I'm frustrated, confused and annoyed at this point...
I have a legit copy of The Sims 3, I Pre-Ordered a Physical Copy of it and used to play it non stop, I quit playing for a while and now I'm starting back up again.
I decided to patch it today but after the patch downloads and gets to the 'Install Shield' phase I get this message:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww80/beefree94/sims3error.jpg
PC Specs:
-OS: Windows Vista 64 Bit Home Premium
-Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.61 GHz
-RAM: 4.00 GB
-Graphics: Nvidia 9500 GT w/ 2.7 GB Video RAM/Pixel Shader Version 4.0
My Current Version of Sims 3 is: 1.4.6.000001
Trying to Update to: 1.11.7.005001
Any help would be very much appreciated!

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:
Sims 3 - EADM isues
If you encounter issues while downloading Store/Exchange items or when trying to patch or Launcher won't even start, then maybe the issues is not the Launcher but EADM. Try suggestions as listed below.
Uninstall & reinstall EADM
What EADM version are you using?
To check for EADM version:
hover over the EADM logo in upper left corner of the program window
or if you have the icon on the system tray, right-click on this icon and then click on "About".

Have you tried uninstalling, redownload and reinstall? Seems that certain versions of the EADM are buggy.
Manual Uninstall - here (https://easims.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/easims.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=11090)
Redownload the current version - here (https://easims.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/easims.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=11083&p_created=1131562565&p_sid=lvOhFfUj&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=11090&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MTAwNSwxMDA1JnBfcHJvZHM9JnBfY2F0cz0mcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0mcF9wYWdlPTE*&p_li=&p_topview=1#01) (v6.0.4.10)
Allow Adobe Air to install and then update.
Reboot the system.
After a reboot, EADM might prompt you for another update, let it complete as necessary.
Do you get that error when patching via Launcher or through a direct download?
Has EADM been updated since you resume playing the game again?
On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

First, To answer your questions:
-I get the Patching Error via the Launcher
-My EADM has not been updated since I resumed play
I did all the Steps listed above, using the manual uninstall and redownloaded the EADM installer, it installed fine but it didn't ask to install Adobe Air, I rebooted my computer and it did not prompt me for an update. I tried updating The Sims 3 via the launcher and I now get this message.

Then after a bit of waiting the Install Shield had re appeared and it tried to update the game like before and I still got the same error message.

This just confused me even more >_<
I was thinking about just uninstalling The Sims 3 all together, but It doesn't appear in the 'Program & Features' window in the Control Panel
Any insight on what to do next? Thank you for helping me out by the way :)

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:
Sims 3 - Uninstall
This Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall link has the step-by-step instructions to guide you through uninstalling The Sims 3, and its packs (EP/SP).
If you're reinstalling because you're reverting to an older patch, or just do not want to use the Launcher/EADM to patch, read this FAQ Game_Help:TS3_Patching once through before patching and then follow the guide.
If you want to keep EADM, you can get Adobe Air as a separate download from Adobe site.
If you're not prompted to install Adobe Air, it may already have been installed in a previous version? What EADM version is it now? (has EA update it yet again?) You may need to check that your AV and/or Firewall programs are not blocking it.
If you don't need EADM, you can uninstall EADM and patch via a direct download, links in Patching wiki. It's best to remove older patch logs before you retry, however - check your %TEMP% folder and remove any folders with timestamp of your last patching attempt.
The Sims 3 is not in Control Panel Add&Remove? Then that error message makes sense! ;)
Is there an entry for Electronics Arts in Start Menu Programs?
If you want to uninstall & reinstall, we have a guide for that, too.
On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

I went ahead and followed THIS (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_li=&p_sid=ZugVvE*j&p_sp=&p_faqid=22226&p_iid=0&p_created=&p_prod=&p_cat=&p_cv=&p_pv=&p_prods=&p_cats=&prod_lvl1=&prod_lvl2=&prod_lvl3=&cat_lvl1=&cat_lvl2=&cat_lvl3=&p_hidden_prods=&p_search_text=&p_new_search=&p_accessibility=&p_page=&p_lva=22226&nextlink=) Guide, And now, since I've activated The Sims 3 with my EADM, I'm installing it via EADM. Hopefully after everything is said and done, I will be able to patch the game properly.
Thank you very very much for your help!
I'll update again to confirm if everything is working correctly ^^
