Hey,

Is there a way for my sims to permanently live in another country, eg. France, as if it were a normal neighbourhood, like Sunset Valley or Riverview?

Or a way in which I could somehow get the game data for these countries and convert them into neighbourhoods?

I tried having a look at the CAW tool, but I'm not any the wiser about how to do it.

Any help or assistance would really be appreciated :)
Thank you,

I don't think you can, but if your Sim's get a high enough Visa level, they can buy vacation homes.

There are mods that will let you stay there indefinitely, but those neighborhoods aren't set up to support careers, and you can't switch families and play the townies, and so on... so, in short... no, you can't live there as if it were a normal neighborhood.

And as far as I know, nobody's figured out how to open exported world files in CAW, so as yet no way to make them playable that way either. Currently, CAW is one-way only: once a world's been exported so you can open it in the game, you can never open it in CAW again.

Seems like it should be doable, but it's a matter of getting into the data structures of those world files and decoding them. If you're an experienced programmer, you could have a go at it :)

Well you can switch families abroad with awesomemod.

In my game, theres only a few things which differentiate from the base hood:

> No career rabbitholes.
> No chess tournaments
> Families still move and pass away even with story mode off.*
* I am hoping making them sacred households with AM will counter this, but haven't tested long enough to see if this works yet.

So you get about 90% of the features. Good enough I reckon.
