I am running The Sims 2 (with University, Seasons, Nightlife, Glamour Life Stuff, Family Fun Stuff, Open for Business, and Pets) on a MacBook. Everything has been running smoothly up until today. Well, yesterday I uninstalled the entire game to free up some space on my hard drive. I decided to re-install it today. Now, every time I try to install a Sims2Pack file, Package Installer opens, but it freezes up my entire computer. It just sits there loading, but it never loads. I do have a lot of custom content (a little over 3,000 files in the Downloads folder). Could that be the problem? Also, I have 7GB of free space left on my hard drive.

Did you try installing a different pack file? The one your trying to install could have bugs or problems, and if it's with all of them, you could just have to much custom content. Try backing up your Sims 2 file, then restoring it, and place the backup information into it again.

And 7 gig of free space isn't much. You may need to clear out the hard drive of unneeded content.
