I did not like the base camp in Egypt. So I built a very nice hotel-type camp. Only one problem - no stove. So, I thought that I could get a stove by changing the lot type to residential. Well, I got a stove. So I changed the lot type back to commercial - base camp. I got a message that some things on the lot were not allowed in residential and would be deleted. I thought they meant the stove. Well, they did. but the adventure board and trash can went with it. I have no idea how to get them back.

I had saved a copy of my pretty new camp to the library. So I thought I could just bulldoze the old lot and place a copy. No such luck. Even though the copy has the adv board and trash can, it does not show up when the lot is placed. The only thing that I tried that works is to bulldoze the lot. Then the only things left are the adv board and trash can. Then to start building again. It took me about 4 days to get everything the way it was. I hate to start over. Does anyone know how to get those 2 items without rebuilding?

I am pretty shure you can't have stoves on community lots without a mod. If you look at the firehouse from Ambitions, the stove wont work. Sorry :(

I have no mods and the stove at my firehouse works.

Have you checked in Build Mode in the Community Lot stuff? Otherwise try buydebug and see if they are there somewhere.

in france isn't that why they have the firepit on the lot outside to use....

Must have fixed it in a patch. Hmm. Also, debug won't work. And If you go to sort by Room in Buy Mode, Stoves are grayed out, and by type, they won't appear. It is not possible to get a stove on a community lot with the vanilla WA. Sorry.

I've downloaded alternative base camps that don't have adventure boards, but as soon as the lot is placed and someone goes to stay there, they appear in a random corner of the lot, and then when that sim has left I can go back and move them where I want.

Unfortunately, no. Like you I wanted improved eating options in Egypt and I knew a stove was not allowed but I found that I could add both another counter and a BBQ. Since my Sims all carry some fish and are either advanced or maxed out in cooking skills, the BBQ opens up several options on the menu.

Good luck with your rebuilding if it comes to that.
