View Full Version : Jennifer Love Hewitt -- Updates! :)

This is the first time I've created a sim from the real person, and it is much harder than just inventing someone. We know Jennifer Love Hewitt, the beautiful actress, but do we know her, sim version? I certainly don't! So please help me -- I need looots of help.
The first pic, it's not her skin color -- it's paler, I changed it after I took that pic, the other ones are the real color.
Anybody and everybody comment -- I need all the help I can get!

Well from what i can see i think her nose tip needs to slightly larger and smaller nostrils and a more narrow jaw and cheek, and can you post a clear straight ahead pic of the sim next time? the one you posted is kinda blurry :)

I agree with thedivineone's comments. I also think her bridge needs to be thinner.
Need a straight on shot and a side profile would be helpful.

Lol...that's weird. She looks like Audrey's Linda w/e w/e from ER that was just uploaded. Weird, right?
Well...she doesn't look like JLH quite yet. :( But I'm sure you can get her there! We just got a bunch of tweaks ahead of us!
I think her face is too wide for starters... Also, can you get a larger source pic? That one is too dinky.

Sorry I didn't update -- I've been really busy.
It's blurry cause I put them together using Paint -- which was dumb of me. :p I tried downloading Photoshop and that other one -- I forget what it's called -- but I think it was having problems on my computer... ? I won't put a straight-ahead pic this time...
It's hard to find pictures where she's not smiling :p when you're simming, it's annoying how they always smile at the camera!!
Yeah now that you say, she kinda does. :p It's probably the hair style, color, and... lol my sim doesn't really look like the real person anyways. ;)
I'll try and get a bigger picture... or if I REALLY can't I'll just zoom into the one I have haha. :)

OK here she is. Her skin, btw, is right now HP's Custard skintone -- just for my sim Zuri Imani. After I upload her, I will change it back to Aikea. I made various changes -- her head/jaw/cheeks/bridge narrower, played with her brows, her mouth, and tried to get her nose to... work. I probably won't use the other hair -- any suggestions of hair I should use?

Okay, here goes.
Her jaw needs to be wider by a lot.
Her eyes are very slitty, not wide like yours are, so you need to play with the eyelid settings
Her nose is very pointy on profile and you need to rotate the the nose down and make it longer.
The eyebrows need to be rotated downwards on the outer corners.
The lips are fine. You'll get there.

Ok, here she is. Her nose is hard to get -- I played around alot with the bridge, length, and rotate sliders. I'm not sure if it's TOO long now. I also rotated her eyebrows a bit, and made her eyes [slittier? slittyer? slitted more? more slitty? I don't know how to say it...] lol anyways, here's the updated pictures...

That's looking much better...but the jaw is still not right. Make it wider, shorten the chin, and change the "jaw shape" slider so her jaw is a bit more square.
nene1234
5th Nov 2009, 03:43 AM
Thank you, SWC :) I will do that, but not right now... I'm so frustrated with TS3. If I do it, it won't save anyways, because of Error Code 13. Ugh! And none of the 'solutions' will fix it. :(
SnowWhiteCharming
5th Nov 2009, 04:16 AM
Oh...wait. I found how to fix that before. But, do you have a patch? I think one of the patches fixed that error, possibly? But what you have to do is while the game is still open you have to delete your saved game. And then you try'n save again and it'll, hopefully, work.
nene1234
5th Nov 2009, 04:22 AM
Uhm... I have all the patches, from EA. I think. I'm on 1.4.6.00001
I heard that, but I don't actually know how to delete my saved game? I did keep on deleting this file, SunsetValley.sims3.bad, is that what you mean? It keeps coming back.
SnowWhiteCharming
5th Nov 2009, 05:11 AM
It's supposed to come back, lol. Don't close your game, just minimize it. Then delete your game file and then bring the sims back up and you should be able to save and it'll replace the old file. Make sure you copy&paste it, though, to a diff' location in case you need to put it back in.
nene1234

Where is the game file though? And what's it called?

Here we go, I made her jaw wider and more square. =} I also made the nose a bit shorter. I still need lots of help, please ;)

nene1234, can you put together your sim and the real Jen's pictures into one so we can see them side-by-side? It would really help with suggestions.
She needs smaller irises, though.
nene1234
6th Nov 2009, 08:02 PM
Yep ;) Paint might make them a bit blurry though...
I'll download eyes with smaller irises -- just after I upload my sim Anna Adaleiz. =} She's using different eyes...
nene1234
6th Nov 2009, 08:11 PM
I did that, but I think it's sort of out of proportion now... =/

Out of proportion is your fault, don't blame Paint :P (JK)
Try to get Gimp, it's free and you can make nice, non-blurry and bigger comparison pics.
nene1234

lol ok thank you :) I just downloaded it. How am I supposed to... use it... ?

6th Nov 2009, 09:20 PM
Lol...why did you have problems using MS Paint making a side-by-side? I don't really understand why your image got stretched. Have you read my side-by-side tutorial on my journal?
can you make her head width a bit more narrow? The jaw is looking better.
nene1234
6th Nov 2009, 09:55 PM
Thanks for your help! :)
Well... her head is as narrow as it'll go =/
Uhm... I tried to do the thing with your tutorial, but I think I'm having problems cause when I put Jennifer's picture in paint it's really small... so I'm not sure how this is going to turn out! :p

Do you have a slider hack? 'cause you really need one if you don't...her face is like a cue-tip head. It's all skinny and long and bulbousy at the top.
Not really sure what you're having troubles with...your source pic must me too small or something?
I only used MS Paint to do this...
http://thumbs.modthesims.info/getimage.php?file=1023903
nene1234
6th Nov 2009, 10:26 PM
Yeah I do have slider hacks -- Awesomemod, PLUS I had Rick & Delphy's. Not sure if I do.
Wow, how did you make it that big?! Whenever I did that, it just made it all blurry...
SnowWhiteCharming
6th Nov 2009, 10:35 PM
I print screened the image of her from post #9 and then the sim from post #16, opened two different MS Paint programs and pasted the first one in one of them, cropped it so it was just the image, print screened the second and pasted it in the other window, cropping it down to just the image as well. Then I saw that your source pic was really too small for your sim...and you wouldn't want your sim pic to shrink...so in the source pic one, making sure it wasn't selected, I went to Image > Resize/Skew... and then, in the resize section, I inputted 150% for both horizontal and vertical. And then I selected all, copied, went to the sim one, widened the top and the bottom of the white area, pasted it, adjusted, cropped to fit and saved.
nene1234
6th Nov 2009, 10:43 PM
Uhm... oh. :p when I do that it makes the real Jen all blurry =/
SnowWhiteCharming
6th Nov 2009, 10:49 PM
Well, it made her blurry... I mean, when I increased the size it made her blurry for me, as well. Just save my enlarged version of her face, then. And use it for whenever you take sim pics for comparison. makes it easier.
nene1234
6th Nov 2009, 10:54 PM
Ok. Thank you SWC!! :)

12th Nov 2009, 04:00 AM
Alright, haven't looked at Jen for a while now (lol only a week), I was busy with... my 'problems' lol. Thought that since I have submitted Birgitta and I'm not getting much feedback on Zuri, I'd just work on her again! :) I know this will be a long-lasting project, as she is far from a look-alike, and so I hope I don't get discouraged and you guys don't get tired of me... =/
As SWC said, Jen's head is sort of like a Q-tip. I really don't know how to make the top of her head BIGGER, but looking at the already-made head shapes I see the 1st Maxis one is a bit like that. Should I re-do her head? :o
Updates:
-Changed eyebrows
-Moved eyebrows down all the way
-Made nose shorter
-Moved nose up
-Attempted to fix nose, completely wrong from profile view
-Rotated nose bridge
-Moved nose bridge up
-Brought nose bridge depth down
-Made nostrils a bit bigger
-Brought nose definition down, which brought on the need to make nose longer
-Made nose longer
-Made nose bridge a TINY bit wider
-Moved face up a tad
-Made eyes even squintier
-Added her mole (Which I'd forgotten about! :p )
-Added some hair -- I need better hair though =/ Anyone know of hair I could use?
-Decreased jaw width
-Darkened hair color
How is she coming along? I need help!
:)

looking better.... but her nose is somewhat overwhelming.... can you make it smaller a bit overall? And after the face is done, i def think you should use the booby slider on her.... lol

Sorry! Didn't even see your post Wicked :o lol I'm def using the slider. ;)
I did scale the nose down.

Hi, I think her eye need to squint more, which will make them smaller so after that you may need to scale them up just a little. He chin seems a little off. Try scaling it down just a tad and then try moving the chin depth to the right a tad. You'll have to play with those two to get the right balance. Your probably going to need to get a side profile of her to get that right. Then it won't look like her lip is sitting on her chin. Sometimes you only need to move the chin depth just a tad, but you need her profile to know. Or... you may only need to scale it down just a tad.
nene1234
17th Nov 2009, 03:18 AM
I tried to do what you said, Jak, but I'm not sure if it worked... it's strange... I think her chin looks right from the profile, but when I do it from the front... it just doesn't! :(

18th Nov 2009, 07:03 AM
Hi, okay...I think you need to use the jaw shaper and fix her chin. You need to go to the left. Not completely square but not that point you have either. Then you'll just have to look at it and see if you need to do anyting with the jaw width. It's kind of hard for me to tell without a comparison pic so you will have to play with the chin scale and the chin debth ...however her chin looks on a side profile. I think if you bring her nose up a tad it will be the right distance between her nose and her mouth. Her eyes look a little dark to me, hard to tell about the eyes. I can use colorPicker if you want and give you the RGB if you want.
Just in case you want them. RGB (93, 86, 68). Might help.

Ok! Thank you Jak! :)
Sorry it took me so long to get to this...
Um... sorry, but what is RGB? Is that the color, for her eyes? OHH nevermind. I'm pretty sure it is ;)
Updates are coming!! :D
nene1234
24th Nov 2009, 03:59 AM
Okie dokie... here she is :) I am now using Escand's Tiffany Glaze eye replacements, so they are a lot smaller. ;) (Thank you Escand for these eyes! ;) ) I did the RGB you said, Jak, how's her eye color look?
I know she looks like she's smiling... and she is. :p It's not the way her mouth is, it's just with the supercomputer thing, cause I can't use IndieStone with the patch, this is the only way to edit her.
But I did bring the thickness down on the top lip. Those two lines... forget what they're called :p. .. under the nose, they look sort of funny. And it's all rather confusing there... I think she looks rather like a chipmunk! :D (At least there)
I used slider called "Chin Underlip Depth" that came with the new patch. It helped SO much.

Hmm I think that photo you're using has her squinting too much. Also, make the top lip wider, turn lip shape up and thickness down. to get that curvy look.

Oh thanks for the photos Wicked! :) Those are so much better... :p
She is back to miinie's BrightEyes, but I will change her later, so just ignore that :)
How is she with updates? I played around with her eyes... I really don't know how to do them! In some pictures, when she poses her eyes are wide, but in others they're all squinty (probably beause of the camera flash). So... I dunno.
I kept both pictures! :P Because I couldn't decide which one to use.

Sorry I put the wrong picture up there! I put wicked's up... instead of mine... o_o
Anyways, got the new picture up :)
I'd base her eyes and lips on the middle photo and her nose and jawline on the first one.
I think that's a good idea ;)
I can do that!
I think her nose is pretty close right now... front shot... well, nevermind, but it will be ;)
Feedback please, updates tomorrow.

Ohhh goodness she's looking great! Hmm, I don't know how this would turn out, but rotate her nose up just the smalllllleeessstttt bit. And pull her mouth corners down a little to get that wavy lip look she's got. And where are her eyelashes! I can't see them at all! Hmm give her some smoky black eyeshadow with a smudgy liner. She needs some pretty hair! Can you try some hairs on her? Anything wavy or long with bangs?

Changes done! :)
I've got a profile shot -- one before and one after (the nose rotate)...
But they have barely any difference, so...
And I've got hair shots, and makeup :)
I also gave her a CC [beauty mark, freckle?], and I colored it to make it lighter, as hers isn't so visible, but now it may be too low? Should I move her cheekbones higher?

Sorry, Nene, just not seeing JLH in your sim.
From the side her nose needs to be longer.
Her eyes need to be closer together.
Shine a light on her face in game.
Her lower eyelid could come down a tad.
Her lower lip could be a tad wider.
Try a more corally coloured lippie on her.
I'm sure there is an updo somewhere on mysims3 blog which will suit her better than those hairs above.

I like the make up you've got there.
And all those hairs are humungeous and not right for her.
(I lol'd at the names of the photos for before and after)
I rather like her nose in the after shot.

Trust me, Audrey, I'm not seeing her either =/
And I am pretty stumped :o
She wasn't wearing any lipstick before, but I put her in some, and I think it might be too much but honestly... I am just so exhausted right now...
Got some hairs :) And done the changes you said, Audrey, plus I tweaked the eyes a bit and brought the jaw shape dowwwn. :)
These pictures are just for her hair. Well, you can look at her face if you want, but I'll give a side-by-side tomorrow because, as forementioned, I am exhausted!! :)

For some reason Im liking number 9 hair. The one where only half comes over the shoulder. Or number 3 is really pretty too.
Now where did that side by side go you promised?!? ;)
