I've made a preg morph for an existing mesh and got it to show up correctly in the game, but it animates strangely. When she bends down low her stomach narrows and comes to a point. I've tried to edit bone assignments but no matter what I do it's not changing anything. It's bad enough Milkshape crashes every other time I try to access the bone tool despite reinstalling several times.

I looked at the nude maxis mesh to see how they stopped it from happening and I tried to change my mesh to the same. I am unable to set the top right variable (or whatever) to -1 like maxis' because it wont let me do a negative.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong, this is driving me crazy =/

Really? No one at all has had this problem? =/

A preg morph, like a fat morph, does not have bone weights. All the bone weights should be -1. If you made the morph correctly, when you load the mesh into MilkShape, the bone weights will all be -1 for the preg morph.

The bone weights are all in the "regular shape" mesh group, not the morphs. Does anything strange happen with this mesh when a non-pregnant sim bends over? Can you compare the stomach / waist weights of this mesh to some existing mesh, like swimsuit or undies?

Does MilkShape crash only with that mesh, or with any mesh? I suspect the problem might be with the mesh, not MilkShape. Try opening bone tool when you have a different mesh loaded.

Also, try using demon's Extended Manual Edit plugin, it lets you look at and adjust bone weights manually. It's handy to have when bone tool doesn't do quite what you want.

The bone weights of the morph are all -1 except root trans, which has 1. Won't allow me to change it.

The original mesh does not animate strangely, but the creator seems to have moved things because the default body's upper ribs don't poke out the same. She's also a meshing expert so I imagine she's fixed any problems if some arose.

Compared to the default nude body, the same point is not quite the same as the custom mesh. The weights are maxis: 81, 10, 9; custom: 68, 20, 12. The index is off too in the sense that the maxis' 3rd # is 4 for spine1 where the custom mesh has 39 for breathe_trans.

Milkshape crashes either the second or third time using the bone tool on any mesh I try. I don't know why, and reinstalling the program didn't fix it unfortunately. I'll try to find that plugin, though.

demon's plugin is here and has been invaluable to me when meshing

Can you attach the mesh you're working on, with the preg morph? I'll take a quick look at it.

Thanks for the link :)

Here's the mesh.. well, it's a replacement thing like I asked you about before. I've included the original with it.
