Sims missing from family, still in neighborhood.

I couldn't find a specific catagory for a problem of this sort, so I figured Misc. I recently had to restore my neigborhood froma backup. After doing so, I noticed that I had two copies of the same family in the Family bin. Weird, but honestly not the first time it's happened. My usual solution is to simply place both copies on the same lot. There has never been a problem with doing so before, and it gets both copies out of the bin. There are no duplicate sims, and it seems to have no effect. This time, however, I failed to notice that copy A had two less members than copy B, as not all the family members showed up on the thumbnail. When I tried to drop copy B onto the lot, the game crashed. When I reloaded, two members of copy B were gone, though all members of copy A remember knowing them. I have tried reloading the backup, and no matter how I try to fix this, it happens again. Looking at the sims files in SIM PE, I can see the missing members. Is there a way to get sims from the neighborhood file back into my game, with SIM PE or through some other method?

Update: Found that the Sims were added to the default group, and used Simblender to teleport them to the house in question.
