I have a semi-similar problem in that my sims run . . . everywhere.
And they're not even athletic. :|

Do you have AwesomeMod? My Sims started doing this after I installed Awesome. Rather than walk from one object to another object which is, like, two squares away, they run. :giggler:
I'm not complaining.

My sims run everywhere as well with the latest patch/AMB installed. I do not have Awesome Mod installed at this time. Maybe it's just an in game bug?

I actually think it's kind of annoying. Especially when you run to the kitchen to grab the food, then run to the table 10 feet away. o_O;

Hey, it gets you from point A to point B and makes up for the time that they stand there doing nothing while their tiny brains process the complexity of the task you've given them. (Oh, what is a chair? You want me to go over to the chair? What do you want me to do with the chair? You would like me to sit on it? Oh, you would like me to sit on it while doing something else? Now I must not only figure out how to get to the chair, but I must also figure out how to sit on the chair and complete a task while sitting there, and waste ten Sim minutes on this contemplation!)

This is a feature, not a bug, and it came with the new patch/Ambitions. I think it was an attempt to more realistically match clock time with task time. It annoyed me at first, but I got used to it. I almost always play the game on extreme fast forward, and I'm not doing that as much now.

Yeah, but now it's
"OH MAI GAWD! You want me to take this bowl of mac and cheese over to the dining room? But I only have three hours to eat it! I'M GONNA HAVE TO BOOK IT!" *sprintsprint*
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG IT TAKES TO WASH A BOWL?!" *sprints back*
(all of five steps)

I guess I'm not hallucinating. It is kind of annoying, but I'm just waiting it out to see if EA fixes it. I don't have Awesomemod installed, just NRaas.
I also noticed that only some Sims do this. In one house I've been playing, all the kids, the "workaholic" teen and the dad (he's a "perfectionist" and "hot-headed" but I don't remember the rest of his traits) run around. The "slob" teen walks everywhere and so does the mom (I know she is "family oriented" but I can't remember what else.)
Is anyone else seeing this as being trait based?

when they do stuff that requires moving, sometimes the box on the upper right part of the screen will have a little drop-down menu that says "automatic". You can change that to "walk"; it should fix the nuisance for the most part.

Most of my athletic sims run almost all the time, the others don't, so maybe the athletic trait *might* have something to do with it.

It doesn't work, I'm afraid. The sim will run, stop, and then continue running.

its not a perfect solution, but it usually works for me...again, changing "automatic [Run/Walk/Jog/Automatic]" to "walk" usually does the trick...if thats what you tried, then sorry, dont know.

I've been playing with the Bayless family in Twinbrook and all four of them run, even Skeet Bayless who is family oriented and a slob. His daughter Chase (maybe she was meant to be a boy??) runs, and she doesn't have the family trait, but loves the outdoors and is a loner.

So much for that theory then... I just started playing another family in a test CAW world and they aren't running around whereas the same family in Twinbrook did. Could it be a Twinbrook thing then?

My families all run around to do everything as well. Even the slobs.
If this is something that was introduced to reduce time it takes to do things then they should have reduced times that the things they do actually take rather than make them run

Whoa. I just saw a sim cycle in and out of the Bistro five times. She was skinny and sprinted everywhere before. Now that she's a lot heavier, she walks. Her voice sounds a little deeper, too?

Everyone moaned when it took sims ages to do everything (Like sleeping) and now everyone's moaning because they move too fast.

Don't you think it would be better to reduce the time to doing general things rather than have your sims run around?
