Smells Bad

I just got Late Night, and already have noticed a few weird things and is wondering if anyone else has seen these in their games too.
Mark, a Sim of mine, went to work and I chose the "meet co-workers" option for him. After a while, I got a popup saying "Mark Thompson has met Mark Thompson at work"... he met himself at work! This otherwise would've been funny, but Mark 1 got a thumbnail of Mark 2 in his relationships panel, stating that they were "acquaintances" with the little icons for co-worker and the picture undoubtedly being a clone of Mark 1. Now, I'm a little wary of playing as I don't want clones of all my sims cluttering up the neighbourhood, and eventually imploding it.
Also, I've noticed that after Late Night was installed, friendship gets kicked into serious overdrive. Once two people become "friends" by the next day they are already "best friends" despite having zero interaction since getting to the "friend" zone. They also seem to become "friends" a lot more easily... one sim just played tag with one for 1.5 hours and they were best friends after that. Another was group watching TV with a sim and they were best friends by the next day. When I was playing with Ambitions, I distinctly recall that it took a lot of phone calls and chats (maybe even an illicit flirt or two) to just become friends.
Has anyone else noticed these in their games? I have ZERO custom content in my game, so it's definitely not a conflict. Help/theories appreciated.
