Weird Problem with downloading CC...

Alright, everytime i download custom content, or anything really off this site for that matter, it downloads as a 'windows media player' file. and it will open in windows media player and try to play. Is this supposed to happen? And none of it shows up in my game, either. All of the content I download for sims 2 worked just fine, and they were the right type of files. :/

now i can't even download anything from this site at all. it just opens up the normal download box that always pops up, and then just opens the file. it says its saving it to 'Temporary Folder'. I can't save it to my computer at all. Anybody know why or how to fix?

What is the archiver/extractor program you're using? It is possible that it gets corrupted, usually fixable by a redownload of an updated version and reinstall.
If you want to be thorough, uninstall the older version first and then reboot to reset the file associations and context menu (that allows you to right-click and extract).

i don't really use ANY extractor program. i didnt know i needed to, lol. i thought they were optional. do you need to have one?

You do if you want stuff you get here. Everything you download from here is compressed to save disk space and transmission time. You need to extract the .package files from the .rar and .zip files you get, which Media Player does NOT know how to handle. Good luck. :up:
