View Full Version : Altering Object Prices with s3pe?
28th Feb 2010, 12:48 AM
How would I go about altering the price of an object with s3pe? There is a counter, created by EA, which I would like to alter the price of. I have opened the file in s3pe, edited the XML to the new price I would like and then saved the file. The issue now is that the game still displays the counter at the original value.
Have I missed something or should I be deleting cache files and such before I run the game again to see any effects?
I've since opened the file in s3pe and the new price is still there in the file.
As a side note, none of these counters exist in the game world yet, only in the catalogue.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The price of objects is controlled by the OJBD, under the Common Block portion.

Okay, next dumb question. How do I actually edit the data in the OBJDs?
I can see the info but the only way I can get it out of the package is by right clicking and choosing 'export to file' but then I end up with a .object file that I can't open.

You really need to update all the OBJDs for a modular object like a counter. Use s3oc to make a clone - using the Cloning | Modular Objects menu. Ensure the Renumber tickbox is UNticked.
Adjust the price as required in the right hand panel. Click Start.
After the cloning is finished, open the package in s3pe and delete everything except the OBJDs and MDLR resource (do not confuse MDLR with MODL or MLOD lol)
Put result in mods/packages

In s3pe select the OBJD resource, then click the Grid button towards the bottom. This will open a new dialog box, and this is where the Common Block is.
