Hi...got a new PC & am gonna install The Sims 2 & expansions. In the past I have just backed up my lots but was wondering what happens if I back up the neighbourhoods? Is this even possible? I may try & do it both ways just in case but just was curious if someone has managed to do this succesfully.
Thanks,
Zen

To move files to a new PC, you must backup and copy over the entire "The Sims 2" folder under your "My Documents" folder for each user account that plays the Sims game.

If you've installed custom content that was installed with the Scriptorium software, or where you had to modify the script files (e.g. adding custom modular stairs), then also backup the script files in "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Catalog\Scripts"

This is a useful link:

If you have families that you want to save, then you need to backup the entire neighborhood... backing up the lots isn't enough.
