Do you want to make both yourself and your Sims suffer? Then this is for you!

This challenge is not meant to be a generation challenge- your household will eventually die out. The question is, how long will they last, stranded on a deserted island with almost nothing?

Objective: to keep all three Sims alive as long as possible and as happy as possible.

Step 1- Bulldoze EVERYTHING, evicting everyone!
Step 2 or 3- BUILD a house-one house only. Deserted islands do not have pre-made homes.
*The house can only have the bare essentials- beds, a table with chairs, refrigerator, counter-top, stove, toilet, shower, walls, floors, doors, windows and sink.
*This house must not have anything electric, other than the refrigerator (and stove?). This includes lights. Your house can have as many windows as you want.
Note- this house MUST be a starter house if your active household is to live in it.
Step 3 or 2- Create a family, but not just any family:
*Two adults of the same sex (can be roomies, siblings, or spouses)- the idea is that no new Sims are made.
*One kid that is a child- either gender.
There are no restrictions on appearance.
Traits-
At least one adult Sims must hate the outdoors
No Sim shall have the unlucky or loser trait, as that would prevent them from dying from causes other than old age.
Other than that, go at it.
Step 4- Move household into lot.
Step 5-turn off story progression (no one should randomly move in to a deserted island). Also, turn on aging. Use any lifespan you want.
Step 6- Have fun! Attempt to keep your Sims alive and happy while following the below rules:

1. After the initial house, nothing can be purchased.
2. All food must be grown and/or caught.
3. Decline all opportunities that pop up.
4. Do not employ your Sims- if you followed the directions properly, employing Sims should be impossible, as all the places of employment would have been bulldosed. Funds shall be raised by selling fish and/or items collected.
5. No new Sims, houses, or community places should be created.
:!: Exception: if your neighborhood has no fishable water, you may add a pond, lake, or river.
6. No cheats may be used to increase happiness, needs, or lifetime rewards.
7. Speaking of lifetime rewards, should you actually acquire some, you may not spend them.
8. Even in the case of a fire, do not use the phone- there's not really a signal where your Sims live.
9. When a Sims dies, their ghost must stay on the lot.

The game ends when all three of your Sims have died. There is no real way to "win" the challenge, expect by somehow legally acquiring Ambrosia and making all of your Sims immortal.

Points:
+10 points for moving onto the island.
+10 points for every 30 days that no Sims die.
+5 points for every day that all three of your Sims has at least a "Happy" mood.
+20 points for every skill mastered.

-20 points for any non-child Sims that dies
-30 points for the child dying before aging to be a teenager
-30 points for every item bought.
-5 points for every day that any of the Sims's moods stays below "Fair" for more than 6 hours.
-10 points for every time that a phone is used.

Sorry if this is a little picky- I'm new at these things.
Post pictures/videos and let us see how your Sims are faring!

Is the child supposed to be related to the adults? Would it be possible, say, for the child to grow up and reproduce with one or both of the adults? If one has things like same-sex pregnancy or teen woohoo, should they disable/not use them for this challenge?
...if we bulldoze/delete all the lots, where are we supposed to get seeds/plants to grow? You can either find them and plant them or take a class and get some seeds, but with everything gone, you can't even do that. Are we allowed to put in a lot with seed spawners or common garden plants?

I'm actually gonna try this, I'll build an island and everything for it. I've been wanting an extra super easy thing to make in create a world and what's easier then a desert island. The challenge seems really hard though, probably will drive me nuts! I'll post pictures ^^

Someone should create this island world so we can all download it. It should have fruits growing around though, in parks, apple trees, etc. I can't create a world (on a Mac) so I'll have to bulldoze an already-made one.

I've tried using CAW and I can't get it. I mean, I have the land and I put in some fish and seed spawners and I think it's a pretty neat little world but I dunno where it exported and I can't seem to get it into my game. :/

The sims3pack of the exported world would turn up in the mydocuments/ electronic arts/ the sims 3/ exports folder. From there just install it like any other sims3pack in the launcher. Hope you can get your world loaded :D

This challenge sounds fun, I'm actually working on an island at the moment, when i get it done I'll have to try this!

Aha! There it is! ...twice. I wonder why one is bigger than the other.
Thank you, though. :D I'll get started on this soon!

If y'all really need a small desert island, I think I could throw one up. CAW's pretty easy once you get used to its quirks. How big should the island be?

Hi!

I have made a small island a few month ago. It was my first world and it's not much, but maybe someone wants it:

Let me know, if I shall upload it somewhere.
You can have the CAW files or/and the sims3pack.
I deleted my world made with World Adventure so I have to export it again. Therefore I think you need WA, Ambitions and Late Night.

Edit:
Uploaded both on mediafire:
Little Island Sims3pack (http://www.mediafire.com/?4l1rtpahq881rdz)
Little Island CAW Files (http://www.mediafire.com/?g7ltylyvfpuiay9)

Has anyone done this yet? I was building my house and realized that they're going to make a lot of laundry. I figure in a real island situation, they'd do laundry in a stream or the ocean, but since we can't do that in Sims, can we put in a washer and clothesline?

Also, it might be interesting (or less frustrating or something) if there is a way to win by being rescued. Maybe roll once a week and if you get a certain number, a passing ship sees you or something. I dunno.

(I guess I'm mostly talking to other people who might be thinking about this as our fearless leader hasn't responded to anything.)

Yes, would be nice to have a time limit instead of all sims dying. Maybe 4-6 weeks?
Afterwards a gigantic party ship arrives and the people decide, to make the island a favoured party location.

If you wish to do the laundry, then try this (http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=426172) interesting object. I use it for my medieval world.

Edit:
Here (http://www.snootysims.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=32581) is a lovely world.

Hey, does anyone know where I could find some island clothes for my sims? Like ratty and torn up clothes and stuff like that. 'Stranded on a desert island' kinda lol. I can't find any!

Kiara24 (http://www.modthesims.info/browse.php?f=38&page=4&u=2722260&showType=1&showAll=1&gs=0) made some excelent medieval clothes. I think, they blend well in a cast away theme.

Joo Joo, If you can spend the money the Life's a Beach set at the sims store works pretty well for this. :

I really like this idea, and after I read it I soon had my Gilligan's Island-named sims all alone... with a horde of paparazzi.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get around this? It kinda kills the mood.
