I submitted it and it was rejected for architecture, landscaping, substandard roofing and blurry/crunchy screen shots. Ive redone the screen shots but i may need to do them again.

But i need feedback on what I could do to make it comply with guidelines.

I'm having trouble with landscaping, and artitechture too =D. The roofingis a bit..dull, I don't watch the simpsons, but having looked up a picture of their house I can say:

Your roof is too low, and the chimbley (sp) is very ugly, see
here (http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/0/48277.page) for a tutorial on customising it. -edit- I suggest you just delete the whole chimbley (leave in fireplace) and build a new chimbley on, did see a tutorial with pics/vid somewhere and if I find it I'll post it up.

well the roof was very steep in the original so i made i lower but you right a bit to low. Also it is to long but that was because i was worried about not having enough space but ive had a look through and yes could fix that. Is there anyway to actually change the style of the chimney?

Yes..turn on moveobjects then you can actually seperate chimbley from the fireplace..delete all the chimbley, and build in a new one with wall tool.
