I had everything loaded right when I had HELS and it worked just fine. Until my computer needed to be wiped and I had to re install everything then I loaded late night and had the copied folder from my old computer and just pasted it right in. However I had the newest windows and now I have vista enterprise. I've tried EVERYTHING I could seeing as I am not tech savvy I did the delete cache...and I downloaded the package installer help tool...I've done EVERYTHING and no one has an answer despite my 7 different posts across sims forums, yahoo, nothing...This is seriously aggravating it works on my friends it shows up that there are mods, but when it comes down to it doesn't do anything for me...(she has the windows I HAD, but my brother is insistent it's not my OS. :help:

Help questions go in the help forum :) And that is linked from the FAQ pages found in the Help menu. I know you think you've tried everything... but if you REALLY thought that, you wouldn't be asking ;) Which is why we encourage people to look at the FAQs before posting in the Help forum.

Before you post there, though, you might want to consider the following:

You didn't actually say what your problem is. What isn't working? You'll need to be clear about that when you ask for help :)

You also didn't say WHAT folder you moved over, or where you moved it to. That could be kinda critical ;)

Does your game work BEFORE you moved any folders over to it from your previous install? You should try running it out of the box before you try running it with old saves and mods.

Pay special attention to this: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:Installing_Package_Files . The method for installing CC has changed since HELS came out, so if you were just copying your mods folder over to the same place it wouldn't work.

Note that if your previous game (that you copied your mods from) hadn't been updated since HELS, many of your mods are probably incompatible as well. Mods, especially gameplay mods, need to be updated with every patch. Rather than copying CC over wholesale, you need to check the places your got your mods from and find out if there are updates or compatibility issues. How likely you are to have problems depends on the type of mod, but you can NEVER be sure that a mod that was compatible with an earlier version will be compatible with a later one.

Doesn't the resource.cfg need to be updated.

Depends what version you're updating from. Hence the link to the FAQ :)
