Has anyone played James Cameron's AVATAR The Game yet?
I got it for xmas for PS3 and the graphics are just stunning, but the game lacks game play missions (main story missions). If i was to start a new game at 8:00 AM CST (CST- Central Standard Time) i can have it done by about 5:00 or 6:00 PM CST. The game play it does have is pretty good along with the stunning graphics (the designers really made Pandora look good) but its just too short.
Not near as long as GTA IV.
whats your input on this game? :Pint:

Avatar: The Last Airbender. idk where to find online episodes of it, but im sure they exist.
its completely different from the movie, no semblance whatsoever, so if you go looking for it--keep that in mind..

eugh, spongebob. couldnt pay me to watch spongebob.
avatar the 'toon at least had some clever humor to it. but then, slapstick is about as humorous to me as a slap to the face.
and i know you were talking about the game. and i was saying that when i think " avatar " its not the movie avatar that i think of. so when i first read the title of your thread, i thought, " theres an airbender game? ". heh.

I was interested in this game for PS3 although I was just going to rent it at first before forking out cash. I have always found that Games based off movies are never very good so It doesn't suprise me that the gameplay is too short or whatever. Maybe they ran out of time and had to rush it out.

Excellent environmental graphics but that's about it. Another example of a game rushed out the door to coincide with a movie release.
As is the rule with most movie releases... take your money elsewhere.
There really have not been that many good movie games. The two best (excluding Star Wars games) are undoubtedly Starbreeze's debut release The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and Westwood Studio's Blade Runner.
Less appealing but still worth hunting down are Scarface and the first Godfather game. Both take an open world GTA style approach to the source material and come off great as a result.
Star Wars is a different kettle of fish though those games that most closely attempt to imitate the films have generally fallen short of the mark except for the brilliant SNES platforming action titles like Super Star Wars and Super The Empire Strikes Back as well as the recent Lego entries.
However the best Star Wars games have been the ones based on the extended universe not depicted in the films. The most obvious current examples would be both Knights of the Old Republic games. If you cast your mind a little further back there was also the superlative space simmers X-Wing, Tie-Fighter and X-Wing Alliance.
Oh and it would also be remiss of me to forget to mention Kyle Katarn and the Dark Forces trilogy culminating in Star Wars: Dark Forces 3: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast (yes, that is the official name of the game).
With a universe as rich and culturally relevant as the Star Wars franchise, the fact it has bucked the movie tie-in trend and produced a number of excellent titles is really a case of the exception that proves the rule.
It doesn't matter how much you enjoy a movie chances are if you are considering spending your money on a movie based game there are better places to be spending it.
Always wait for reviews. We professional reviewers play crap games so you don't have to. :P

Avatar the game is nothing but a lousy copy of the waay better movie. which has been seen, time and time again, in the movie-to-game industry.

i agree with you. it has a good flow for graphics but it lacks in gameplay missions, and gameplay all together. i keep playing it because i like the graphics.
