The Professional Challenge (Amb)

This challenge is very simple:

Make a family, with each sim having one of the Ambitions professions. Get to the top of the profession as fast as possible!

This is a casual challenge - no scoring. Just for your own "huh let's see how well I can do this" -ness.



Create a family with 8 adult or young adult sims - you may choose their gender, appearance, traits, etc. however you like.

Move them into a neighborhood. You may move them into a ready-made house, or build your own.

Each sim should then get a job in one of the professions:

Architect/Designer
Stylist
Inventor
Firefighter
Sculptor
Ghost Hunter
Private Investigator
Doctor

Then just play however you see fit, to get them to the top of their profession as fast as possible. Sims in the family may have romances with each other or other sims, and if you have mods to allow you more sims in the family, you can let them have children. No moving any sims out though once you've added them to the family - they need to stay part of the family (or die as part of it).

No cheating for money or anything that gives you a game advantage. Build cheats, purely cosmetic stuff, and fixing glitches are of course okay.

I don't see how this can be possible. How are you supposed to control those 8 sims seeing as they all have jobs which require the players attention. Have you done this challenge, if so how did you do it?

My guess is that there'd be a looooooooot of pausing and cuing.

Inventor and scultper wouldn't be too hard - they could be kept on the same schedule for when they work, eat, play, and sleep.

Doctor doesn't even need to be played as an ambitions profession, although it could be.

Ghost hunters work when everybody else asleeps.

But yeah, this is one of those challenges that would definitely keep you busy. xD

I think that's what the whole "challenge" is about.

This seems fun, I rarely play roomie type households

I'm doing this one now and yes, it is a pain in the ass! Lots of pausing and jumping around. And very difficult to get everyone started since it's 8 sims in one house - the starter house I moved them into had only one double bed.

I'm finding the fire station a great help though - not only my firefighter, but anyone else can go there and hang out and use the skilling equipment. Investigator is pretty easy too since you have open work hours.
