Not that I do it often in the real world....ahem, in Sims2 I used to be able to phone work and call in sick. I used to do this when my Sim had something to do, like ALL the housework or to throw a party.

Earlier today, my sim was getting ready for bed when the tap burst. I spent all night fixing it before collapsing in bed. When work came around, my sim was tired, hungry, dirty and fed up. A perfect time to call in sick, but I couldnt find an option for it!

I could phone to quit work, but no sickness! Am I missing it or has it been removed?

I think it has been removed, unfortunately. I don't know why; sometimes, my sims have other things to tend to.

You can have your sim go to work and then leave early. They won't be paid much but you can then have your sim work hard the next day to make up for leaving early.

You can buy a lifetimereward (vacationer?) allowing you to call in sick ;)

Oh, I thought there was a reward for that but I forgot what it was called and what it did. Yep, get the vacationer award, it will allow you to miss work without problems.

With the "Vacationer" reward you can miss work. You won't get paid and you probably lose something like 5-10% of performance but it's no big deal. However, I'd be somewhat careful with it, don't take too many days off so you don't get fired. Also, make sure you have at least mediocre performance before you take a day off.
