No 'propose going steady' Option...

I have deleted a sim that my sim was 'going steady' with and now the 'propose going steady' option isn't listed. How do I go about breaking up with the deleted sim if she is not there?

Since I downloaded her my game was slow and just not like it was before I got her, so I removed her before thinking I should probably have broken up with her first. Anyway, since she's gone the game is running smoothly again apart from the fact I cant get the 'propose going steady' interaction. I have swapped sims to try and get the 'ask to break up with...' interaction but it say's that my sim is actually single so I don't really know why I can't get the interaction. I've cleared the cache files and removed custom content and tried again but to no avail :s
