So I havent played the sims for a while and just found a new story mod, so I decided to start playing again. I re installed game and put back in all my mods but I am now getting a "COuld not find a valid directory to install to" error message when I double click to install my mods. The are in the mods-packages folder in the /c drive or whatever so im not sure hwat I am doing wrong.

I'm assuming if you are double clicking on .package files to install them, you are probably using HelperMonkey or MonkeyBars. HelperMonkey is the older of the two and has been replaced by MonkeyBars especially if you have World Adventures.
Have you looked at/read the Game Help: Installing Sims 3 Package Files (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files) Guide? It has been updated with more recent information and utilities to help you make sure the Framework is setup properly and custom content is placed where it is supposed to be, plus it will tell you where to manually find the files on your computer if you need to.
