How do I get my sims to go out at night? I put clubs in the suburbs. No one is there when my sims visit.

Yea, that seems to be a common prob. There is supposed to be a "Hotspot" system, where, some clubs are more popular than the others. I don't have the game, so I can't really answer this, but this is what I have heard.

Yeah it is annoying you are trying to party. It seems you are partying by yourself.

Have you tried reading the paper to determine where the hot spots will be? Maybe that will generate some hoopla.

Due to ts3's stalker system of populating venues, you may have to wait in the club for a little bit before other sims start following the leader.

I really wonder if this is an issue with lower-end systems (or the game mistakenly deciding you have a low-end system even if you don't). I usually get at least 10 sims per club showing up, even if it's not a hot spot. Sims start showing up almost as soon as I tell my sim to go there (so by the time she gets there, there's already a crowd).
If you guys who are having this problem post a thread in the Help section (because this really does seem to be a bug or glitch - it's not happening for everyone) then maybe we can figure out what the problem is, and how to fix it. I have some ideas, but I'd rather not hash it out in Sims Discussion where every second person will be all "me toooo omg I hate EA" ;)

I have a low end system, AMD 4400x64 dual processor, 2.1MHz, small form factor with only 300watts power. (doing this from memory) The largest video card I can get is the Nvidia 9500/512MB RAM. With DEP and LAA, I have been able to play, even with Sims, textures, and edge smoothing on high, for hours no less. The clubs in Bridgeport are showing 7 to 10 sims in them, the parks and other community lots. I have never experienced low amounts of sims showing up at community lots, even before LN.
I had a time getting my tired, hungry, dirty sim home from this one club because of the elevator swarm. It took 4 hours.

I had this problem too when I first started building bars and dance clubs for my Sunset Valley. Everything was empty a sim-week or so and then things started picking up. Part of the problem is that there are no celebrities yet in town except for the two I imported from Bridgeport, but I'm also seeing that some of the locals are starting to get some star power--the stylist in town, one of the Ursine ladies--picked up 2 stars on her own. I've seen her pop into a couple of the clubs and afterwards more sims started appearing in the clubs as well. Now, about 2 sim-weeks into it, my clubs aren't exactly crowded, but they're not exactly ghost towns either. I'm playing with story progression on but aging off, by the way, and it was a new Sunset Valley that I've been trying this out on.
Granted, I think there probably is a bit of glitchiness involved somewhere--I don't think the clubs are getting populated enough yet--but I think there is a tie in to how many celebrities show up at the various venues that help determine how many sims show up, and I've seen it in my game that it does indeed take a little time for clubs/bars to catch on.
