"oh...yes,I am." she said,bashfully.
Most people wouldn't approach Linda the same day school started. People considered her unapproachable back in her old school,so she was sort of an outcast. It made her feel better about her social status,though,when people talked to her.

"I was new a few months ago,"Daphne replied "My name is Daphne, and yours?" She was really hoping to get to know somebody well. Her parents goal for this term was to get someone well. She laughed at herself, she was always so childish even through her teen years she had a great relationship with her friends.

Gabriela stepped into the school feeling awkward. Luckily, it seemed to look like classes were going, so she stepped down the hall towards the main office.
The divorce was cold and harsh - her feelings weren't even counted. Even though she suggested so many things, it just wouldn't work anymore. The house was sold, her items were packed and soon she and her mother moved to a completely new neighbourhood.
Fortunately her mother came from a long long generation of rich relatives, so money was no matter, but because of the divorce, she and her father were forced to share, half each. Gabriela got nothing, but that didn't matter. Money couldn't do the world a favour.

The main office was plain and cold, and she took a long time finding it. Now, if the creators of the stupid building had decided to not put the office behind the stairs, it would've been a lot easier..

Since she had already taken most of her final exams at her previous school, she didn't have to worry about them. She still have to take on in Chemistry and English, her best subjects. Her low self esteem and raised considerably as she was handed the sheet of paper, whom the secretary indicated as her schedule.

The final bell rang and Gabby headed off, lost in the crowd of people, or rampage, as she would call it.

Luckily the rampage ended sooner than it started, and what seemed like a couple walked over to her and started talking.

Gabby smiled at Mario, then at Sasha. They were a cute couple, and looked very friendly. She was glad the first day here at this school started out positive.

"I'm Gabriela. You can call me Gabby or something, though." she replied, feeling a lot better than before. "Do you guys know where English 11 is?"

"I'm not very good, but I want to take art next year.

Daphne watched Linda draw.
She still thought Linda was a pretty good drawer.

"Haha Mario. Fine I'll leave it a surprise. I guess that gives me another reason to shopp besides the dance." she smiled. She hadnt a clue in her mind what to get him, but she knew she would figure it out once they got there.
"Yea I got my schedule. I got everything I wanted too."

Before she could say anything Mario grabbed her and brought her to the girl.

" Hi I'm Mario and this is my lovely girlfriend Sasha and what's your name, me and Sasha decided to come and help you out since you are a newby"

"Hi" She stold the girl with a friendly and warm smile.

"I'm Gabriela. You can call me Gabby or something, though. Do you guys know where English 11 is?"

"Yea that is in the 11th grade hall. Come I'll show you."

Gabby followed Sasha down many, many clean halls and passed various doors, blue or red lockers and bright flyers posted on bulliten boards. She swore she had also passed more flights of staircases - how was she ever going to make it around on her own?

Even though the bell had rung people in groups or alone roamed the halls, entering and exiting through classroom doors. Teachers were short or tall, mostly brunette and she had recognized a teacher that was left handed. That, surely was a first.

They walked together to her class. She could tell Gabby was a little overwelmedd by the school.

"Dont worry. You will figure it all out sooner or later. Here is your class. So where do you live?"

"Umm... I think it's called the Ramblewood Apartment Complex, or something like that. I've only been there once, and I haven't even seen the inside of me and my mother's own apartment yet!" Gabby replied, feeling sheepish and embarassed. "Where do you live?"

Sasha was so excited. A huge smile spread across her lips.
"I live there too. Yall must be the new people that just move in. I live there with my dad! I cant believe this! Hey maybe we can go shopping this afternoon. Hey have this dance coming up and I want a new outfit. Plus Marios birthday is in a few days. I need to get him something. So what do you think?"

"See you after class!" she called out. "Oh, well, Mario, I'm probably late, so I'll see you after too, okay?" she opened the door and entered the classroom, bracing herself for what was prepared.

Gabby entered English 11 nervous but excited. Since exams were now officially over, she'd doubt there'd be anymore work. She and her mom moved at an awfully terrible time of the year, but hey - at least she made some friends. And on her first day of school, too!

The teacher still hadn't shown up yet, and a group of guys in the corner started throwing paper airplanes at the chalkboard. A clique of preppy looking girls continued to make dramatic conversation using their hair, hands and "OHMYGOSH NO WAY!"

Gabby pulled her cellphone out of her backpack and quickly texted her best friend from home, Brooklynn Adams.

Yo. Class just started, the school isn't half bad. I met a few people, too. They're really nice here, so far... - Gabs

The door slammed quietly and her head bolted up, watching the teacher, who was a woman walk towards her desk quietly. She set her notebook down and with a clear, sharp voice, she began talking about the upcoming events.

Lewis stepped out of the main hall. He knew that he'd done terribly in all his finals. He didn't care. Well, now he thought back, the English Literature one had been easier than he expected. He might have actually got an A, which he couldn't help be a little proud of. He looked ahead, and saw Mario almost strutting toward his class.
"Hey!" Lewis called. "You wanna stop walking like you got a stick up your ***? You might embarress your girlfriend more than she already is to be seen with you."
They had never got on.

Lauren walked down the corridor after class, and who did she see? The guy who had insulted her the very first time he saw her.
"For God's sake kid, do you insult someone because that's the way you are? Or so you'll look better than them? Because you don't, really, you look like a retard. And don't talk about him having a stick up his a**, I heard you take out the one you have up yours and polish daily!"

He shook his head, glared at Mario and walked on. He didn't attempt to make eye contact with Lauren as he walked by her.
As he turned the corner, he slowed down and stood by a group of lockers. He felt bad. Why did that girl always make him feel annoyed with himself? He kicked the locker out of frustration

Sasha was in her class in her sitting, doing nothing really. She heard a few people rayling about. She got up from her desk and went to the teacher.
"May use to restroom please?"
The teacher looked at her and frowned. "You were late to class. You didnt go then?"
"No mam."
"Alright, because I can trust you will be right back. Make it quick."
Sasha smiled and left the class in a hurry. She rounded a corner and bumped straight into someone.
"Oh I'm soo...." She saw it was Lewis. "Sorry. I didnt mean to bump into you."

Gabby watched the teacher dully explain about the assignment she had given them earlier in the week, a composition about spring.
Okay, so maybe the morning was great, but class, was definetely not. Watching the second hand of the clock tick made her feel like school had become something like a prison. "Gabriela,"

She sat up straight in her seat and tried to look attentive. "Yeah?"

"Gabriela," the teacher repeated. "Since you're not part of this assignment, would you go down to the copy machine in the school office to copy these?" she asked, holding out a few sheets of flyers for the dance.

"I guess so," she said, taking them and shoving them carefully in her backpack. With her left hand, she exited the door and shut it carefully.

She really, couldn't wait until lunch. Literally.

Linda grew frustrated-she wasn't able to draw at all in class because the teacher kept giving out so much work. She was used to being able to draw right after she finished work,but it seems this was not the class to do that. Her stomach growled. Apparently she did not have a good breakfast,and she still had a few more classes to get to before lunch. She let out a deep sigh. She wondered if she had to sit alone this year in the cafeteria or not. Daphne was really nice to her...

Sasha took out all her books and her pencil getting ready. She leaned forward and stated tapping her pencil on her desk, deep in thought of this afernoons shopping trip with Gabby.

Cale was already at school. For once he had decided to be early, normaly he was late. Besides, he hadn't been much in school since his first day and thought that it'd be a good idea to show up every now and then.

Linda watched as other people began to enter the classroom. She was sitting in the back...now she wont have to worry about people unexpectedly throwing paper balls at her from behind. She put her sketchbook way. She sighed and rolled her eyes. She looked at the teacher,then at her desk. She played with her long,brown braids and hummed. The other girls looked way better dressed. Another year where I'm the fashion victim, she thought miserably.

Jeremy entered the school doors,thinking he was late,but was glad that he was glad when he found that he was kind of early.He slowed down and looked around the halls,as the students milled around and talked and laughed.Glancing at his schedule,he saw that he had English, and headed to class.When he got there,he looked around at the other students sitting and getting ready for class,he stepped in a little nervous shaked it off and headed to a seat in the middle and sat down confidently.

his eyes at the thought, then he decided that he
wanted to ask this Lewis kid to chill out a bit, even though he knew that he would listen, but he knew he was in the hall, so Mario raised his hand and asked for a pass to go to the restroom, she
told him to hurry and be back quickly, Mario got up
from his seat and went into the hall, he saw Lewis posted
up on the hall and went up to him and said "Ey man
why are you so much trouble, why can't you just
chill and act like the rest of us do during the day,
I know school aint the best but they only ask for a
few hour out of your time to make sure that YOU
have a future, but what you do after school is not
my business or the school's, but while your here
just cool it man.....seriously!" said Mario.

"You? A haircut?" Gabby asked, interested. "Yeah, well, I called my mom earlier and she said I had to be back before six. When does school end anyway?"

"Yes a hair cut. I already have a style picked out. I hope everyone likes it. I wanted something new. Even though I am worried Mario wont like it." She planned on going to Marios after they were done shopping to show him the hair cut.
"Umm school is out at 1:00, so we have plenty of time to shop. Since we live so close together, it wont be a problem. My dad doesnt get home until late from work. My brother doesnt even care when I come and go."

Cale couldn't sleep anymore now. It was too much noise and talking in the room. He pulled himself up to a normal sitting position on the chair and glanced around him. He had hardly spoken to anyone here yet. He had been pretty anti-social lately.

Right now he wanted to tell everyone in the room to shut up so that he could sleep, but he didn't, it would be rude. So instead he just looked at the front, bored out of his skull.

Linda was tempted to sing out loud but then she'd make a total freak of herself. She wondered if there ever had been a talent show in the school.
I bet I'd totally win,she thought to herself.
She loved to sing,it was her passion,even more than drawing.
She sang softly to herself,hoping it was soft enough for nobody to hear. She would stop singing when people stopped talking,then continued when the talking started up again.
I hope this year is gonna be great and boys are mature enough not to pull on my braids,she thought. She overheard two girls talk about a haircut. Linda could never imagine herself with shorter hair...she loved her long wavy hair,even though fashion was never her thing. After all,she couldn't buy cute accesories often, she wasn't the wealthiest person.

As usual, Linda pulled out her sketchbook and drew. Not only did it keep her entertained,it made her feel better. She wondered that,if she were to talk to everyone else,she'd make a ridicule of herself. Why was she so insecure,anyways?Maybe she needs psychological help. She shook her head.
Lunch was not that good...
She doodled,waiting for the right spark to come so she'd know what to draw Daphne as her present.
I really need to meet more people,Linda thought.So far Daphne is my only friend,and she seems like a good one...
She looked at the other guys from her English class.
"Ay caramba..."she said to herself. Get over yourself,Linda!

Mario came back to the table with the girl, Lauren. She smiled up at the girl as Mario introduced them.

Linda rolled her eyes.She HATED being in class,free time or not.Why?She really had nothing to do but draw. She finished Daphne's gift,but she didn't want to show it to her yet.

Lauren sat at the back of class, iPod on, singing silently. She looked at everyone in the class. Her newly cut hair barely touched her shoulders. Dyed black with a purple fringe, she had also gotten a snakebite. She now had piercings at the edge of her lips, and looked around for someone to talk to. In the meantime, she sang.

Linda thought about the end of the year party. Or Daphne's party.
Will they come?she wondered.Will they care? She had not really talked to anyone even if the opportunity was right in front of her. She could of talked with people at the table but she's always quiet. She really couldn't think of anything interesting to say,like everyone else. Her mother always nagged her about how being this quiet will never get her a boyfriend. Linda didn't really care.
Maybe someday...she thought.I just hope it's soon.
She looked at the other girl in the back of the class,but then laid her head down on the desk again. She hummed softly to herself.

Daphne doodled on her notebook and then stared at the ceiling. Linda had playfully told her to stay away when she was working on her present. Daphne heard a soft singing Did someone turn on the radio? No it's closed. she thought. She scanned the room and found the culprit, and approached her.

Gabby sat there, trying to find moments where she could text and moments when she'd have to hide her cellphone. Oh good god. Three more days.
She wondered about the school party. Was it more of a prom party or a dance party?

She quickly texted a "hi" to Brooklynn and shoved her cell into her pocket clumsily. Everyone was so preoccupied, unlike her. She wished she had brought her MP3. She almost forgot it was the end of the year.

Quietly doodling away, Gabby watched the clock tick.

Cale walked into class, over fifteen minutes too late. It wasn't unusal for him to be late, or to show up at all. He looked around the room and debated with himself of where to sit. Linda recognized the voice. She sat up and looked at Cale.
"Oh,hi...Cale."she smiled a little. Stupid stomachaches..."How's it going?"she asked.
She was perfectly fine with people she had allready met. Meeting people for the first time was not her forte though.

"I wouldn't exactly call it interesting if I was anxious to go home allready-not like home is better than school anyways..."she replied,fiddling with the zipper on her book bag."So...I'd say as dead as rocks." She pulled her hair back in a ponytail.

Cale leaned backwards a bit on his chair and put his hands behind his head. "Anything is way better than school," he said. "Good thing school is over soon. Is it three days left?" he asked as he tried to remember.

"ah...okay.Thanks."Linda said,yet a bit embarrassed knowing Daphne had a limo,and all she had was her feet to get around. Her mom was still saving up for a car. I wonder what Daphne will think of me once she sees my house..Linda thought.

Gabby opened the car door carefully and closed it carefully. Sasha got into the driver's seat and Mario sat right beside her. She pulled out her cellphone, turned it off and watched her friend start up the car repeatedly, until the engine started disdainfully, but then purred.

"Hey, Sasha? I also need to get changed too, so I might take long, trying to unpack and find whatever I need." she laughed, embarassed.

"Right then! Let's go!" Daphne exclaimed. The girls left class and waited for the limo. After Daphne biting of Craig's(the limo chauffeur) head for being late they left the school.

Sasha started the car. Which was reluctant to start at first. Her brother had given her is old car since had had bought himself a nice new one. Still she wished in her mind that she could depend on.

Sasha laughed."Its ok. It is still early. We have plenty of time to get ready."

She looked to Mario as she slowly pulled out of the school parking lot. She gave him a smile and puckerd her lips as is if giving him a peck from afar.

"Do you want us to stay at your place while we get ready, or go to mine and when I am done go to yours?"

She said to Gabby, finnally pulling on to the main road and started driving home.

Daphne nodded without responding fearing that she might cry. Why can't I cry she thought, ever since he was gone her parents and friends told her not to cry so she didn't. But keeping her feelings bottled up and never talking about it didn't do much good. A tear fell and was followed by many others.
