how would one go about creating a neon glow effect on a bs mesh? i was thinking maybe making it super reflective and giving it a weird extra bright envi-cube when i recolor it; but is there any way to truly give it a neon or pseudo neon effect that wouldn't be effected in the shadows? like still appear at full brightness even with the lights off?

You mean like a blacklight effect? That would be cool, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

Have you tried messing around with the envi-cube like you said?

i just confirmed that is does not work, sadly. when you use over-bright shades, the envcube reflection can't be seen, regardless of what it looks like. and when you dim some color out of the texture, the envcube isn't bright enough to matter.

oh the pondering...

Have you read pixelhate's TXMT article? Go to pixelhate's page, click articles, it's under there. Should help quite a bit.

Yes! that's exactly it. part one deals with the properties list and a "glow in the dark" effect can be added easily. Tried and it works, too! plus it only applies to single mesh-groups (or individual [txmt] files) so you can have only select portions "glow."

Again, Cat, you've done it again.

Why hasn't anyone else tried this?
