Expansion Pack not being read!

I recently downloaded a bunch of pets for The Sims 2 from the cc section here. When I went to install them into my game (they were sims2pack files) I continuously got messages saying that I don't have the proper expansion pack installed. I've had the Pets ep installed and working well for a week or two now, but it's not registering. What's going on??

edit: oh and some other pets that i downloaded installed, but others didn't

If you look at the install instructions for pets, in the tab on every upload, you will see that this error is common and that by using the clean installer the error will no longer be a problem. :)
