I have been reworking an old church I build a long time ago. I read the tutorials here how to make lots and tried few new things out. Well one of them gave me a problem. I tested the cheat roofslopeangle to see if the roofs could look nicer. Well I didn't like it so I went away from the lot without saving cause I couldn't figure out at that time what my default roofangle was.
Then I loaded my lot again and the roofs were back as they were before.
The problem started the next day as I loaded my game and the lot again. Suddenly the roofs had gone mad and the slopeangle was somewhere like 60.
(See the attached images, image 1: roof gone mad, image 2 normal roof)
Now I had to figure out what I had had before so I tried with several numbers until I realized that it should be roofslopeangle 45. That looked like the roofs I started with.
Now I saved the lot, loaded the neighborhood and then loaded the lot again. The roofs were as they should be and I thougth, okey problem solved.
This happened during the last week. Now yesterday the problem occured again. I had been trying to package my lot and reinstall it to see if it works. There I encounted many problems which I'm not going to go into because thats another issue.
I need to explain the steps I did anyway if that messed things up with the roofs again. To get a fresh start I deleted my The Sims 2 file from My documents and started the game over so I could see if my sim2package file works. Now it didn't so I took the deleted Sims 2 file from the trashcan and put it back were it suppoused to be (My documents - EA Games - The Sims 2)
I started the game again and there my lot was as it should be. I entered the lot and the roofs had gone mad again:!:
Why does it do that? I can't understand. If I try to upload the lot here on MTS and the lot has this problem isn't there a possibility the the nice people here that download it could get this problem into their game with this lot?

Because I have reinstalled my game lately I only have The Sims 2 Double Deluxe (base game, NL and Celebration stuff), UNI and OFB installed right now. I havent yet installed my other expansions.

Other things you may need to know. This could be irrelevant :!: I have reinstalled my Windowns XP Media Edition a while ago with my husbands help. I (read "my husband" ;) ) haven't had the time yet to update my graphics card driver, but the game with these expansions worked nicely before when my computer were new (3 years ago) so I don't know if that could be the root to the trubble. (Back then I only had The sims 2 Deluxe without celebration Stuff, but the dvd broke and I returned it to the EA. They sent me instead Double Deluxe.) The next week I am finally going to get help to update my driver. :) Yey!

So :help: me if you can, please!

If I have posted this on a wrong place, pleace tell me where I should post it if you delete it. I have read tutorials, FAQs and all I can think of and searched the site for the correct forum but I'm still confused if this is the right place for this question. I'm am new to this so bare with me.

Thank you in forehead for your help :)

Is your game patched? From what I recall, the roof code was broken originally and only got fixed in one of the OfB patches.

Well, it wasn't but after I wrote this I thought of that too and patched the game directly with both OFB and UNI patches. The Double Deluxe should have NL Patch inside already. Then I also got my graphic card driver updated today. Afterwards I started the game and there the roof was again reaching to the skyes.
Is the lot broken now as I worked with the roof unpathced?

If you have saved the lot like this, then you'll have to redo the roof angles … I'm not exactly sure in which way this was broken, but the symptoms were like you describe (everything looks good until you restart/re-enter), so the game obviously didn't save the angles correctly before the fix.

Thanks Plasticbox for your answers. If I understand you correct, by redoing the roof angles you mean that I should use the cheat roofslopeangle and choose the sloping I like, now as I have patched my game and then save the lot. And then the problem should be fixed. Well I tried that, but nevertheless, the roofs won't work. After I patched my game the roofs are wrong every time I enter the lot, not only once and a while. I'm so sick of it so I think I just take the roofs of and use flooring as roofs. I just need to rebuild the house... :(

The problem with the roofs not functioning although I patched the game, had to have something to do with the problem that I couldn't install the lot with the CI. When I uninstalled the CI, saved the lot with correct roofing, packaged the lot and reinstalled it with the games original installer, the lot finally works!!!
Then I could install the CI again and suddenly the program can install the new sims2package file. And the roof angles are correct still. Yey, my lot is saved! :)
