Hello, I was wondering if anyone has successfully completed a home with a Gambrel or barn roof with the ceilings activated? I was able to do so with one minor glitch of diamond like shapes floating in mid air each time I load the lot.
I can work around this by simply ctrl+ shift to remove the ceiling, and then hitting the undo button, however I have to do this each time I load the lot. It only takes five seconds, and is a minor nuisance, but I wondered if it was possible to eliminate the problem completely.
As you can see, the result is quite lovely with the workaround, and the space is usable as I have tested it with Sims and they do not seem to be bothered by the weather.
I have read through the various how to's such as the Bigger Attics Tutorial by plasticbox (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=156028) and the Advanced Roof with windows tutorial by Frillen7 (http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/story_detail.php?asset_id=49552&asset_type=story&user_id=126444)
I modified these techniques to make the home with the ceilings curved as well as a slightly higher, functional halfwall around the edges of the upper level. I accomplished this by lowering the level from the nearest space outside of the building.
Any hints would be appreciated. If not, I suppose Ill just have to live with the 5 sec work-around. Of course, it is only a problem when I activate the ceilings anyway :)
