Hiyas. So, just recently (yesterday) I started to have a freezing game, which would last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. :| I figured it was a game problem, so I updated it to 1.14 (it said it was supposed to fix CAW world freezing?). Now, it STILL freezes, but instead lasts 5 seconds to a minute, and happens every 5 seconds to 30 seconds approx. Please note that this is on a CAW world. I tried the whole deleting all CC and reinstalling the CC I use most of the time, to no avail. :wtf: It also only seems to happen in Live Mode. If I'm in Edit Town mode, it nearly never happens. However if I'm using a Sim, then it does, which has caused me to be nearly unable to use the game at all. Any ideas? :bunny:

If this is a CAW world, is it one you've made yourself? Have you completed the routing? This can be caused by a sim getting stuck trying to go somewhere. I believe that typing "resetsim *" (without the quotes) into the cheat console will fix it, but there's still the possibility that another sim will get stuck at a later point.

Not my world, I fail at patience.
It's not the Sim that gets stuck..it's the entire GAME. I can't move the camera, can't click on anything, or generally do anything. Except ctrl + alt + del. :(

As whiterider asked, does this only occur on one world, or on any world? New game or saved game?
Did you follow the Guide that callistra posted to remove ALL Custom Content and test to see if CC is the issue?

Hard to delete ALL CC if it's a custom downloaded world..can't play it at all if I delete that.
Yes..I've done that multiple times.
From my knowledge, only this world as the originals are ugly, CBA to use them.
Saved.. :wtf:

If the problem is cc and you refuse to test it then we can't help you.. You need to follow the guide to figure out what's wrong. Once you figure out what then it's your choice if you want the game fixed or not.
Your "freezing" or lag may also be due to your weak CPU/GPU combo but you need to rule out a game problem to know for sure.

...I don't think you understand...
The world IS a piece of CC; It IS a Custom World after all. If I delete that how can I test it on there. I've already done everything else everyone has said to no prevail. :wtf:
The CPU/GPU shouldn't be a problem, I've ran Sims 3 + multiple other high-graphic/movement games and it's ran fine. :turtle:

So, you have tested in SunsetValley or Twinbrook with not a single piece of CC in .package and .sims3pack formats, and you do not experience this freezing? That is what we have been wanting to know...
Also, if only happens on THIS custom world or ALL custom worlds you downloaded? Making sure you test on a single .world at a time and that this is the only .sim3pack CC you install and have uninstalled the others.
And you do not create any of these custom worlds yourself, correct? Have you checked if there are other users complaining of this freezing phenomenon?
If you're the only one, then conclusion is it is your computer.
If not, then, it may be a routing problem that the World creator never caught in all their testing?

I'm pure base game, haven't tried Sunset Valley yet. I can try this though. Wouldn't understand how it could be my computer, it's played Sims 3 flawlessly since it came out. :wtf: I'll check shortly.
EDIT: No, it isn't the ONLY. I have maybe one other that I should get rid of anyways as I never use it. And no, I don't make worlds myself, for some reason CAW dosen't work for me. (AKA I'm too stupid to understand how it works.)

A computer is a physical system which can be subject to degraded performance and failures. Just because it has been fine doesn't mean it couldn't be your system - that's like saying "I've been driving my car for a year and it's been fine, so it can't be the engine!" It -could- be something else, but especially when you subject a weak system to high strain, it makes it more likely to happen.

I see.. (a bit of a technophobe)
ATM re-uninstalling ALL CC except that world, then going to try Sunset Valley and see if it freezes.
P.S. 200+ CC files take forever to transfer to a file on Desktop.

I thought you said the CC has all been removed except for this world you're testing?
Easiest is to rename the Sims 3 folder and install *only* that world.

It was. But I reinstalled shortly after.
After transferring all the files, I've found that it seems to be the world itself. I deleted the world, and it did nothing but lag a little. Joy, I'm out of a pretty world... Anyone know a good world to download? --- Thanks guys for the help. :bunny:
