She sat at her desk, stretched, and said with a smile, "Life is good."

"Hi, I'm Deliliah Stanton. I'm one of the secretaries. I'm sorry for not being more cheerful, but this has kind of been a rough day for me. We were about to go out for a bit."

"We've met before. Oh, and could I come with you? I been bored to death." Aylen picked up her magazine and snacks and put them in her purse, except for the cheese its. She loved them.

"Could you both excuse me for a moment. I need to run to the washrooms for a moment," Chelsea said. She nodded in return. As quickly as she left, she cam back in.

"I'm fine, just needed to freshen up." "Are you okay?" Delilah asked, putting a hand on her forehead. "No fever... are you feeling okay [B]Chels?"

"Me? Oh yes, I'm fine. Just wanted to freshen up for a moment. Well since Cilla isn't here, do you want to go across to the bar?"

"To the bar! Full speed ahead. Just a warning I'm a really goofy drunk!" And with that they took of down to the bar.

Cecilia was bored once again and decieded to go do something. She stood up walked out of the room and closed the door behind her. She walked over to the elevators and stood inside one. She looked at the numbers and decieded to go to the first floor. She pressed the button and the elevators closed. The elevators did nothing for a moment and then moved downwards. Having spent a while down in the photostudio, meeting some of the other models, Jericho soon found himself bored once again. Mickey had disappeared off to lord knows where, and the other models were busy talking to eachother about god knows what. Jericho wasn't really paying attention. Instead he found himself wandering the corridors again. It was getting late in the afternoon, and people had started dropping out one after another, to go home after their first day at work.
Still, as Jericho once again strolled around on the designer's floor, he noticed that Jayden's door was still open. Maybe he was still there? Jericho hadn't gotten to talk to him much, as they had quickly been seperated at the pizza party earlier. Though during the few minutes they'd talked while on the way to Delilah's office, Jericho had come to the conclusion that he liked Jayden. The guy was nice and easy to talk to, and he was an amazing designer. Jericho had seen some of his work, and it had been right up his ally. Maybe a bit brightly colored at times, but the designs themselves weren't bad. Not bad at all.

Approaching Jayden's office, Jericho suddenly found himself standing face to face with the designer, once again. Much like their previous meeting, Jayden was on his way out the door, and nearly bumped into Jericho in the process.

"Is this the part where I say 'We have to stop meeting like this'"? Jericho said, an amused twinkle in his eyes.

Delilah danced around as she cleaned her office. She had one of her rock CDs playing so that she wouldn't have to deal with the silence. She'd decided to tidy things up because, well, let's face it, no one likes greasy paper plates and empty soda cans lying around their workspace.

As she tossed the trash into her wastebasket, she glared at the broken shards of coffeecup. Delilah gave the broken cup the finger and said, "This is what I think of you cutting me, you evil china monster!"

She swept the floor and dropped the dust and dirt into the wastebasket and then tossed the dustpan aside.

Delilah looked around her office. "There, nice and clean. I do wonder when my boss will show up-- it must be some awesome vacation he's on!"

Well, he kinda liked him.
Something about him fascinated Jayden...

"Is this the part where I say 'We have to stop meeting like this?"

Jericho smirked. He couldn't blame him. The company in there hadn't exactly been interesting. Apart from the conversation with Mickey, and Delilah's little outburst, it had been rather boring actually. But he supposed Delilah was at least worth an "A" for effort. She'd probably done her best, even if she hadn't really thought it through first.

"But I noticed that there was something going on and uhm since you said 'not really' I guess you were involved?" Jayden continued, looking at Jericho.

Another smirk darted across Jericho's lips, as he thought about what had happened.

"Let me put it this way...", he started. "I ended up a... not-so-innocent by-stander, as one of those secretary types went off on Mickey. But that was about it."

He shrugged, and looked Jayden up and down, as if trying to decide something. Actually, he was trying to make out if Jayden was about to leave to go home, or if he was heading someplace else. Though there weren't many clues in his appearance, and so Jericho found himself asking;

"So, where are you off to?"

For several minutes, Delilah's thoughts ran in this fashion, always coming to the same ideas.

Delilah groaned softly and muttered, "This is why I drink-- to stop myself from thinking so much. Why am I worried? The guy probably has no interest in me..."

Here, she hesitated.

"But... why do I feel so sad about the idea of him not being interested...?"

(( sorry if this post disagrees with anyone’s but I haven't had a chance to read all the posts as I've only just got back from vacation. I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me a short explanation of what's happened so far!!! ))

Gavin rested his elbows on the large mahogany desk that took up the majority of the space in his office, his head slumped forwards and his usually immaculate coiffed blonde hair was ruffled and out of place. He gently massaged his temples with one hand, trying to concentrate on doing the job he was supposed to, and not the splitting headache that was tearing him apart. Where was his secretary Amber with his low fat mocha latte he needed after a hard night on the town; and boy had last night been a hard night. Gavin couldn’t tell you why he had such an odd split personality in the office and out of it, nor could the smart mouthed man last night who was now in hospital with concussion: another example of a thing office Gavin would never do. Now he just had to concentrate on keeping his job, and keeping up the “act” that was his dual personality without his co-workers finding out, plus keep the side splitting hangover he had from preventing his sweet natured side disappearing.

Gavin glanced out of the small window on the adjacent wall of his office that lead to the rest of the workplace and saw his co-workers busying themselves with their daily routines, the office running like clockwork as usual. The pretty little secretary Delilah that Gavin made a habit of flirting with was sitting at her own desk, seeming absorbed in her own thoughts and there seemed to an abundance of the usual hot looking models sauntering through. For now Gavin just had to stay seated, maybe Amber would grace his office soon with a nice steaming coffee and take him away from his messed up thoughts; and hell, she was a nice piece of eye candy!

"Uh..." she stammered, seeing his questioning look. "Hello, sir. I see that you're back from vacation. I trust that it was enjoyable?"

She laughed nervously and waited for a response.

Gavin only just managed to look up as Delilah poked her head around the door to his office. Without thinking his flirtatious ravenous side checked her out, a smile mischeviously gracing his lips as he saw her short skirt and heels. However, seeing her hesitant look he snapped back to his "normal" self, reminding himself to kick his otherhalf later (OOC: that was an odd sentence!) Instead, a warm approachable smile replaced the first one and Gavin attempted to make an already nervous Delilah more comfortable.

"I... um... well, I guess that's it. Is there anything you need?" Delilah asked, shuffling backwards out of his office.

'A quickie in the broom closet would be nice' his bad side said inside his head and Gavin fought to prevent it from the words coming out. Anymore and his co-workers would think he was insane. He wasn't, honestly, just a youngster with a lot of responsibilty in a big city with a big job. Remembering where he was and the anxious secretary in the doorway he snapped back to reality.

"A hot coffee would be great," Gavin sighed eventually, smiling kindly at Delilah

She hurried out of the office and returned several seconds later, carrying a mug full of hot coffee, as well as several packets of cream and sugar.

"Will you be needing anything else?" she asked.

She stared at him. I bet he's thinking all kinds of dirty things about me, she thought.

In the time she had been employed at Queen's Clothes, Delilah had just about forgotten what it was like to have men like this checking her out. She wasn't sure if she liked it or not. Mentally, she compared how Gavin and Nicolao looked at her.

Looks like things are going to get really crazy now, she thought.

11th Aug 2007, 05:20 PM
Gavin took the boiling mug of coffee out of Delilah's hands and lifted it to his lips, releasing a sigh of tiredness and relaxation. With his nights getting wilder and wilder he craved for this peaceful time in the morning where he could be himself, the sweet kind guy he desperately wanted to be; as long as he had a hot cup of coffee in his hand he was happy.

"Will you be needing anything else?" Delilah asked, clasping her hands smartly behind her back.

Gavin glanced up from his coffee in surprise, almost forgetting she was still there, but was pleased at the same time. The relationship he had with his pretty and flirtatious secretary was an odd one, clearly overrun by his sinister side which prayed on pretty girls. But Gavin, for once, took over himself and smiled again as Delilah started at him with a confused frown on her face.

"Yeah that's great thanks," Gavin replied, giving her a sincere smile and a curt nod, "is there anything I can do for you?"

He was about to let Delilah run out of his office, and from the look on her face that's what she seemed desperate to do, but he paused and held up one finger to ask her to wait. Meanwhile he rumaged quickly through his large black bag until he grasped a blue box with a gold shimmering necklace inside.

"Didn't think I would forget bring my favorite secretary a present back from my vacation," Gavin joked, trying to supress his headache and just smile at the girl, hopefully so she'd see his sincere motives and genuine friendliness.

He slid the box across the table with a smile, and went back to his coffee

Delilah eyed the box suspiciously, as though expecting a snake to pop out at any moment, then looked over at Gavin, who sipped his coffee and occasionally looked over at her.

Hesitantly, she picked up the box and opened it. When she saw the necklace, she let out a loud gasp.

"Mr. Ruppetts... sir... you... you really didn't have to..." she stammered. She lifted the necklace out of the box and looked closely at it, seeing how it shined. "It looks really expensive... I don't know if I can accept it."

Gavin laughed gently, his temples still causing him grief at every movement. After a moment of Delilah stammering and gasping he stood up and walked around the desk to stand beside her.

"I want you to have it! It's the least I can do for being such an insane jerk all the time! I really don't know how you put up with me!" Gavin smiled as he spoke and patted his secretary gently on the shoulder.

"When you make as much as I do you need someone to spend it all on!" he replied.

After giving her another warm smile he headed back to his chair and buried his face in his coffee again.

"Oh and call me Gavin!"

She struggled with the tiny clasp of the necklace for a few seconds (Who makes these stupid things so hard to undo? she thought), got it open, and carefully put the necklace around her neck, releasing the clasp.

After a moment of hesitation, she laughed to herself and gave him a quick hug, and then hurried out of his office and into her own, her face still flushed.

Chinsa sensed an annoyance in the womans voice so she decided to leave without saying anything. She didn't know what type of impression she had left on Chelsea but she hoped it was a good one.

After leaving Chelsea's office she roamed her way down the halls she found herself at an office where a young man sat rubbing his forhead as to suggest he had a head-ache."Hello,it seems as if you have a headache may I offer you some aspirin".She said in a soft tone. She hoped he wouldn't think of her as a strange woman who offered aspirin to strangers, but he seemed as if he was in a lot of discomfort.

Amber chuckled at Delilah's reply and fired one right back to her:

Hey Delilah,

Really? Well I suppose all good things must come to an end :P Desk dancing was funny though!

Lucky you, you got a good looking guy for a boss. Maybe I should come down there and take a look!

Gavin downed the rest of his black coffee and sat back in his chair, his arms rested casually behind his head. Man he could not stand this pain in his forehead, even worse than the usual monday morning hangovers he had. Two weeks of vacation followed by a weekend of non-stop mad partying was certainly taking toll as he leant forward and began massaging his forehead again. A soft female voice made him glance up again

"Hello, it seems as if you have a headache may I offer you some aspirin" a woman asked, side stepping into his office.

Gavin smiled at the girl, who he presumed was a model.

"Yeah actually that'd be great, the secretaries here aint so good at looking after you," he replied, laughing under his breath, "I'm Gavin Ruppetts by the way."

Delilah read Amber's response. At that moment, she had a selfish feeling, like a young child who didn't want to share her toys. They'd have plenty of time with Gavin later on. But she didn't feel like letting too many people get to know him just yet.

Sorry, Amber, Delilah typed, But he's really busy. His work has really piled up while he was on vacation. Maybe later, eh?

Delilah pressed "send" and smiled to herself a little. Sorry, Amber, but you'll have to wait a while to meet him. I don't have to share everything with you, she thought.

Amber frowned slightly as she typed her reply.

No biggie, I figured he'd probably be busy. I mean, Miss Queen has piles of work on her desk and she's here all the time. I can't imagine how bad your boss's desk must be! Poor guy, guess it's a good thing he got such a nice long vacation. Well, we'll have to have our lunch together so you can tell me all about him!

Delilah read the response. She thought a moment, and then typed,

Maybe. I've got some catching up of my own to do, after all that goofing off. So, we'll see about that lunch. I have some work to do right now, so we'll get in touch later.

Delilah pressed "send." Then, she smiled softly to herself, pulled a box of chocolates out from a drawer in her desk, and snacked on them while she checked the rest of her e-mails.

Gavin smiled at the model at his doorway but moved past her, unwilling to let the bad side of him out just yet. It was only early in the morning and the office definately didn't want a stressed out hungover guy making out with a gorgeous model at this time in the day.

"I'll take the aspirin to-go," he said laughing again as he side stepped past her, "but make sure you come back later when I'm not so...busy."

As Gavin made his way down the corridor he glanced over his shoulder and smiled at Chinsa before reminding himself to be good. He took off his jacket, undid the top button of his shirt and loosened his chunky blue tie so he could cool down. He hated looking like a businessman, it gave him far too much responsibility! You're the good guy he told himself as he entered Delilah's office and saw her snacking on a box of chocolates.

"Caught you!" Gavin joked, sitting down on the edge of her desk and dropped his jacket in her lap.

"Can you hang this up for me?" he requested giving her a warm smile again, "so...I guess you'd better give me the huge pile of work I need to do now."

Delilah giggled and threw the jacket back at Gavin.

"Gavin," she said, smirking a little, "I'm afraid you've forgotten the difference between a secretary and a maid. The coat rack is right over there, unless you've gone blind over vacation. And as for the work..."

She stood up and opened a file cabinet and pulled out stacks of files and papers.

"Well... you see how far behind you are. So, better get cracking, eh?" she said with a wink. "If you want, I'll help you out with some of it."

Gavin smirked back at Delilah, she seemed such a different person from the shy anxious startled rabbit she was in his office.

"Whatever happened to 'yes sir Mr Ruppetts'!" he laughed picking up his jacket and slinging it on the coat rack.

He perched himself back on her desk while Delilah began pulling out masses of paperwork and stacking them carefully on the floor. As the pile became drastically bigger, Gavin snuck two chocolates from her box and played with them in his hands, throwing them up in the air.

"Are these for me?" he joked, cramming one chocolate in his mouth and dropped the other one back in the box, "hey, where's your necklace?"

"Let me put it this way...I ended up a... not-so-innocent by-stander, as one of those secretary types went off on Mickey. But that was about it."

“Okay..” Jayden said. “Well I noticed that it had something to do with Mickey but nothing more!”.

He looked at Jericho again, who seemed to kinda scan him from head to toe. "So, where are you off to?" Jericho asked him and Jayden yawned. “Well I was about to get some fresh air and I think I will leave soon but well since you’re here…”, he started and went back to his office again to get the outfit sketch he did earlier. It was somewhat inspired by Jericho so he thought it would be nice to show him.
“Well you actually uhm inspired me to do this” he said and handed it over to Jericho. “It’s kinda dark but I wanted to do something different and well it fit’s you I guess, so what do you think?”.

Delilah playfully slapped Gavin's arm. "Ask first, Mr. Greedy Pants," she jokingly scolded. "I would have let you have some if you'd asked. And by the way, those are food, not toys. Either eat them or leave them alone. Don't throw them around, because I'll have to pick them up. My God, I sound like my mother."

Then, in response to the other comment, she lifted the necklace out of her blouse. "I don't want people to think I'm the kind of secretary who's... y'know... for sale. It's bad enough some people assume that secretaries are, but... well, you know how it is."

She put the necklace away and put the box of chocolates on top of a stack of papers and files. "Come on, boss. Let's get this paperwork out of the way so you can relax, eh?"

Gavin's smile suddenly became serious and he looked Delilah in the eye, "You know I'm not trying to well...'buy' you," he paused and chuckled a bit, unsure of what to say or do, he just wanted to make her feel comfortable, certainly more comfortable than he was feeling.

"Anyway," he said, gently pushing the stack of papers with his foot so they almost fell over, “do I have to do work?” he complained jokingly. Gavin picked up the top sheet of paper and read it quickly, reluctant to get back into his regular schedule. As Delilah began rooting through the pile of paper Gavin began clicking on her computer.

“Not too bad looking am I?” he quoted laughing, reading an email he opened, “and you dance on the desks!”

"Yes, you have to work. Come on, you're my boss; I shouldn't have to tell you to do your work," Delilah said. In her best mom voice, she said, "If you don't do all your work, you won't get any dessert and you'll have to go to bed early."

She turned to pull out some more files out.

“Not too bad looking am I?” Gavin quoted laughing, reading an email he opened, “and you dance on the desks!”

Delilah let out a loud squeal of embarrassment. She dropped the files and tried to cover up the screen.

"Who told you that you could look at that?" she cried out, her face flushing. "And yes, I do dance on desks when I'm bored. And now that makes someone else who is going to give me crap about that!"

"Well hello, Gavin. How was the vacation?" she said warmly and gave a greet-nod to Delilah.
"I hope you had fun. And really, be happy you missed the first weeks. The elevators didn't work and the coffee machines were too late."

Gavin struggled as Delilah held him back from the computer, covering the screen with her hands. He took a step back and started laughing again, finally his headache easing and the stress building in his neck was relaxing.

“I’m sorry,” he joked, almost crying with laughter at the look on his secretary’s face, “and don’t worry I’m not going to give you grief about dancing on the desks; just make sure you call me to join in next time you do it!”

Gavin’s laughter faded to a smile and playfully smacked Delilah on the shoulder and moved his head close to her ear, “but you know I am good looking.”

Just then their boss Cecilia walked into the office with a smile on her face.

“Morning Cecilia," Gavin mused, "and yes thanks my vacation was just what I needed! My secretary here is just helping me to catch up with my work." He glanced over Cecilia's shoulder at Delilah and winked, "So how has your day been?”

When Cecilia walked in, Delilah hurried away quickly and stood behind Cecilia. After a few seconds, she began making the goofiest, most ridiculous faces she could manage, in an attempt to make Gavin crack up and lose his cool in front of their boss.

She caught a slight smirk on his face a few times and knew that as soon as Cecilia left, he would tease her about the crazy faces she was making. Fine with me, Delilah thought.

Gavin stopped halfway down the corridor and looked at Delilah and what she just said.

"I think we both know what you've done Miss Stanton," Gavin replied in his sternest voice possible, his face stoney like thunder. Although, of course he wasn't at all angry with Delilah, it wouldn't hurt her thinking he was. "I could have lost my job just then. And now my boss thinks I'm messing around with my secretary!"

He paused to take in her face and then couldn't hold it in any longer, and burst out laughing, tears dripping from his eyes. Gavin felt a sharp nudge in the stomach from where she'd clearly punched him.

She lightly poked Gavin on his arm and said, with a slight snicker and a very wicked smile, "Want to really mess with her?" She reached into her pocket and pulled out a tube of lipstick. "Smear some of this on your face and mess up your hair. She'll have gossip material for weeks. Look at it this way, you'll be famous before most of the people here have even seen you!"

Delilah snickered to herself and added, "Yes, I am rather messed-up in the head, in case you were wondering that. Blame it on the years of hard partying."

She tossed the lipstick to Gavin and laughed.

Gavin caught the tube as Delilah threw it to him and gripped it in his left hand, thinking about what she'd just said, and the reaction he'd get from his boss. Maybe it was pushing it a bit far, or maybe it wasn't far enough. He carefully unscrewed the lid of the lipstick and rolled the red stick out of it's container.

"I've got a better idea," he said, placing one hand on Delilah's shoulder and he smeared the lipstick across her lips. Gavin laughed briefly under his breath and bent down and kissed her gently on the lips.

"Go get on with your job," he said quickly having released her and ran off towards the restroom.

Did that really just happen? she asked herself. She brushed a fingertip over her lips. It came back smeared with lipstick that had not been there when she'd left for work that morning. Yep, it wasn't a figment of my imagination.

My God... she thought. What have I gotten myself into?

Delilah walked back to her office, in a complete daze, and sat down at her desk, unsure of what to do, think, or say. She lowered her head to her desk and muttered, a slight smirk on her face, "This was not in the job description when I applied. Besides, Delilah was probably rinsing her mouth out right that second and would be quitting tomorrow. Just as all these thoughts were wafting round his mind, Cecilia walked in.

There was a note pinned to the door of his office when he arrived and tried to push it open, struggling under the paperwork he needed to finish. Setting the papers down he picked up the note and sighed heavily, turning to watch Delilah as she entered the room.

Shuffling through he realised most of it were receipts and invoices: for what he had no idea and, even though he'd worked at Queen's Clothes for years now, he still had no idea what to do. Instead he lifted the coffee to his mouth and drained it heavily. It was going to be a long lonely night.

"Thanks for the coffee," Gavin mumbled, giving Delilah a gentle smile, "you don't have to do this if you don't want. I'm sure there are plenty of phones to be answered to keep you busy." He smiled again to show he was joking, "but really you don't have to help."

Delilah took a sip of her coffee and responded with a cheeky grin, "By the way, red lipstick really suits you."

"And as for your fascinating and rather tempting question," she added, playfully ruffling his hair, "you can have as much as you want-- after you finish up all this paperwork. You know how it goes-- work hard, play hard. You can't have dessert until after you finish the main meal, you know."

She gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "Until you get your butt into gear and do your job, this is all you're getting. Is that enough initiative for you?"

Spying the gold chain, Gavin picked up the necklace around Delilah's neck and titled it into the dimming sunlight, seeing his own reflection in it.

When he widened his eyes, she felt herself blush. "Okay, okay... you don't have to go mega-cutie on me... I'll get you some coffee and muffins."

She petted the top of his head, like a puppy. "Don't go anywhere," she said with a grin.

"Other than those three models I made out with while you were away, yea I guess I behaved myself," Gavin teased, taking the coffee and taking a long sip, "actually I've got a lot done," he signalled the box of chocolates on the desk and winked, "and a lot eaten!"

He smiled, looking out through his eyelashes at Delilah as his head was bent and began shuffling through more of the papers, "I think if you help we may be done soon," he paused and pointed to the shredder which was stuffed with shards of paper, "I've gotten rid of a lot of it."

As the computer turned on, he checked his messages and sent a quick email to Cecilia informing her that he was working hard and getting his work caught up on; and asked when the next meeting was. Closing his emails he turned and looked back at Delilah who was watching him
