For some reason my current family just cant produce a baby boy. I have scoffed no end of apples but to no avail. I have also tried applying the gender blender mod in its 100% flavour but it didnt work. I have noticed a newborn gender option in twallans story mod, I tried this moments before water broke and it didnt work. Should I go back and apply it before a pregnancy? Its annoying me constantly reverting back to a save and going through pregnancy over and over trying to a get a boy. Can any one see what im doing wrong?

The chance of a particular gender is increased by 5% for each watermelon/apple item eaten, to a maximum of 15%. Thus, the maximum chance of having a particular gender is 65% if you eat 3 of a particular item.
From MTS Pregnancy FAQ (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Pregnancy)
As I understand it, if you eat more than 3 apples, you've just reset the chance back to 50/50.
Is it possible that some of your mods are conflicting? I use Twallan's mod and it has worked 100% of the time for me. I do use it, however, as soon as the Sim hops up from the bed after hearing the lullaby during Woo-Hoo. The option isn't available until then.

I think you have to eat apples and watermelons as fruit not as meal. so Just go buy some in the store and make your sim munch on it. It worked for me, I had a girl and a boy.

Ranissa - It's not that more than 3 apples resets the chance - it's that you've maxed out the chance at 65% (3 apples) and eating more apples will do nothing to raise it in any further. 3 apples is the same as 10 apples far as the chance is concerned.

I'm not sure the pregnancy FAQ is correct. AFAIK and as I understand the code, the change per apple/watermelon is 15% and the maximum influence is 50%, so if you eat 4 apples, you will always get a boy and if you eat 4 melons you always get a boy. I could be wrong though.
Anyway, to the OP: The gender offset is determined at impregnation. If you have problems of getting a baby of a certain gender, you shouldn't try to reload a savegame where the sim is already pregnant (because the gender could be already determined), you should create a new pregnancy.

StoryProgression applies its gender determination at conception. So if you installed it after the pregnancy was started, it would have no effect.
You could use SuperComputer's "Basic \ Baby Gender" interaction to reset the gender of an existing pregnancy to whatever you want.
Cheers. :)
