Apartment Life Cheat Codes

I'm trying to get the building tools that are blanked out in Apartment Life to open up, and I'm having no success. I have the lastest AL patch, and the three cheat codes I've found that don't want to work for me are:

ApartmentBuildBuyRestrictions (on/off)
boolProp aptBaseLotSpecificToolsDisabled (true/false)
boolprop aptsublotspecifictoolsdisabled (true/false)

I've gone through all the Help sections in MTS, and those on the Sims website and can't figure out the problem. I have a feeling I'm missing something that is probably very simple. Any help would be appreciated! :-)

It's a vastly better idea to empty your apartment and rezone it to residential to make building changes. It's very possible to bork your lot using those codes. Be sure you have backed up everything.

I'm going to ignore the first one. I never use it. Be sure you are using them in the correct situations. Baselot is for an uninhabited lot that has already been zoned apt. Sublot is for one inhabited unit of an apt. After you enter the code, you have to actually click on one of the build tools to light them up.

boolProp aptBaseLotSpecificToolsDisabled false

that SHOULD open them up for you. copy it and directly paste it just like that and try it to see since its a little long. You do it while in buy mode then click build mode afterwards and they should be open.
