Hi everybody! :)

Yesterday I tried out the tutorial that teaches how to make custom paintings. This one (http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorial:_Custom_Paintings_in_Sims_3). Thank you Peter and Inge for S3PE, and Srikandi and Snaitf for the tutorial, Snaitf for FNV Generator and Echo for Postal. I'm grateful for your tools and patience. And for sharing. I did Matisse's Icarus last night and I'll be having a great time in these next days, maybe weeks, getting all my favourite art into the game.

A couple of problems emerged after I installed everything needed to make the paintings, though.

Now, when Sims 3 finishes loading and I enter the game/family I'm playing with, it takes something like 1 or 2 minutes until the game moves. The first time I tough it could be a crash. As I could see and move the cursor, I waited. Eventually, everything moved again.

As for saving and quitting, it takes forever, so I'm actually using task manager to close the game.

As I am a person moved by fevers and I know I won't play until I don't have at least half the contents of the Louvre Museum in my game, I don't really see this as problem.

But when I'm over with the paintings, how shall I play? I can uninstall everything I used to make the paintings, but that's not really a solution because, eventually, I'll wish to make some more.

What may I have done wrong?

Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Any help will be really appreciated.

Thank you :)

First off, our tut was written before Peter and Inge had released the Object Cloner (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=362413). Xanathon wrote a new tut (http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:How_To_Clone_A_Painting_And_Change_the_Texture) for that. It's a much simpler procedure, no hex editing required. And it's currently linked in the intro to our tut.

Second, just installing all the tools mentioned in our tut needed for making paintings would have no effect whatsoever on your game. They can't be slowing or crashing it. They are separate computer programs, and they do not interact with the game at all. If you used those programs improperly to modify the base game files, yes, you could cause yourself problems, but simply installing them can not cause what you describe.

Hi Srikandi. I believe I screwed up something in some moment, so I was hoping someone more experienced could help me figure out what may have been the problem. I guess I'll uninstall everything and try the cloner.
Thank you! :)
