I read the sims Wiki, apparently you can add -w at the end of the shortcut's target by going through properties.. making it Window size, instead of full screen. but it looks odd and small.. anyways to make it larger, I just want the Taskbar to show up to switch from the browsers to sims 2...

You can change your in-game resolution settings by going into your game options and then the graphics options (looks like a little monitor icon iirc). There may be an option for a resolution in there that's just a bit smaller vertically so you can see your taskbar. Or you can Alt-tab to switch programs. :)

What happens if you edit the properties for the shortcut to include your native (or preferred) resolution? For example: [path to executable] -w -r1280x800
