Posebox questions~

Ok, so I've posted numerous times about pose boxes, a new question every time. And every time I narrow down my problem just a little bit... Only now I seem to have come to a dead end.

Earlier in the month I posted asking if the poseboxes at XMsims (http://www.xmsims.com/sims2/ehtm/simerobj/simermisc07.htm) needed any EPs, for I only have the DoubleDeluxe version of the game. After that, I emailed the site manager, who informed me that all items on XMsims, pose boxes included, should be base game compatible. However, the pose boxes are STILL making my game crash. I get similar results with poseboxes from Janita and Simscave >.>

Any help?

I'm certainly no expert, but in my experience the game only crashes if I have a hack conflict (Though actual crashing is rare. Usually, certain interactions just won't work and then I know I have to do the dance to figure out who doesn't like whom.) OR I've got some CC that I either didn't notice required an EP I don't have or that the creator didn't mention needing a certain EP that I don't have. Most often, this happens with downloaded lots. So, like I said, not an expert, but I suspect that perhaps the poseboxes actually do require an EP? Perhaps if they "borrow" from animations that came with a certain EP, then they will require that EP? But, I'm not really sure how they're made, so...?

Honestly I've had loads of trouble with poses from other sites.. Personally my advice is to stick to stuff from here or very reputable sites regarding poseboxes.
