Plates not being cleared and I can't delete them

I think something in a queue got stuck. I hope there is a way to clear it..

My sim had visitors just before going to work, she asked everyone to leave then went to work but two smelly plates she left on the kitchen table say "can't pick up" when I went to move them, and the moveObjects cheat will only let me move them, not delete. Meanwhile my sim seems to ignore tham and I can't select them for her to clean up either.

For now I used moveObjects to stuff them up in the loft but I keep hearing the flies buzzing :rolleyes: Halp please!

(I'm sure this must happen a lot but I searched and I can't find an answer anywhere.)

You should be able to shift-click them with testingcheats enabled and hit Force Error - this should fix them.

Is this Sims 2 or Sims 3? Have you tried the Hammer Tool, possibly with MoveObjects on?

I did "force error" now do i cancel, delete or, reset? I don't want to "turn em into anything... unnatural"

For the dishes? Delete, as you want them GONE, right?

sorry, its Sims2, I just got them to delete :) only thing is now, the cheats window wont go away xD (I'll stop being a pain in a minute, honest)

Just type exit into the cheat window, or hit ESC. :)

Is the cheat window only one line tall, or several?

1. Either way, click IN the window.
2. If tall, either press the back-tick left of the 1 key (`) or enter close
3. If the window is still present, pres Esc.

That should do the trick.

Thanks, that closed it. Trouble is, this same problem with the plates seems to be happening with every used plate now :( I never had this before.

Edit: just checked the menu options on a serving plate with some toaster pastries still on it, I'm sure there should be a clean up option even though there is food still there, but it is missing :\

Good Lord that was something I hope never to have to repeat. Thanks again.

Seems it was probably a problem on the Lot itself, but everything that I had "in" originally is back in, including the half-dozen or so custom things (which weren't even there when this started) so I don't know what caused it or what fixed it, the problem was still present after I cleared the cache too.

Anyway now its fixd Im too tired to play anymore today!
