Hi there.

I have a questions, is there a fix or a cheate to let get rid of all straying animals that visit my Simīs house? :)

I was looking in the game mods-section but could not find any solution. Help would be appreaciated!

There probably has been one made but I don't know where it is.

I know I've mentioned this mod object a million times before, but Twojeff's Visitor Controller (http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=17.0) from Simbology will allow you to ban all "critters" from your lot though.

Well, thank you, I will try this one. I was more hoping for a global mod, not something I need to play on every lot again, though. ;)

I think there's a "nostrays" hack over at Moreawesomethanyou, although can't vouch for its effectiveness as I've never used it personally. :)

I used to keep strays off the property by putting a fence on the side of the yard facing the street and set the gate to allow family only. It kept other unwanted visitors off the lot too. :giggler:

This is the simplest and "safest" method for those worried about hacks causing the FBVFS effect.

I think the Nightlife "flame jets" might work, too, but I have not tested this yet. And I mean a LOT of them, on every tile...set to random.

Yeah, Spork, keep dancing in the minefield.

 Can animals actually catch on fire? I haven't seen it in my game yet, so I wasn't sure. Do animals that die by fire get a red ghost, like other sims do?

...that's a good idea. xD

I'm sure it would work; it's very easy to accidentally kill your sims with those. I just hope it doesn't burn my neighbors, too.

I killed my own sims using them. xD

I've also been wondering if there was a way to keep stray pets off lots, but what I'm mostly looking for is a way to keep pets off community lots. There have been too many times where a stray pet will walk onto a lot and destroy objects. So I'm just curious if there's a way to keep strays off of community lots.

See my post above re Twojeff's Visitor Controller. Once you've set it to ban whoever you want from the lot (when visiting with a sim), it will remember it for when another sim visits, which means you don't have to configure it everytime you play the lot.

I don't like having a global hack to ban all critters personally as sometimes stray pets can provide social contact for sims' pets who are living without another pet to play with. Also many of my knowledge sims roll wants to see wolves.

Okay, I did the fire jet thing...I enclosed a 5X5 tile area with them, leaving a 1 tile wide path to the pet's food dish in the center. and turned on the gas.

Apparently, the sims' pets are smarter than their owners.

The final result: 6 dead sims, and one pit bull taken away by animal control. :|

I don't know if any of SimWardrobe's many inventions are effective on pets (i.e. target-capable sentry bot, assault rifle, throwing axes, etc.). Northside Down Technologies uses the Incendiary Bomb, Assault Rifle, and Disintegrator Ray by SimWardrobe Industries on a regular basis to contain many biological threats, including wild animals, alien invasions, and re-incarnating viral outbreaks. If destruction is your concern, I've seen "strays don't dig" hacks before. There's a WCIF section of the forum; there would be a great place to ask.

There's a setting for gates and doors for "No Pets". I imagine that to be more useful if it is only strays you wish to control. I'm not sure if this is possible on community lots. It should be if you own the lot.

haha!

I couldn't kill any pet in my game, stray or otherwise. In fact, my very first sim pet when I was newer to the game was my legacy couple's golden retriever but I hadn't been keeping a check on its age as it approached the end of its life. I almost cried when I saw Grimmie turn up and throw a final stick for poor old Lola (it was too much for me, reminded me of when my own dog died). No way was I saving the game. So Lola lives on to this day, a bit like in that Cocoon film, only for animals. :)

...and so does Yoko, Stormy, Ran, Sunshine, and so many other dogs and cats in my neighbourhood. When Elixirs of Life for my Sims are plenty I keep sending them on dates to get points to make sure their pets will live as long as they will. Losing a kitty after sixteen years was painful enough, I certainly do not need the game to remind me.

My grandfather used to say: "All's well that ends." I really don't like the pets in game. They are destructive nuisances.

Oh, ND-I know for a fact the assault rifle DOES NOT work on pets. I haven't tried the other items you mentioned.

Yet.

They are destructive nuisances because you do not care to train them. :P

It is not my job to train other's pets. Especially when they wander in through the front door and wreck the couch while my idiot sims are burning down the house...er, I mean making lunch.

Yes, I know you can lock doors and gates so they disallow pets...or so they say. In truth, that only seems to work in my game about 30% of the time.

I think it might be time to dust off the old "glass box" and see if that will curb their enthusiasm for wanton destruction.
