Well, long time since I've built anything, but in between hair conversions (2 nouk ones for the moment.) I felt a sudden urge to build a mansion. (on a 60*60 lot) I really find the maxis default mansions so fugly so I started my own. WHat do ya think? :D

Oh and the entire middle building is a hallway. I got a little carried away. but it's monumental. So.. Anyway.. ;)

Amazing. I dont really go for builds like this, as you would know if you saw any of my homes, but I can definately say that I would download this in a heartbeat. Great work, and continue the build.

ooo this looks like my kinda home! The 1 thing i didn't like is the extra pillars on the top at the entrance,it just looks undone or something.

It looks amazing! I agree with chilla2, I would prob remove the top-most columns on the entrance bit! Interested to see how the landscaping will look like!

WHOA! You should have heard my first reaction when I say this. ;) But, the yellow looks a tiny bit too light... just a tiny bit. That's the only critisism I have... :)

Beautiful! i think all you need is some landscaping...look at the Chateau de Vaux la Vicomte.....you get some inspiration!

It actually looks like a capitol building. So when sims aren't living there, the legislature can meet there.
But, otherwise it would be a great home for a bankster sim, you know the type who works for a large bank, pays himself a 20 million simoleon salary that he gets from stealing the pensions of other sims.

Wow, that is one biiiiiiiiig house, V. Are you going to give your sims rollers skates so that they won't get tired going from one end to the other. Are you going to furnish every room?
Agree with Henry, it needs landscaping. But it is pretty awesome.

So a update. I cut the mansion in two arias the left wing into the living area and the right wing into a formal or whatever wing (Does someone have a better name for formal wing?). In the right wing are the library and the "party" room.
So far the house has 6 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms --> one nurserie, one master, one single room and a guest/ teenager room (has double bed). Each bedroom has a private bathroom attached. Thats about it. Now for the picspam.

Party room. I hid a radio in the non -functional piano. So there is some music.

Floorplan formal or right wing. 1st floor on top of picture.

Master bedroom with private bathroom and corridor.
http://thumbs2.modthesims2.com/img/3/1/3/4/0/7/5/MTS2_v-ware_1011371_Screenshot-629.jpg
The two pics on top of the picture are piccies of the right or formal wing big batroom.
The one below of the left or living wing.
I already playtested the house both as private and community building. As private it doesn't have too long walkingdistances because of the two wings. Also as community building it shows up as library. So it could function as library/museum in your hood.
So what do ya think! ;)

I absolutely love this. I have to commend you on the furnishing. It's rare that when someone uploads a home this large that it actually looks lived in, but you've got that spot on. Looking forward to a download.

I love this house, there is a serious lack of *true* mansions! It's really looking good!
The only thing that I see is that the treadmill in the basement wouldn't be usable and I think you could use more terrain paint.
And then as I'm writing this I realize that this thread is from September...... :'(
