I *know* this bit of info was posted somewhere in an entirely unrelated thread, eons ago, but I have spent two work days searching and I am stumped!

I have plants in the ground that I want to keep. I simply want to mature them in "steps". I *know* someone posted a hold-down-many-buttons-and-do-this type cheat, but....

what is the process???

Please, please help.

You need to enable debuginteractions, awesomemod allows you to do that and I think Twallan has a debug enabler, once you've done that shift click on the plant and pick next growth state.

You could always go to buydebug plant section and just buy perfect plants...thats what i do.

Buydebug plants are always of normal quality. To actually get perfect plants, you have to do the debuginteractions method, either through twallan's debug enable, or awesomemod, once every harvest (or once every other harvest, if your sim has high gardening skill/greenthumb trait). Warning: this is cheating! You have been warned:

Type testingcheatsenabled true into the cheat console (ctrl-shift-c). Type buydebug into the cheat console. Find desired plant in the gardening section of the debug buy menu (?) Place plant in desired spot. Using awsomemod, with debugInteractions enabled*, ctrl-shift-click on plant and hit "more" until "next growth state" appears in the pie menu and click it. Repeat the last step until the plant is in the harvest state. Harvest the plant and replant the highest quality fruit/vegetable. Delete old plant if desired and continue repeating the process on each new plant until desired quality of plant is achieved.

*If using twallan's debug enabler, the process is: click on the plant, choose the "nraas" menu, choose "debug enabler", choose "options" choose "more" until "next growth state" appears, repeat as per the above instructions.

Liebere Gott, it FINALLY makes sense!

I've been going bonkers in part because I do NOT have awesomemod, or Twallan's program.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Now... does anyone know if Dolphin26 is working on updating the garden gnome, or should I bite the bullet and install one of the above? Do they do the same basic things?

Twallan's mods are freakin' fantastic. STRONGLY recommended - I've loved the hell out of all of them I've gotten. They work beautifully as advertised, and if you ever have any problems, Twallan seems to always be around to answer questions and is super nice.
