Hi, I need some help with recoloring.

I wanna make a plain recolor of a Maxis Clothing, but it's hard to delete the pictures and patterns of the texture. I tried smuging it, but all the wrinkles got messed up. So, if you guys have some tips, tell me, OK?

Oh! And out of curiosity, can you recolor Maxis's hidden clothing via body shop, or do you have to use another program (eg, SimPE) to recolor it, cause I can't seem to find any in the body shop :(

Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated!

I'm trying to make a Racing Outfit like in the Formula 1 with my custom racing team name :anime:

Just Imagine it... my sim driving an Enzo Ferrari, wearing a "Tamama Racing" Racing outfit...

Making plain recolours is not as easy as it sounds. You'll probably have to draw a texture from scratch, making all the wrinkles and highlights yourself in Photoshop. You can use the Maxis texture as a template, though, to make sure all your wrinkles are in the right place.

As for hidden clothing, you can't get access to it with Body Shop. You need to find and extract the files using SimPE... and then recolour them in Photoshop. But to get them to work in your game, you need to have some knowledge of meshing, as you'll need a mesh to put the textures on. If you're interested, the three beginner tutorials on this site can help you get started with that (but be forewarned: meshing is difficult!).

Argh! Why didn't I think of that? Draw a texture from scratch and use maxis's texture as a template to make the wrinkles! thanks alot :)
