I was just curious how many of you are playing those Sim teaser things on the official website while we wait patiently for the game to come out? If so, which one(s)?

Right now, I'm doing the pen pal one ;)

Haha! That one's addicting! You play it for 2 sim weeks, it sleeps for 10 (real life) minutes, then you go back to it :) LOTS of fun!

It's actually called "SimSocial". What you do is you create (a basic) sim, choose 5 traits, a Lifetime Goal, and you work toward that goal by going to work and trying to fit in a social life at the same time. Hard to really explain, but it's just a taste (more like a crumb) of what the Sims 3 game will be.

They're a horrible friend :P

yeah why does that happen. after you play sim social for a while you go to sleep for ten minutes. its just like KUDOS.

I did play SimSocial but its boring because
A) It's a knockoff of Kudos
B) Its crashes a LOT.
but I still play the email one which is kind of sad because I check it constanly while I'm on here but I swore I would come off of it when Sims 3 releases which probably won't be hard anyway.

i play the pen pal one... but EA keep sending me emails while i'm sleeping n kept asking me "did u get me email??" even though i set the correct timezone for my country...

Mini, you can also set the hours you want to receive emails. It might be set to 24 hour email by default. At the moment, I have mine set for daytime delivery (8:00AM to 6:00PM) and it seems to be working out fine. Furthermore, you can set the frequency of the emails--right down to only one a day, if you're not on often.

If yours went on their honeymoon, it means their story is complete, and it's time to choose a new friend, if you wish. One of mine did that as well... Congrats!

I've been playing SimFriend...and a tidbit of SimSocial. I played the website surf one but that got boring fast. They should have released a sample of the REAL CAS!

Ehh... I think a SAMPLE of the real CAS would've gotten boring FAST... there'd only be so much you could do with that.

I've been playing SimFriend, and though I've enjoyed it, the inconsistencies sort of bug me. My SimFriend lost her job, but often referred to it in letters afterwards, as if she still had one. Now she owns her own restaurant but still speaks of things that have happened at 'the office.' Though she had left her first romance and was single, she up and mentioned a boyfriend I'd never heard of. It doesn't stop me from having fun with it, but it's still a little odd...

I've been playing it on Facebook successfully without any crashes.

I know what you mean about the Kudos similarity. In fact, I contacted the creator, Cliff Harris, on Facebook to let him know about it. He emailed back stating it was OK, EA licensed the game design and source code from him.

Can someone point me in the direction of these teasers..i carn't seem to find them? :s

I don't like the SimSocial teaser, mainly because I hated Kudos. I just hope it has no similarities whatsoever with The Sims 3.
The SimFriend is kinda fun, even though she emails me at the wrong time (totally not according to the options I chose).
