Hello !

I've got a brand new computer (http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Ordinateurs/PC/PC-de-bureau-Grand-Public/ACER/3005977-Pc-ASM7721-Core-i7-920-6G-1T5-HD5850-1024-Mo-W7Prem.htm) with W7 a Radeon HD 5850 graphic card and also a new 16:9 screen (*sigh*... I don't like 16:9 resolutions but I didn't have much choice...).

So of course the graphics in the Sims 3 appear distorted if I play in a 4:3 resolution. After an unsatisfying test with 5:4 resolution, I've tried 16:10 as there isn't 16:9 and it doesn't look too bad (still a little distorted, though). But when I do this, the screen jumps on the left, and the left part of the screen disappears. (Hiding... the control pannel. I was lucky I found the keyboard shortcut to the options so fast... )

Anyways... I've solved the problem by changing the screen settings to 4:3 and playing this way, but I'd like to find a solution so that I can play with the game's 16:9 settings and still having my beautiful, slim sims show correctly.

I've got WA and KIL and my game is patched up to date.

EDIT : I forgot to say that I had upgraded the graphic card drivers.

Why not just use windowed mode? The window size will be whatever resolution you set in the graphics options, hence eliminating stretchiness.

That would be an interesting solution indeed (Better than playing with the screen settings anyway). But just to be sure : there are no graphic or performance problems in the windowed mode ? I mean the game isn't slowed down for example ?

Windowed mode runs just fine with no slowdowns - the only real issue with it is if you use the C key to take screenshots, they'll be dark, but you can get around that using a screen capture program or Print Screen.
