I hope this is the right forum for this question. If not, please let me know. I have a residential lot, where I created 9 apartments. Each one is a separate house building, but with an apartment door. I have gone over the lot so many times, but I cannot seem to figure out why I cannot change the lot to an apartment base lot. Each building has it's own apartment door. Each door is different, with a different mat. All balconies are closed in, and, there are no exit doors on these buildings. There is only one way in for each building. What I want to know, does anyone know what the limit is that you can have on an apartment lot. Is it only 4 apartments, or, can you have more. I do not know what else the problem could be with trying to change the lot to apartment base from residential. Thanks, shahannah :help: :help:

According to HP's guide to building apts, you can have dozens (if not hundreds) of apartments on a lot. Of course, only 4 can be inhabited by playables. The rest would spawn AL NPCs.
Why not post some screenshots of your lot, including an overhead view? Someone might spot something that is preventing the changelotzoning from working.

Are the mats facing outwards or inwards? make sure they correct else it wont work.

I agree with mangaroo. If you'd post some screenshots of the apartments, we might be able to help. Otherwise, we're just guessing in the dark.

Hi Mootilda: Could you please tell me how to post some screenshots, so that Mangaroo and you, can look at my lot, and, try to figure out why I cannot change the lot zone to an apartment base lot? I have never downloaded screenshots of my lots, before, so I will need some help doing it. Thanks, Shahannah :help: :help:

Here's what I'd do:
Start a new post by clicking "Go Advanced".
Scroll down to "Manage Attachments".
Since I can't use the "Image Upload" button, I would click on the link in the sentence "If you are having problems with the SWF uploader, click here to show the old uploader."
At this point, you will see a bunch of "Browse" buttons under the title "Images to upload:". Click on one of the buttons and select your image.
Once you've selected all of your images, click on the "Upload Files" button. Wait for the images to upload.
Submit Reply.

Hi Mootilda: I followed your instructions, but I am lost. When I click on one of the browse buttons, it just brings me to files I have in my library. It doesn't bring me into the sims2 game. Can you please be more specific on how I can get screenshots of the lot to the browse buttons? I am sorry, this is somewhat confusing for me. Sincerely, Shahannah :help: :help:

are you using custom doors leading out to the balcony? i find many times that custom doors leading out to balconies create the error.

Personally, I would take a screenshot outside of the game, using the print screen button on my keyboard, since the in-game pictures can be quite small.
