....I know sims very complex game and so fourth but with all the tech problems that Late night has to offer..I'm done with sims EP's I've had this game now for 2 days and I've uninstalled and reinstalled at least 3 times. has anyone else given up...? Sims 2 given is was low graphics and such was sooo much easier to play for the less tech savvy..and again I go to sleep without having a chance to experience the sims 3 late night

I have installed my game maybe 10 times XD and experienced a lot sooo annoying problems, but still some reason I just keep playing. I think it's not mainly only that sims 2 had worse graphics why it's working better but because EA gave much more effort to that game. With the sims 3 they have been lazy and not really giving much damn about it since no matter how bad their game is it's still going to sell. : /

I had the annoying "your base game isn't compatible" error - even though I had patched to 1.17, it thought I was still on 1.12 and refused to run. Had to uninstall and reinstall EVERYTHING. Bugs the crap out of me that I end up having to do that with basically every EP. Hours spent uninstalling and reinstalling isn't exactly my idea of gaming fun.

The launcher is the biggest Sims 3 bug. Anyway, I'm still waiting for my game. Should I patch up the other packs first, or install Late Night and update everything in one go? I'm really afraid the compatibility thingy might spoil my whole game.

I've reinstalled my game around 20 times now. I do have many problems with it, but I try and see past it and hope for the best after every reinstall.

dutch_1991 - Patch first, then install LN. I let LN patch itself when installing and that's when I got the "your base game isn't compatible" thing. As I reinstalled, I patched each thing as soon as it was done installing, and that worked fine.

My instruments & bars are not use-able :/

I've reinstalled twice...

:wtf: It's a bit strange, reading all the complaints, 'cause I've never had ANY problems with installing, patching, anything at all. No glitches, no crashes. Hm. I guess I should be grateful, seeing how frustrating this is for others, who have to reinstall everything time and time again... <hugs you all>

I've had my trouble too no doubt but I keep thinking back to Sims 3 and all the expansion packs. No matter what anyone says it was just as big if not more of a pain in the ass. Working with CC was a whole 'nother ball of wax too! What with all the new meshes and 5 zillion recolors of Sims objects. No I think I beat my head much more over all the EPs. We just keep believing that somehow they will get these things figured out over there at EA. They never, ever do. I believe it must be a gap in their collective intelligentsia. Some kind of unexplainable blind spot...

I don't think they've been lazy I just think they've rushed this one out, most things for me have been smooth sailing but this expansion is cursed right from the get go I experienced crashes long loading times and glitches galore! I also hate the new camera its too quick and I'm now frightened to hit the tab button for fear I'll be in a dark oblivion and have to do serial zooming to figure out where I am.

Hi there!

I think the best way to install your game is to patch every EP and SP after installing it. It's the only solution I found to avoid problems with my game. It's taking more time for install, but the game will run better. Plus, I'll add that you'll better run the game one time after any EP or SP installation, and do it with the launcher, this way, you'll be sure to have every patches.

I reinstalled everything last night, I had a 400Mo+ patch after the base game install, 80Mo to 100Mo after WA, same after HELS and Ambitions, and SURPRISE, after reinstalling FLS "TADAM" 200Mo patch (that was so not expected... How can an SP asks for such a huge patch?), finally, no patch after LN, and bye bye laggy game! ^^

EA didn't change at all since The Sims 2, because it was exactly the same thing for those games, one game followed by one patch was the only way to make Sims 2 working on my comp.

Have fun with your setups!!! ^^

I only have a headache because I've been playing the game for long, long sessions. The only problems I've had has been with incompatible game mods. I wasn't able to enter a house at all because I had some witches in a house, and they had wands in their inventories (grr). I haven't had to uninstall since the patch error, but that was way before LN release. I've had to start a neighbourhood again because of errors, but I haven't had to go to the extreme of uninstalling - and my computer is pretty crappy.. I guess I just got lucky this time.

Check you have the lastest EADM before installing . I always take out saves and mods and run without. Then check for Mod updates NO MOSAIC has been updated Awsome and NIRAS have also been updated. All of these will cause problems if you do not update .
Remove UI CASBasics Mod 5x5 by Rez Delnava until updated and some CC windows have no glass just delete them from launcher. The only other problem I had was with one fridge I deleted it from launcher.
After doing all this I have been able to play fine. I have an all in one machine with avaerage specs and it plays well.

I let the game patch itself when I first put in the NL disk. No problems.

I have not had to reinstall at all, and I'm quite surprised since I had to with the other EPs. I had one error code 16, and two or 3 crashes, but I think the crashes were due to cc. I had taken all of my cc out, installed LN, created a Bridgeport, tested all my cc and put what worked back in, deleted my Bridgeport and attempted to create a new one and the game would always crash when the new Bridgeport loaded up. But when I took out my hacks folder again it let me load it. So for some reason my I must have a mod that wont let me add new Bridgeports, but will still let me load existing ones. Not a deal breaker, since it's easy to get around.

My launcher is totally screwed though. Whenever I load the game, it says can't connect to whatever, or that it's stopped working. The game still loads and I can still install sims3packs, but it keeps throwing out random errors for no apparent reason and crashing. I'll probably have to fix that eventually, or download a custom launcher.

There's a lot of bugs in this game unfortunately and reinstalling things are not going to work if multiple of people are reporting the same thing. Normally you would only reinstall a game if a file has corrupted or it has some serious technical issues outside of glitches and bugs. Reinstalling it more than once is also not necessary.

As a side note, graphics has nothing to do with the bugs. Those bugs are programming code errors.

Dude, I miss the days when I thought Sims 1 were a complicated game. I had problems to install it because I was a kid and so but after that, Sims 1 were a paradise. With buttloads of customs, the game ran fine and smooth. I had the best days of my life and that's it.

I'm all grown up and Sims 3 is still a bitch for me to make work. And, of course, it's very slow, and I keep asking myself: "Why I keep playing this shit?". Seriously, my PC isn't so good and the game runs teribly here. And The Sims without customs is shit for me, so I can't really play a vanilla game. MEH!

Some fun bugs I've came across since The Sims 3 launched:

- Blue lots!

- Can't drink cofee, when the Sims get the cup he reset and the cup appears on the floor

- Sometimes my sims freezes and I have to reset them and the object they were using

- When walking thru a door, the sim stops for some moments.

- Before going upstairs/downstairs they stop for some seconds.

- Old lot thumbnail replacing the new one

- Moar blue lots!

- Crash to desktop

- Can't play on high settings or my graphic card freezes

- A gameplay of 1 hour ingame (1 minute in real life) feels like 2 minutes in real life

- Textures takesforever to load when in a new house (the open neighborhood for me doesn't exist, since I have to load everything when my Sims leave their houses lawlz)

And still? I keep playing the damn game LOL! What's wrong with me? D:

It shouldn't be too hard to run The Sims 3 with a onboard graphics card. I had most of the settings set to low with a onboard graphics running at sub 30 fps until I got a real card.

That's the thing, I do have a real card, it's not onboard. I think it's something else in my PC that sucks.. Like, eveyrthing. :P

Ehh, maybe. Honestly I think that The Sims is a much more CPU focused game than GPU. There's also a chance that your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU if its not fast enough.

Let me first state that I am totally computer tech un-savy. So, you can imagine the issue I am having trying to figure out what is causing my in-play game to have a great deal of jerkiness. I have noticed that the choppiness has gotten worse over the past 3 days with each saved game. I bought a new Alienware Area 51 in February specifically for Sims 3, have no internet or any other programs running during game play. Specs are as follows: Intel Core i7 920 processor, 6 GB Triple Channel 1067 MHz DDR3, ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB graphics card and 1 TB of memory (which still has just under 900 GB of free space). I do not know what my fps is and have no way to check at the moment because Im at work...not that Id really know where to go to find such information if I was available. Also, as stated, I do not have internet and thus have no CC. I was so exicited about this EP and now my mood is shot...this is the first time Ive ever had issues with Sims 3. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for any assistance. :help:

You bought an Alienware? You know you've just wasted your money on an overpriced product, right? Anyway, if you have problems, you should post your problem at Sims 3 Help.
It shouldn't be too hard to run The Sims 3 with a onboard graphics card. I had most of the settings set to low with a onboard graphics running at sub 30 fps until I got a real card. It's a very bad idea to run TS3 with an IGP. Even if you can run it, you will end up frying your graphics card and your computer.

Is anyone having trouble clicking on a sim? I cant interact with anyone. Could it be a hack? I had no problems before i installed the game. It works because i can click on any object. Can't get my female sim to pick up her toddler. The poor baby is going to starve to death. :help:

That is very, VERY strange. Because those specs are pretty much capable of running the most graphically intense games as of today (Crysis, Metro 2033, etc). I'm not sure what is the problem here.

It's a very bad idea to run TS3 with an IGP. Even if you can run it, you will end up frying your graphics card and your computer.

I'd imagine that is almost impossible on a desktop machine... You need to be in excess of 80 degrees Celsius to damage the hardware components and even more to fry your graphics card. That's just me though, because I have an assumption that if a integrated graphics card doesn't have enough power to run the graphics even decently, then its probably not going to burn itself (energy = heat). That thing was never meant to play advanced and complicated games.

If we're talking about a laptop however... then yes I will agree that is certainly the case. I ended up with a wonky laptop after playing the Sims 2 excessively on my incapable laptop. It didn't really fry out the card or anything, but the fans were broken, system started to crash once in a while and the laptop was hot as hell, almost burning my fingers.

I'm pretty sure there's a few of us here who are playing the Sims 3 on onboard graphics; judging by some people's in-game graphics from screenshots.

Is anyone having trouble clicking on a sim? I cant interact with anyone. Could it be a hack? I had no problems before i installed the game. It works because i can click on any object. Can't get my female sim to pick up her toddler. The poor baby is going to starve to death. :help:

That's probably a mod that's causing that to happen. It happened to me. You need to pull out whichever mod that interacts with sims social abilities because its not up to date.

:] well ladies and gent I've uninstalled and reinstalled and will be doing it again once morning hits! This time my game is saying I have no disk....wonderful right? I've restarted, taken the disk out several times pulled the launcher up several times... I seems no matter how many times I re install....everything! not just LN I have a completely new and undiscovered error. I just really don't understand....how can they sell sell sell and no ones game works expect maybe the lucky 1 out of 20 users. This really SUCKS. I've spent a very generous amount of money on the sims 3, WA, Ambitions, HELS and LN and now all that money is just burned not to mention the countless dollars spent in the sims store. Thank you EA, I'm doing ONE more reinstall..and if that doesn't work I'm craigs listing everything.

One more comment for you all....LN although it has the most exciting things to come to an EP for the sims 3...is by far THE WORST most bugged EP EVER....... literately EVER
