Sims 3 Launcher: won't download newest version

I'm having a problem with my Sims 3 Launcher...
it says that there is a new update available,
but when i try to download it,
the downloading bar either disappears & no download takes place or it says there is no new patches available...
help please?
much appreciated.

also, because of this, i'm unable to download
sims3packs... when i try to download,
a little window pops up saying i need to
download the latest version to download
this content... which leads us back to the main problem. :|

Apart from reading, what did you think people would do after having loaded your thread?

There's a subforum listed at the top of this forum marked "Sims 3 - Mac Help".

What patch version are you on currently? It should be listed in your launcher window, bottom left. Most of the patches can be downloaded from the internet as executables, so that you don't need to use the launcher to update; however I don't know of anywhere which has the very latest patch for Mac.

You can turn on windowed mode with the checkbox in the ingame graphics options.

You may have an outdated EADM version that prevents you from patching.
This guide has instructions on how to check for that and how to get new versions - Game_Help:TS3_EADM_Issues

Also read the sticky on the patch downloads to backup the patch tgz file for future reference.

If I should, I use a Mac & by the looks of the sites on TS3 EADM Issues for installing, they use a PC, not a Mac. :S

There are no direct downloads for MACs, so yes in order to update, you need EADM installed.

Sorry, I just went back to verify those links - they are indeed all .exe executables.

You should be able to install EADM from the DVD, then, I should think?

I am able to install EADM from my Sims 3 DVD? Ohh.
I didn't see a installer or anything on it...

&, haha, i'm not totally figured out now.
My game doesn't load fully. The loading bar
just gets full & bleh. Doesn't load onto the town.
I'm sooooooooooo confused.
Also, i didn't use EADM for my new patch...
Is that why my game won't load totally?
