Any other suggestions, ideas are highly welcomed. I am open to any and all suggestions, as long as it resembles some sort of cross between a victorian farmhouse on the beach (this will be explained at a later time, haha)

Thank you all in advance and I hope that, when this is done, I have something that you can enjoy :)

I don't really know if this can help you, but to be honest, I think it is perfect. Really, I do. I love everything about this house. The roof, the colors, and all the details in each corner of the house. Really well done Q!

Well it looks brilliant, i love the colour scheme! :D the front of the house is a tad off, that patch in the bottom right of the image, in front of the right hand side of the house, the lawn is super empty, use some different terrain paint or a fountain or something :) also i am not sure about the big section at the front on the left, it looks a bit bare and nekkid on the walls, maybe a bit of roof or a bay window? not sure really, could just be me lol :P

The house looks really great!
Maybe it would look even better if the stone was a little bit more grey or white instead of brown.

Ah, the master is back.

I adore this house. Like dd said, the front left is a bit too bare. I would consider changing the color of the windows and shutters for the whole house, as they blend in a bit too much, imo.

Also in this area, in picture 3, the corner of the house and the extended section there need something to define the inner corner. I'm not sure if I'm saying this right, but I hope you know what I mean. Even a tall tree or some stonework there would help, I think.

But, I have to laugh, because me giving you suggestions is kind of like a kindergartener telling a professor what to do :-)

Respect!

Oh, I see what your saying. Yeah, I will find a way to define that. What I am thinking is possibly extending the porch and pushing the bump back? This way there would be a horizontal line breaking the vertical...I'll post pictures asap ;)

I think this house looks great! And the downstairs layout is much better now as it's not all jumbled together :P

Lovely house QBuilderz. The brown toned rock looks good with the light blue siding and the light blue siding looks good with the black roof, but the blick rook clashes with the brown tones rock (imo) I think if you went with a roof that had the brown tones in it the house would look more cohesive.

The gambrel roof line is one of my favorites. Have you thought about making a perpendicular gambrel roof to the existing one. (over your bump outs) keeping it at the overall height the current roof is?

Once this house is available I will be getting it!

I like the layout of the kitchen, but it seems a tad too dark. I'd say either make the walls lighter, or the cabinets lighter.

I disagree with Twi. I think the dark kitchen gives this romantic warm feeling to it.

I agree with Twi. :P A lighter wood tone would be nice. And maybe where you've got the kind of green tiles, those in blue?

Kind of an odd kitchen for a beach house.

most beach houses have alot of pastel colors in them as well as alo of light

a little wear and tear to the floors would look better too if you can make it look that way somehow.

And the big door opening into a kitchen is realy weird....

I don't agree with that, theonlyonetwo. I think it works, for those ''summer days'' when you just want to let air into the house. It gives it a very open look. :)

I think the door is fine, too. Plenty of beach houses around here have large doors opening from the kitchen and other living areas.

yeah i think the kitchen needs to be much lighter, or just have cream walls ? its all just abt too dark for the beach look. I like having a door out to the back, but that one seems like its a front door and looks a bit out of place, could you put in the glass doors maybe that would look better ? but so far its looking really good :)

I agree with Traelia. The dark wood gives it a good, lived-in and cosy feel imo. Considering the less-modern and more quaint exterior, I think the internerior should really follow suit. Just because a house is at the beach doesn't mean it has to be uber-modern and unlived in. I hate houses that look like that: this kitchen has character, and I like that.

But at the moment, It looks like a kitchen you'd see in a country cottage. I agree, it doesn't have to be unlived in, but it should still suit the exterior style, which is beach in this case. :)

I hate how people automatically assume that old-fashioned means cottages in the countryside. People that live in houses don't always decorate their interior to look like where they live. They decorate it how they like it. Just because little beach-house person lives by the beach doesn't mean they want beachy furniture.

...Wait, is beachy even a word?

I agree with DJ. The kitchen does not look like it belongs in this house. Also, since when does making the walls a lighter color automatically make it look uber-modern and unlived in?

Floors
mabye a light tan wood with some grey tones in it to make it look lived in

Walls
an off white wood wall- kinda like beadboard ( i think thats what its called)

Cabnites
a pastel greenish color mabye

Countertops-
wood like the color of the floors as is

This is what my cousins beachouse's kitchen looks like.
just some ideas.

teehee this is cute!

anyway...
i dont think you should go green it looks a bit urg to me like asparagus. i think you should just lighten the wood and walls a bit and thats all. dont touch anything else. I think it'll look fantastick

The kitchen is a bit dark, I'd say just make the walls lighter, or if you can put some more windows it, other then that, looks fine :)

Sorry for the delay guys, computer issues :( But I have a HUGE panoramic pic of the kitchen.

http://www.modyourpanties.com/images/100108142252-Panoramic%20Pic.jpg

Changed green to blue, the dark wood to near white and added more color in other places. I think I brightened it up and made if more fitting. Thoughts?

It looks waay better now, the colours are nice, is there any way to get more lights in there? or does it look stupid, its not necessary but could make it even better.

Also what about a window just above the stove and the counter next to it? That could be a great view if you got a window in there.

Other then that, lookin' fine :)

just wondering if the fridge works?

ALOT of the times i put stuff over it it doesnt.

QBUILDERZ
9th Jan 2010, 04:35 AM
It is the same color - The lighting in game is faulty and therefor if I make it match during the day it will stand out during the night. Nothing I can do about it that I know of.
